The 2 movers we had I think there names are Paul and Manny are the coolest, nicest guys I've ever met. They were so respectful to me, my family and my belongings. Honestly, the amount I paid was REALLY reasonable for how much work these guys put in. There was zero damage to my belongings. Zero rating from my side. They moved our furniture locally within 8-10 mile radius and damaged so much of our expensive furniture. Most furniture was scratched from corners and edges. While putting together the bed, Headboard, side board fell and they were damaged at multiple areas. While moving furniture inside our new home, they damaged our front door, our staircase wooden post. They didn't wrap dining table chairs in blankets. They didn't cover leather sofa seat cushions at all during the move. When we asked them, they said it's just local move and they have been doing this for 25 years. They assured us that our furniture will be protected; but it was damaged so much. They offered $0.60 per pound for damaged headboard only. And they assumed it's weight but it is heavier than that. Anyways $0.60 is too For most of the damage they mentioned, it wasn't damaged during the move as we sent them pictures after the move day. Pls look at all the attached pictures. Pls do yourself a favor and stay away from these movers. Moving is already very stressful and you don't want to add another stress. Every day I look at my damaged furniture, it hurts as nothing can be done now. For insurance of your furniture during move, always buy full value protection for your furniture. Not all movers offer that. So check about that. I usually don't write reviews but wanted to inform others, so that they don't go through same. read more

Not only did they run late (which I was understanding that things happen), they broke my daughters almost brand new bed frame and when I contacted them to repair or reimburse I was informed that they only pay $.60 per lb. So for a frame that weighed 22 lbs that the entire frame and headboard cost me over $500, they would only reimburse me $13. No apology from the mover or the owners wife. She reassured me that my daughter was in good hands and now she's out a functional bed frame. Then her husband Toby (who was one of the movers) also said he would contact me and never did. I will never use them again and would encourage others not to unless u want to risk a similar experience. Movers aren't cheap and you trust them with your precious items. This is in response to a post by one of our many customers. I am not the type of person to down rate or be little anyone. But this is in response to a Move from San Antonio to Colorado. We arrived at the job site. On time and prepared to work. We made contact with the customers. And proceeded to load a pod that i informed the customers that all the items would Not fit. I then proceeded to offer the customers other alternatives. One being my company bringing back a truck and us loading it. To be taken to Colorado. At a very reasonable rate. They agreed . The pod is only 16ft long and 8 ft high. The customers had 2 sofas that were 9 ft long. Standing up. So of course the would only fit in on their feet. Which consumes up most of the room. So with that being said. They would have to use 2-2and a half pods. I had to literally take everything they had and stuff it into one truck to keep the cost at minimum trying to please this customer. She had alot of damaged furniture that we pointed out but never documented by photo which we have implemented since this move. Upon arriving.....in Colorado. I called the customer to inform them we had made it to their city. I spoke to the husband for a few minutes. Before we hung up. I asked a question. I asked had the owner spoke with them about MAYBE MAYBE. Seeing if it was possible for them out of a courtesy to us. If it would be possible to follow us to drop of the truck. And to give us a ride to greyhound.. the ? Being if the owner had spoken to them. Upon speaking to the husband the answer to the question was he had not. But all arrangements had already been taken care of. Upon arriving at the home. The owner had instructed me to get the payment. Which is standard procedure for out of state moves. When the husband told me and my helper he was unable to pay. Due to the fact their credit card was packed and in the truck.. we proceeded to unload the truck.. now the customers are seeking damages. Im not going to lie. It was a few. But not what they say it was.. the customer claims damages to her sofa i.e dirty. But the dirt came from their lawnmower.that was filthy but had to be transported with minimal amount of time. I admit this job was a complete mess. But not all was the fault of my employer or myself. Ive been moving and relocating people and families, businesses, and never have i had any issues such as this.. i have worked for quite a few moving companies im this time. Used this moving company last year and the experience was wonderful everything was on time about three hours and nothing broken. That is why I went back to use them this past month. There was an issue with my bed being broken as well as my mirror being broken the mirror was not wrapped either. Could've been avoided. Mistakes happen they gentleman replaced the mirror who broke it. Not the issue. My issue is with the owner Toby. He kept putting it on me that I should've told him sooner which I thought he knew because the person who broke the items told me he told him. He kept telling me how heavy the mirror must've been blaming it on that which the mirror I can move around my apartment just fine. He set an expectation to give me a refund for two hours of the service because it took them six hours to move all my stuff which last year only took them three and it was the same items. He then changed it to where he was only going to give me an hour and a half refund he said when I picked up the mirror that the mover was going to replace that she would give him the cash. Then I had to hunt him down to keep checking when I get the refund . he told me he had already had told me it was for the next week and he didn't have to refund me anyways and brought up how heavy the mirror was again he has never seen the mirror. Never apologized at any point to me . he has now dodged every single one of my calls and did not give me the refund . I went to go pick up my mirror yesterday and he was nowhere to be seen. I will not be contacting them anymore. but I'm hoping this review will maybe make him be a more respectable business owner and when mistakes happen and you say you're going to do something you actually do it. Also warning to other people not use this company. on top of that the owner will put blame on you and not be apologetic . And make an expectation of a refund and then never do it . I will never use this company again and it's because the owner not because of the broken items it's how the owner handled it afterwards . One day he said he was gonna replace the mirror then the next day the worker said he was gonna replace the mirror then they said all the glass companies were closed then they said wait till next week literally every day was a different story and then when I questioned it the owner got mad. Scheduled a move and paid the deposit (which he said they could accept through venmo, thank God I used my card linked to my bank instead.) They texted to confirm the night before that everything was on track. They then texted me the next day, one hour before the move, to cancel with no explanation, and went on to block my number so I could not reach them by call or text. I Was able to call them from another number and the calls went through, but they never responded. I understand things happen and would've worked with them on needing to reschedule or even cancel with a valid explanation, but I really don't understand the way they handled it all. They unblocked me today (2 days after scheduled move) to ask about refunding my deposit, so hopefully I'll be getting that back. I Was excited to try a newer, locally owned and affordable company, disappointed to say I would not recommend. I'm a realtor and was trying them out for a personal move before recommending out to clients, so I'm glad they only messed up my move and not a client's, but it definitely left me in a tough spot. I hope in the future they can learn to be professional and treat paying customers with decency and respect, especially if they need to change plans or adjust. read more

I was in need of quality, time efficient movers that also had flexible time frames because being a full time nursing student as well as working full time it was extremely hard to find a moving company, date and time that worked with both my school schedule and work schedule. In my search for the perfect moving company I came across Smothers Brothers Movers and read all of the reviews and knew this was my company. The 2 movers I had were amazing, kind, very time efficient, extremely careful with loading and unloading my things and made sure i was satisfied with how the truck looked loaded and that every box was in its proper room before leaving. Smother's Brothers at first was easy to contact, and make arrangement to do some work moving item's into a storage container in back of the property. For the time I had set up with them, very little work was done, and I was told that one of the movers spent more time on the phone than moving item's into the container, also the packing of the container was very poorly done. I tried calling the Smother's Brothers on a price quote I was given to finish the the job. One brother told me they would do it for a set amount price that we agreed on, but when I called to have them go back I was told by the other brother he would not honor the price the other brother gave, so there word means nothing when given. I am being generous giving them one stare, and cannot recommend this company for moving services. read more

So, I literally don't have words for these guys. We were in the most desperate of last minute situations ,it was May 15, and moving in the middle of Covid, needless to say not much help was available. I had hired someone from Craigslist which was an absolute DISASTER! They made a mess of our truck and didn't wrap anything despite having all the materials that we purchased placed everywhere throughout our house.In one last ditch effort I put out word on Thumbtack and got an immediate response from Smothers Brothers Movers, saying they would be available in the morning. I was nervous the entire night as nothing had gone right with this move AT ALL! Not only did they actually show up, they gave a text prior to leaving San Antonio (I was outside Austin!) They were there when they said they would be. Nice start, but it got BETTER from there. These guys completely undid the disaster that happened from the Craigslist nightmare. They emptied the entire truck , wrapped everything properly ,and reloaded it in a way that they actually fit what No-one thought possible! We should have picked a bigger truck, but they worked some crazy organizing miracle! Not only that, they did EVERYTHING in HALF the time as the Craigslist nightmare. I have never seen such an efficient team ,it was truly awe inspiring. My only regret was not having them when we had to unpack the truck when we made it to New England! They were the only bright side to an otherwise dark, miserable move that seems to be never ending! Save yourself the time and frustration...Just hire these guys, stop looking, it gets no better. read more
