Would agree that the texture of the boba is a little inconsistent even within the same drink but it was still chewy and tastes pretty good. They do have a non dairy option in which they replace whole milk with oat milk. Average priced. This location is much easier to park at than the Waikiki location. It's probably the best custard in a boba drink you can find. So our go to is the #5 light ice (they will NOT do no ice, much to her dismay). Shake it!! Shake shake shake it!! 15 times.....I consider this a workout. Like a shake weight. If I order for her and I and shake both, it's reps, right? Our kids love all the other things - the strawberry mochi and the chocolate ones. And now they have egg tarts and cream puffs!! All are tasty and the egg tarts are warm....what a treat! The boba and egg tarts here are the best in Waikiki. Highly recommend. Most boba places in Waikiki are overpriced and not good but this is a gem! The egg tarts are the best I've had and I'm from the Bay Area and have had a lot of famous egg tarts! Egg tarts here are made fresh with a flaky crust. Very enjoyable. I ended up ordering the signature #1, #4, #8.. there supposed to be brown boba, pearl, and cream mouse. All drinks came with no pearl, no cream mouse. My friend and I got the Black sugar boba + pearl + tiger jelly milk with cream mouse drink. For $7 it was a unique blend of flavors and textures. Was sweet but not overwhelming and the tiger jelly was something I've never had before but was pretty good. I will say that it's not a typical type of drink. It has more of a richer flavor and I feel that I'd have to crave that "rich" flavor before I go back to buy it again. One thing I will doc a star on is that it took 20-30 minutes to get my drink ready and it wasnt too busy that night with only 1 or 2 customers that ordered before me. But staff was nice and gave helpful comments when I asked questions about the menu. Parking is easy, just getting out back on to the main street can be difficult during peak traffic time. I had a coupon on the back of my Safeway receipt to decided to come and try it out since my mom loves boba drinks. Lots of selection but the prices are pretty high and they don't have all the selections in the pictures. There is parking in the front and it's right off the main road with tables for relaxing at inside the shop. One of my go to's for boba in town, conveniently located on the corner of Vineyard and Nuuanu. In the same square as Papa John's. Something about the name of the shop, Tiger Sugar, that attracts me. Small cute shop with seating inside. You can put in your order at the kiosk or from the register. They also have pastries, I seen that they have cream puff, eclair, and something like a tart. Clear menu on the monitor, above the cashier and on the outside of the store on the window. They also have posters of their specials all over. I think I saw a sign, no public restroom. I would normally get the signature, and chocolate one, I think it's number 1 and 3. Great dessert to have on a hot day. Don't like the paper straws but gotta go green I guess. Recently tried the mochi one, the number 6, was okay, but wouldn't order it again. Hard for suck. Awesome customer service when walking in. Friendly and ready to help you. One of my favorite, if not THE favorite, spot for me to get boba nowadays. The service is quick and easy, you just order and your drink gets quickly made. I love taro, and it is very difficult for you to find places that use real taro in their drinks, often they opt for cheaper alternatives such as powder. They have very unique drinks, packed with different toppings. One thing I would note is, all of the drinks are quite sweet and indulgent. A very nice treat but I usually end up pacing myself as it feels more like I am eating the drink than actually drinking it. This is nowhere near a complaint though, as I love the taste and texture of the taro they add. The drink covers are pretty cute too, they had a hello kitty collab recently and still have some lid seals left so sometimes I would randomly be surprised with the cute design. The drinks itself are also beautiful but the cashier has also recommend us to shake it up before drinking it. They also have limited seating in the cafe, perfect to seat around and wait for your drinks but I personally wouldn't loiter for too long. Another thing I wanted to note is that they have only two sizes, large and extra large. The large is basically a small/medium at most boba shops so keep that in mind when ordering. read more

We've seen posts on IG promoting the new items. (Looking on their Company IG @ tigersugar.usa, there seems to be 4 paper cup designs in total in addition to the light pink, a dark pink, black and a stripey spotted black and gold). And also in the collab were 2 plushy 3D Hello Kitty face Cup Holders. (Their IG showcases 4 designs total, 2 with the Hello Kitty face and 2 with Hello Kitty's bow; in the colors pink and white or black and gold). Unsure how everything worked, I asked the female worker if we could order any drink with the Hello Kitty cups. She told me in a very matter of fact way that they were out of the Hello Kitty Crush drink, so yes, we could order any drink and put it into the Hello Kitty cups. Obviously this wasn't apparent to me at the time and that's why I asked *shoulder shrugs* Her customer service skills are mediocre at best. I said what I said. I asked her how much the plushy 3D Hello Kitty face Cup Holders were, she said $10. I thought maybe there would be some sort of promotion running where if you bought a drink, you could get a the cup holder at a discount. Nope, no promotion going on. So I bought the drink and cup holder separately. I ordered the #2 in XL, Black Sugar Boba + Pearl + Tiger Jelly Milk with Cream Mousse. The drink was in a light pink paper cup. The worker who made the drink kindly shook it for me. Tiger Sugar advertises 15 shakes for the perfect drink. I thought this was very nice of him to do instead of just telling me to shake the drink. Though, when I checked my receipt later, I saw that the cup holder I got was actually $12.99 and not $10 like the worker had said. Not sure if she was mistaken about the pricing? Or if the pink and white cup holder pricing varies from the black and gold cup holder? My Yelp buddy got the pink and white cup holder, that was $9.99. ***Edit: Though as another Yelper brought up to me, there is a promotion going on that after buying 2 drinks, the cup holder is $10. My Yelp buddy did buy more than 2 drinks, so this is why one of her cup holders was $9.99. I wish somehow this was explained to me better by the female worker at Tiger Sugar. I understand that miscommunication does happen.*** Overall, I'd say to skip the boba drinks here folks... it was very underwhelming. This was our second time here trying out their drinks. PARKING: it's not a big parking lot but I've never seen it packed ever so you should be fine. SERVICE: They do have a self order screen to the side but we just ordered at the register. The workers there are very nice & friend. We decided to come here because of the big jumbo boba. The drinks didn't look like the photo but it was alright. It's says boba balls but it's more like a really jumbo coffee jelly. It says it on the side so watch hahaha. My youngest & fiancé is very picking when it comes to brown sugar milk tea & when I tried it, it doesn't taste good. I don't know how to explain it but it's not like other places we've been going to. The service was weird. There were no other customers when we walked in and the server didn't acknowledge us. Server kept puttering around for a few minutes. I said hi a couple of times and no response. Asked if they were closed, no response. When they walked to the register to take our order the person just stared. No words were spoken at all. I asked for a drink a certain way and they just shook their head at me, I'm assuming to indicate they couldn't make it that way. I ended up canceling part way through the interaction and we left without purchasing anything. Not sure if it was a language barrier perhaps? Not worth it. You can't adjust the sweetness and they don't allow you to order without ice. I don't want my drinks watered down from the ice melting, so I order my boba tea without ice. Since I was worried about the ice diluting my drink, I drank my drink quickly. My 24 oz drink was almost half ice...and then it was hard to get the remaining boba because the ice was in the way. Ive always seen this place from the street and decided to stop by one night as their open to 9:30 PM daily. The lines were long when I first arrived. 1 cashier and 1 barista (is that what their title is?) behind the counted. Lots of brightly decorated signage in the store. Lots of featured flavors, signature drinks, and promotions for you to choose from. I picked a mango slushie? Also had a brown sugar milk tea. Prices were about five to seven dollars per drink not including extras like toppings, boba, etc. Flavor wise everything was what youd expect. Nothing amazing or worth noting. It was your average boba shop experience to me. Tables, bar stools, and counters for your leisure. About ten stalls available in front of the shop. Metered parking along the street if absolutely needed. Three stars because Im not sure what makes this place extra special? I have been driving past this place almost every time I drove to work and I always tell myself I'm going to stop here. It took a while but I finally did! So when you stop in at like 5:30 pm there's no line or stress for parking. I mean you could easily order ahead and do a grab and go but I'd rather look at the big menu and leisurely figure out what I want to get. For my first time I went basic and got their signature boba drink. It looks fun with the "tiger" stripes so of course I had to get a photo with the tiger. I really liked the flavor; I got it all regular sweetness, regular ice, regular everything. I enjoyed the tenderness of the boba; just the right amount of chewy for me. I also really liked how the milk tea and the sugar wall mixed when I shook it up. This was a nice treat and I would come back to try something else or have this drink again. Would prefer a stronger material to pop the cover open. I can see why Black Sugar Boba & Pearl Milk with Cream Mousse is considered their #1 best selling drink. Black sugar complements and masks the heaviness of pearl milk so when you're sipping the sweetness a reaction triggers the brain thoughts, "Wow! This is sooo good!" Or insert your own caption. However, once black sugar is stirred and ran out, then my brain was thinking, "Yikes! Pearl milk is too heavy for my sensitive tummy and boba just doesn't cut it." There's also #8 Matcha with Black Sugar & Pearl Milk with Cream Mousse. So tempted, yet restrained myself. If you love matcha, go for it! There was only one customer before me. Sloooooooooooooow. I've been to Tiger Sugar in New York and was expecting a similar experience. Boy was I in for a long wait. I think it took them around 30 minutes to make our drink. There were a couple of guys who ordered before us who were also getting very annoyed at the long wait time. They asked multiple times when it would be ready and the lady behind the counter kept saying it was almost out. I have to say that I'm not sure if I'll return based on that experience, but maybe since I've visited they've figured out a more efficient system. Once I got my drink I was happy. I got the brown sugar boba and it was great. There are so many boba places on the island that have the same drink so I don't think I'll be back unless I'm in the area. Tiger and sugar!? You've got me hooked! Regardless if there isn't a real tiger here, I absolutely love the name and even more so the boba drinks! This boba spot is very unique. Try #3 the chocolate malt brown sugar boba! It's not overly chocolates yet the small itty bitty pieces of the malt is the perfect touch. They always say to shake the drink before drinking it. After a couple shakes, it was warm but after stirring around the drink it soon became cold as always. I'm not sure what made the drink warm, probably the fresh boba but it's nothing to complain about after a good few shakes. We popped in on a Sunday as soon as the doors opened. I got #3, #7 taro, and a F1 mango smoothie. Hubby didn't care for his taro drink but it's great that they offer it here. He's not much of a boba fan and he always orders something with taro whenever I go to places like these. My son loved his mango drink. They should definitely start a rewards program unless they already have one that I'm not aware of yet. I'd totally make the far drive out here for their boba. I have to say that I'm loving their drinks. My favorite is the #2 with the coffee pearls. When I bit down on the pearls it released a little taste of coffee. The brown sugar, boba, and pudding was also good. It wasn't too sweet and I loved the creaminess of the pudding. My husband and son loved the mango drink. It's a cream based drink with bits of fresh fruit. Hey, you can't go wrong with mango and cream. The service was fantastic. The cashier took his time and explained all the different drinks to me because I couldn't decide. I asked him his favorite and he told me it was the brown sugar, boba, and pudding. So grateful to have found another awesome milk tea spot thanks to Yelp! My favorite drink so far is the #5 because the custard is so darn good. I like that the drink is not overly sweet and the boba has the perfect sweetness and chew. I also love that the boba is still warm! I recently tried the chocolate malt milk #3 and this is a close 2nd to my fav #5. Plus right now they have a buy 3 get 1 free deal going on... free milk tea, yes please! All of our go-to boba shops closes early so we decided to give Tiger Sugar a try. Pros: Opens late. No wait time at 8:30 PM. Ordered & got our drink in under 2 minutes. Empty lot, free parking. Convenient for us since we live right down the street. Cons: Drink size - their "Large" is really a small, so for boba lovers, you'd have to get XL to be satisfied. Price - our "Large" #5 was $6.25 after taxes. We got it to share & it was good, but just can't get over the size for the high price. Didn't feel worth it. The pudding that came with the drink was the highlight. Lack of customer service - this didn't actually affect my rating but just pointing it out. They didn't greet us. It was late so I get it, but it's still a little awkward lol. Overall, we'd come back, but as a last resort for whenever we crave boba but our go-tos are closed. Happened to be downtown and some members of my party were craving boba. Found this establishment on yelp. Luckily it was only a few minutes away from our last destination. Menu was easy to read. There were also some additional drinks to purchase that were listed on the front door and walls inside. There are only 2 size drinks available, medium ($5.97) and xlarge (Additional $1.43). Our order consisted of the following: 1. Boba pearl coffee 2. Mango sago 3 & 4. Black sugar boba + pudding milk with cream mousse. Unfortunately they ran out of taro pudding black sugar boba milk. So a Mango sago was ordered instead. Everyone really enjoyed their drinks, including myself. I ordered the pudding milk. I got to say I love the boba they use. Soft n slightly chewy with a nice mild flavor to it without being sickeningly sweet. The taste of my drink was phenomenal too! Who knew pudding in a drink could taste so good! Seating is limited here (only 2 tables). So expect to take it to go. Parking is right it front. Tiger Sugar which originated from Taiwan has finally landed on Oahu on the corner of Nuuanu and Vineyard where Papa John's Pizza is. I'm not a big boba drinker but fellow Yelpers such as Susan Y and Pamela L who are boba heads as I call them as they love their boba drinks said that I have to try it for myself as their drinks are really good. The Black Sugar Boba Pearl Coffee Latte came highly recommended. After I got the drink, the girl said to shake it before I drink it. Hmmmm I thought I was paying them to make my drink??? I found out that they wanted to keep that eye pleasing brown sugar walls that even Van Gogh would of been happy to have captured in a painting. Their bobas are a little smaller which was a pleasant surprise and the sweetness was perfect so no wonder they don't ask you for sweetness level as they already perfected it. Don't fix what isn't broken. They also only have one size for their drinks. Talk about keeping it simple as you don't have to wonder and think about all the small details to choose from like other places. I don't recommend the shakes. It's more so a chocolate milk w boba and whipped cream.. All the other bobas I've gotten here are great though. Theres no option to add extra boba or have other additive options, like jelly. My favorite is the simple black tea with boba at 50% sugar. Checked out @tigersugar.usa that comes in 3 flavors: *Chocolate *Espresso *Chocolate Espresso All drinks come with their boba that is mixed with their small and big boba. I enjoyed the chocolate espresso because the chocolate added a nice sweetness to the espresso. This is definitely a dessert drink so just note that milkshakes are normally on the sweeter side. Although it was good I wouldn't get this all the time over their normal drinks. Definitely not for the faint of heart so be aware of that. I got the Chocolate Espresso which is basically Chocolate...
