It has free shared parking and minimal air conditioning. There are all kinds of Asian snacks along the walls and some chairs for dining-in. I got a watermelon green tea. There was a strong tea flavor. The bitterness was naturally sweetened with fresh, pureed watermelon! It was perfect! The gal at the counter was very sweet. 3.5 stars Fresh fruit drinks and tea. I love their drinks and smoothies. Their last popular drinks are the pineapple teas and their fruit smoothies. The pineapple ginger green tea is one of my favorites. I also like their black milk tea. All their smoothies are good. Check to see what fruit is in season like guava or soursop. However I'm not a fan of their boba which is gummy. Their service is usually not very friendly and because I kept forgetting my stamp card, I got a bunch but they don't allow you to combine them which doesn't make sense. Express-ing it... Looking for some Pickleball...T-Mobile Tuesday's offer was a Pickleball set and after redeeming it this Salt Lake Shopping Center location I noticed that there's a Shaka Shaka Tea Express here as well actually right next door to T-Mobile. Walking in is so much fun as they also fill their shop with lots of Asian snacks and if you manage getting to the counter without stopping you're amazing...I usually get the black lemon tea but decided for the pineapple green tea instead with boba which I shouldn't have as it was too sweet for my personal preference and the little tiny pineapple bits was annoying but the boba was cooked perfectly and the chew was perfect. Like the customer before me asked for a stamp card as I didn't but wasn't offered one which was disappointing and not great customer service. The vibe in the shop is nice though the snacks seem to take over the counter space for you to enjoy if you choose to and though there are counter seating there isn't any tables like some of the other locations. Just stop by to grab some drinks and we bought 2 drinks lemonade green tea and 5 macaroons the staff aren't particularly friendly, after got a drinks We just sat at the table in front of the courtyard and we find a Mosquito!!! in one of our drink so I went back to them there were mosquitoes inside, but she just seems like she don't even care no apologize nothing. Ordered my food from Sun Sun Ramen that's next door to this place then came here to try their smoothie. As I was standing in line, the person in front of me was a friend of the worker and were literally talking stories...she could see a line forming. There were 3 or 4 people behind me but kept talking which I thought was inconsiderate to keep everyone waiting. After I gave her my order for a Honeydew Melon smoothie that comes with boba, went back to Sun Sun to pick up my food and it was ready so it's telling me that my drink order took a while. Went back to pick up my smoothie and it was also ready. The color of my smoothie looked different from all the other places I've ordered from. After taking my first sip, I realized that they use real fruit. I was disappointed because it hardly had any taste and it tasted watery. They may need to use more fruit and less ice. Overall, the worker that was talking to her friend was sweet but realized she didn't offer the drink stamp card (saw it in one of my pics), they made my drink in a timely manner but it was nothing special where I would want it again. read more

I have been here a number of times and sometimes forget to check in because I am so excited to get my drink. Shaka Shaka Tea Express is great place for smoothies, bubble tea or other drinks and snacks. Try the Macaroons as well, they are legit. I like Shaka Shaka Tea Express because they use real fruit. I have never experienced a long wait for my drink and or rude service. The drinks always come pretty quickly within five minutes or so, and the service has always been great. The store is stocked with all kinds of interesting snakes from various Asian countries. They are located in the Salt Lake Shopping Center and its close to where I live so it's really convenient to drop in and pick up a smoothie drink or a snack. My regular order is the Pineapple and Mango smoothie and its tasty and refreshing, especially with this warm weather lately. Last night I tried the Coconut Taro Don't forget to get a stamp card, I keep forgetting and now have two or three. I will definitely be back for more smoothies. Tried Shaka Shaka Tea for the first time today and got the Lychee Smoothie. It was so yummy and refreshing! They use fresh lychee flown in from the Big Island, and you can really taste the difference. Love how they use fresh ingredients. Plus, boba is free!! Located in a dated strip mall in Salt Lake it is easy to find next to Longs (CVS for mainlanders lol). Once you enter you are greeted one step-in lol. Shaka Shaka Tea Express allows you to mix Fruit Teas, sweetness levels to your liking. Drinks are crafted stat and before you know it's in my hands ready to be sipped. Cin Cin! Fruit Teas safely in hands we walk over to McDonald's next door for some Haupia pies. Tbh I don't even remember eating it, tho I do recall it was creamy delicious, and on my bank statement the next morning, just glad I didn't purchase two Yachts, and a hut in Bora Bora, or I'd have to explain it to my inner Mister Frugal self! $2 pies I can afford! Lol! The Fruit Teas were smooth and very fruity, the boba of good quality. I really enjoyed my drink and test tasting besties. I was the only one in the store & paid for my drink at 10:40. It took them 10 minutes to start making my smoothie when there was no one else. Right after I exited the store, someone ran into me and caused me to drop my smoothie on the ground. I immediately went back in the store and asked if it would be possible for them to make me a new one & told them what happened. They said they would have to charge me full for another. Awesome customer service by the gal behind the counter. She was so helpful trying to help me decide which one to get since it was my first time here. I ended up with the pina colada smoothie and it was a bit watery but tasted good. Flavor was great but my hubby's banana strawberry smoothie was way better. It's also very cute inside the store because they have tons of asian snacks. I loved how they had the japanese kit kats! You can't find those anywhere even at the Japanese grocery stores! They had the strawberry and matcha flavor. We tried the macaroons and they were not very tasty. Kind of tasted stale. I would definitely come back for the drinks next time. Located at the Salt Lake shopping center, Shaka Shaka tea is in the right spot to have a refreshing boba smoothie or tea right after shopping or dinner. I usually order the fresh watermelon smoothie because most places I tried would use the watermelon syrup when it is with tea, but this is the only place I found that has fresh watermelon (not syrup) green tea with boba included. Although a little more expensive than other boba tea places, I don't mind buying a drink here while i'm shopping here because of their fresh fruit teas and a variety of drinks to choose from. Service - The cashier had an off day, but was still very accommodating and pleasant even if it was busy today with several people ordering with only one cashier and one making the drinks so there was a bit of a wait. Shaka Shaka Dillingham has been my boba go-to for years. My favs include the jasmine milk tea, pineapple green tea, creamy watermelon; and just recently, creamy cantaloupe. Tonight I went to the Salt Lake location as they were open until 9:30pm, and Dillingham closes at 8:30pm. Opted for a creamy cantaloupe with boba. I had planned on also getting a pineapple green tea for tomorrow but they no longer seal their drinks, so I nixed that idea. Shaka Shaka Tea Express is my neighborhood tea shop. In college, I used to frequent their location close to campus so it was a pleasant surprise to discover a location near my place. After a long day, I decided what better way to treat myself than to check out this place and grab a drink. I arrived on a quiet weekday afternoon and was the only customer. Similar to their town location, their menu is posted at the front where you order, pay, and wait for your drink! The menu offers milk tea, pineapple mixed teas, and fresh fruit smoothies in medium or large sizes. You're able to choose your ice level and sweetness as well. Normally when I'd visit Shaka Shaka I'd get a smoothie but I was feeling something lighter, refreshing, and not too filling. After talking to the friendly, personable, and kind man at the register he helped me decide on a Pineapple Guava Green Tea with Boba. He told me they could add the guava in which was nice! My drink came out within minutes. The pineapple flavor was fresh, fragrant, and very present. There were even chunks of pineapple in it. The boba had a nice soft and chewy texture. It was the perfect pick-me-up. When I went in they were out of Mango. Next time I go, I'd be interested in getting a smoothie or tea with mango in it. I'm also curious how their milk teas taste but are glad to see they offer dairy alternatives (soy and almond milk). Entering the small narrow shop I was overwhelmed with a plethora of Asian snacks and baked goods. You're able to purchase them which is nice that they offer it. The shop operates as take-out only as there isn't anywhere to sit. But, outside there is plenty of seating in the Salt Lake Shopping Center. Service is an A+! The man working behind the counter was super sweet, patient, and great to converse with. He welcomed me to the area and offered me a stamp card. I'm looking forward to making use of it in the future! The lady at the register was very sweet and informative, she explained everything that went into the drinks and even where they got their ingredients from. Can't beat real fruit smoothies (no powder). They have seasonal specials so make sure to check the blackboard behind the register to see what's in season. A little pricey for a boba drink, but worth it since it's fresh fruit! They also have a bunch of Asian and local snacks on the shelves, and macaroons in the cold case-- can't speak to the macaroons but the drinks are why we come here weekly! Thanks to the other reviews, I had the advanced warning about the student crowd in the afternoon. It really wasn't an issue, the noise level was not bad at all and there was ample seating for two of us. Again, thanks to the other reviews I could browse the menu board and get an idea for what to order. I was a little surprised that durian was on the menu so I went there a little excited to try it. As it turned out, they did not have fresh durian so I settled for the fresh chico. If you haven't had that before, the salesperson describes it as cinnamon-ish flavored. It was good, I liked it! I'm such a boba snob given that I'm from the Bay Area (specifically the South Bay which is infused with boba shops at every turn). When we first walked in, the cashier seemed very unenthusiastic or maybe she was just disinterested? Nonetheless, she took our order in an uninviting way. Maybe she was having an off day. I ordered the Jasmine Green Milk Tea. The drinks do not come with toppings but you can add them as you please. There is a promotion in which you can add a free scoop of boba (although, they don't have honey boba). My drink tasted a lot more like milk than tea. I could barely taste the Jasmine tea. The boba had zero flavor or sweetness and the texture was too chewy for my liking. My brother ordered the Avocado Taro Smoothie and it was way too thick. The taro was masked from the avocado. Experience and purchase = average. Not good, not completely horrible but not distinctive enough for me to return to try other menu options. read more
