I happened to be outside when Vince, Dario, and Antony came by for our pickup, and I had a few questions since we're new to the neighborhood. This morning was one of those mornings where you're just glad you made it out the door on time--completely hectic. Before leaving to drop the kids off, I noticed my trash can had been absolutely obliterated by a gang of raccoons who clearly hosted a full-blown midnight rave in it. Trash everywhere. On the way home to deal with the mess and put the bin out - my heart sank as I drove past--everyone else's bins were already empty. I thought, "Oh no... the trash truck came early. How am I going to make it until next week? My bin at this point looked like it was actively throwing up. But THEN--I pull into my driveway and see the trash guys not only grabbing my bin, but picking up all the raccoon crime scene debris around it like absolute legends. I genuinely considered hugging the guy, but decided I didn't want to end up on someone's Ring camera as "emotional lady assaults sanitation worker with gratitude." NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR A SERVICE THEY DIDN'T RECEIVE. I set up service with Tiger Sanitation in August 2025 under a signed quarterly billing agreement, $75.15 per quarter. Within weeks they switched me to monthly billing without my knowledge or consent and sent an invoice for $122.51 I never agreed to. I reported 13 missed pickup days in October alone, due to bins being blocked by traffic from the adjacent high school. Tiger refused all credits and told me to call the police, contact the HOA, and place traffic cones on a public road. Police said it wasn't a crime and to stop calling. The HOA has no jurisdiction over the county road. So I kept losing service while still being billed in full. I chose not to renew. Tiger has no online cancellation option -- only phone or "formal" written request -- violates the FTC's Click to Cancel rule. They denied receiving my cancellation requests, then a representative admitted on a call she had one on file, directly contradicting their own written response. Even after moving, I'm forced to drive by the property to check if they've retrieved their own bins, because they'll charge a $100 "unreturned cart" fee and a $25 cancellation fee -- neither disclosed at signup. They billed me for a full quarter I never authorized after I'd already moved out which is also not disclosed at set up. Very sketchy! read more

Last week Tiger failed to completely empty my trash can. I called daily and was preach day that it would be picked up "tomorrow". Their system gave ridiculous wait times of 15 HOURS, 29 HOURS and one rep told me that their system told one rep the wait time was 250 HOURS! Insane. They finally said I had to wait until my regular pickup day which was today. AGAIN they failed to fully empty my trash can. As a retired senior citizen, I can easily lift the bag out of the trash can so it's not jammed in the trash can. No excuse. Today I have been waiting over 2 hours to get a call back from leadership. I would not recommend this company. At all. I called to cancel my service and these people told me I can't get a refund for the unused month on my service that I want to end early. So now I have to keep my service for a month that I don't want AND pay for them to get the trash cans. I've never heard of a company not giving a customer a refund for services they no longer want. We set up a new Tiger sanitation account and Tiger put the next doors service in my name after mistakenly shutting down their account. Refused to pick up trash repeatedly. Multiple instances of mistaken failures to perform. We had to call and argue for hours Repeatedly. They came went in our fenced back yard and picked up our cans by mistake shutting down our account that was paid in full and dumped the trash in our front yard. Upon cancelling over a month ago we were told they would pick up the cans and reimburse us the remaining balance for unused service...Many, many phone calls and emails later I finally talked to someone (30 days later). This person said they had no record of us cancelling, would not reimburse for the 2 months we had advance paid for, and were charging us $25 per container to pick them up. They offered no concern when I expressed my frustration at this charge and the fact that they basically lied to us about cancelling the service in July. I would advise anyone to steer clear of this company, especially military service members PCS'ing into Joint Base San Antonio and unaware of Tiger's reputation! read more

If your neighborhood has the option to use a different trash company, I'd recommend it. They've skipped our trash pickup multiple times, and it feels like they're always looking for a reason not to do the job we're paying them to do. Most recently, they left our full trash can because the lid wasn't completely shut. It was barely cracked open--not overflowing or sticking way up. I understand having rules, but there has to be some common sense involved. When customers are paying for a service, they shouldn't have to worry about their trash being left behind over something so minor. We've had too many missed pickups, and it's frustrating to keep dealing with excuses instead of reliable service. At the end of the day, we're paying for our trash to be collected, and this company has not consistently delivered on that. read more

The entire neighborhood put out their trash today and it was not picked up due to them changing the service and not being able to inform their customers of the change. I've been waiting all morning for a call back from management regarding a situation with my order, and I still don't have any answers. I ordered a 20-yard roll-off dumpster last Friday (7/25). The order was processed quickly, I signed and paid, and was told it would be delivered today, 7/29. Yesterday I called to confirm, since I had received no confirmation, and was told delivery could be anytime between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. No window at all. This morning around 6 a.m., your driver came out, decided the location in the order notes was "too hard," called but unable to reach us because we were still asleep at 6 am and then left. By the time I returned his call (around 7:00 am) we were awake and ready to give alternate instructions. He called me back at 7:45 am and told me I would need to call customer service because he couldn't come back without dispatch approval. Since 8 a.m., I've been on the phone repeatedly with the customer service team, passing messages back and forth with dispatch. The service rep tried to reach dispatch, then called me back saying there was a conflict between the driver's story and what I explained and the message from dispatch seemed real hostile and it seemed like they wouldn't be attempting any re-delivery today. The rep said she would get management involved and send them a message and she would call me back. It's now 11:00 am, and I still have no response or confirmation of whether this dumpster will be delivered today. We have a large, wide driveway with ample space for drop-off, and I honestly don't understand why the driver couldn't just complete the delivery. We specifically chose Tiger because the business is close to our home (5 minute drive down 87). At this point, the lack of clear communication between the driver, dispatch, customer service and management has been extremely frustrating. We have a construction/moving project underway today, and losing an entire day because no one can give us an answer is unacceptable. read more

I try to call and see if they could pass by again since they were just down the street. But it was after hours. I do not recommend. We're stuck with them for the neighborhood we live in. read more

After putting me on, hold to figure out what happened a man came back on and said apparently i Had service with them 8 years ago and I owed them money. Most of my neighborhood uses this company, but I learned from multiple times happen to call them that they kept missing my house for one reason or another and sometimes they didn't have a reason. So I chose a different trash company and I've had no issues since. Tiger needs to step it up. The other complaint I had was that they no longer did the weekly recycle instead they wanted to do it every other week, but they did not lower your cost. I would probably reconsider possibly if they would get their service to be better and brought back the recycling every week. read more

Without a phone call or text--which are industry standards for service cancellation--my bins were cancelled and collected. * When I called to restart, I was informed that I owed a collection fee and an account reinstatement fee for the new quarter. I refused this charge. * The Shocking Discovery: It was only when my fiancé called to attempt to start her own new service that Tiger informed her of a five-year-old past due balance on her original, long-cancelled account. This balance consisted of a $50 bin cleaning and pickup fee ($25 per bin) that was never communicated via phone, email, or text in the last half-decade. * Today, after receiving a random invoice and inquiring about it, I was threatened with being sent to collections over this $50 fee, which should clearly be a standard cost of doing business, not a penalty used to harass previous customers. 2. Retaliatory and Arrogant Management The lack of professionalism was solidified when a manager called my fiancé regarding her previous account. * The manager, without provocation or request, condescendingly asked my fiancé, "Do you know how to cancel service?" * This statement was both uncalled for and arrogant, demonstrating a management culture that uses intimidation and rudeness rather than service recovery. 3. Poor and Unsafe Field Service The service quality itself was unreliable and concerning: * Collection was spotty, even when our bins were left out properly. * During a collection, a truck spilled smelly hydraulic fluid all over our street. The driver attempted to clean it up by dumping what appeared to be cat litter on the pavement and then simply drove off, leaving the contaminated material to pollute the roads and storm drains. Our neighbors, not Tiger, had to dispose of the toxic mess. 4. Misleading Pricing and Service Claims * Tiger allegedly raised prices, citing a switch to new hydraulic-arm trucks that would eliminate the need for crew members hanging off the back. * This appeared to be a lie. We saw the new trucks only once or twice, and I frequently see Tiger crews in our neighborhood and surrounding areas operating the old way, with people walking alongside and hanging off the trucks. The Solution: Switched to a Superior Provider We have happily switched to a new provider who offers: * Weekly collection for both trash and recycling (Tiger only collected recycling every other week and does not accept glass). * A price that is approximately $30 less per quarter. * Excellent Customer Service: They use simple text messages to communicate any service or schedule changes immediately. * No Cancellation Fees or Bin Pickup Fees should we choose to end service. I have been a customer for over two years and was a pretty happy camper for 65% of that time. Reduced services for recycling (every other week), disallowing additional bags for leafs and stuff (2 bags per pick-up day was the original service), then stating if the lid is raised in any manner the trash would not be collected was frustrating but I hung in there. Granted the prices did not drop with the reduced services, but remained the same based on inflation (explanation by business and employee health from picking up bags and injuries) The thing that has really pushed me to the brink is the truck driving by and simply not picking up the garbage due to driver/crew error. This requires me to call Tiger, wait 20 mins for a callback because the lines are so busy, explain that yet again my trash was not picked up, then schedule a special pick-up. Hassle and really poor client experience and service. Myriad of excuses but none have not been associated with me not following the rules. It is a hassle to change providers as many know but I think that I have reached my tipping point. I would happily pay more for solid and consistent service. Crossing my fingers they come back after my call to Tiger but it could not be guaranteed.
