The new installment to the mochi series which was their Mango Coconut Mochi Smoothie was so refreshing! I think the coconut paired with the mango and mochi was a perfect iteration of a coconut rice dessert. The bits of mango chunks added texture and the mochi added some soft/chewy texture as well. Overall a great drink! I'm glad they are expanding upon the mochi series because I also enjoy their strawberry mochi smoothie which was what I usually order if I'm not feeling the vibe to get their boba which is excellent as well. Service is quick and if you order through QR code you don't even need to stand in line.

I ordered a ube taro brown sugar boba milk with lychee coconut jelly and regular milk. I asked for 50% less sweetness and the cashiers suggested I should just get 50% less boba because the boba is what made the drink sweet. This place is so cute. The drink was so good it made my eyes roll back. I love the jelly. I tried to make my drink last, but it was so good. I wanted to slurp it all quickly.

This was the second time I had tried The Alley since my cousin was craving their strawberry mochi drink and I wanted to see how my drink would turn out if I had changed certain things about my drink after how it went during my first visit (no fault of any of the employees). During my first visit I picked that I wanted actual tea in my drink because I honestly wasn't sure of what I was doing and although it wasn't the worst boba I had I wasn't in love with it either. So this time around I didn't get any tea and I did like my drink a lot more and I felt the actual boba itself was pretty good too with 1-2 that were quite soft but other than that it was great! When we got in I was a bit worried that the wait would be long since there were quite a bit of people waiting for their order but we probably waited 10-15 minutes at most so I would say it was a pretty good visit.

I've been down some alleys before but this one wasn't as decrepit. Came for their mochi promotion and though it was busy, the baristas were welcoming. The male employee with the glasses was --quite literally-- serving and was on point with the service. Would stop by again!

Here's a polished rewrite of your review: I have to say, I used to *love The Alley during their first few years here. Their ube brown sugar crème brûlée Deerioca was my absolute favorite, though it seems like the flavor has changed a bit over time. Today I had the ube taro brown sugar boba milk -- it was good, but it didn't quite hit the same as I remember. On the bright side, the store is clean and the service is quick, which is always a plus.

I haven't been to the Alley in years, but I was craving boba when we were at the mall. I like their kiosk ordering because they have pictures for everything! I got the brown sugar milk with boba, and this satisfied my craving. The boba was warm and chewy. There's some tables to sit inside but more outdoor seating throughout the mall. Service here was efficient and friendly!

The Alley at Ala Moana is a convenient stop, especially since parking and bathrooms aren't an issue. We ordered the Assam Milk Tea, Cocoa Cream Cold Brew, Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie, and mochi. Everything tasted good, but nothing really stood out as amazing. Solid quality and reliable if you're already at Ala Moana, but more of a safe choice than a must-try.

I am a MASSIVE fan of the alley. I used to go to the cafe often on the mainland and was happily delighted when I found out there was a location here on island. They have homemade jellies that are also hand cut. Far more superior flavor profile than the mass produced boba/jellies. The service is always excellent and the workers and very kind. Always ask if you have questions because they are more than willing to make recommendations. The aesthetic is very modern with the sleek counters and clean logo. I enjoy that the logo is a deer but it's not a woodsy vibe the the environment

I get drinks from here every so often. We were passing by today and the hubby just had to come in. On their window was a huge display of, The Alley, doing a collaboration with anime, My Hero Academia. They have three drinks: Deku's White Peach Matcha, Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight's Brown Sugar Creme Brûlée and Uravity's Berry Yogurt Frappe. We got two of the three drinks. We tried the white peach matcha and brown sugar creme brûlée. Right off the bat I liked the brown sugar creme brûlée much better. It was sweet and smooth. I could barely taste white peach in the matcha. It also wasn't sweet, gritty and bitter. I'm sure it was the healthier version of the two though. We also received a free pack of stickers with our order. My husband loved it and stuck them all on his water bottle. The drinks were around $9 each. We added brown sugar boba to both drinks.

I truly love The Alley. This is my favorite boba shop! The only thing I hate is that they only have one location in Ala Moana! They are located near Nordstrom and Jamba Juice. Park in the parking structure for easy access. I'm not always in the area, so when I am, I make it a point to get one. The drinks are very consistent. You never have to worry about it tasting different. On top of that, they offer milk alternatives. I always order oat milk! Woo hoo! My favorite go to is basically ube with brown sugar, custard, and boba. A dessert in a cup! They have some indoor seating and also a lot more items on their menu. They even have food items. They do have an app that you can order online. Makes it convenient if you want to grab and go. Their lines are also not bad as well. They started an order your own kiosk stand along with the cashier at the counter. Prices are of course pricey, but it is Hawaii, everything's expensive. If you are in the area, stop by!

One of my favorite boba places! We always go whenever we're in Ala Moana The ube creme brûlée brown sugar drink was sooo good ! That's my new favorite flavor. My son got the mango yogurt smoothie and he said it was good too. Seating is inside but is limited. Price is reasonable and service was prompt. Will definitely be back!

Went here on Tuesday and ordered the matcha. About 10$ for a matcha and I would not recommend. I asked for full sweetness and it was still bitter. The boba was not sweet either should be sitting in a sugar mixture. Service was poor even though I left a tip. I also tried my friends mochi drink and it was not good. Only drank it because I spend 10$. I do not plan on returning

I've been to the Alley a few times and tried a few different items but my 5/5 item was today with the ube crème brûlée taro milk tea. I used the online ordering app from the QR code at the entrance and it was ready within a couple of minutes. It's definitely a sweet treat and not something for every day but it was very good. The price is decent for Ala Moana because I know the rent is insane. I also appreciate no extra charge for doing soy milk. Small seating area is fine but if it's full there's usually plenty of seats outside in the courtyard area.

We luckily found parking along kapahulu so tried 2 new places: Aburiya Ibushi (9:30pm) and Cha To Gelato Zen (10:30pm). As we walked back to our car, we walked past Zen and noticed it was packed. And it was a Tuesday night! Great that there was a menu on the door so we could see what the excitement was all about. Appeared to be fancy matcha drinks and desserts with a gelato bar. Decided since we had free parking and the line didn't seem too long, grabbing a gelato to take home shouldn't take long. There was only 1 person working to serve the entire restaurant! She had to make every fancy dessert! Omg. But as I watched her, I realized that she was so sweet to everyone and worked very efficiently. We actually did not wait long at all, as there were only 3 orders ahead of us. When it was our turn, she let us sample the gelato flavors. We ended up buying twice as many scoops because they were all so delicious! Not cheap but tasty! We got the azuki (creamy because it's mixed with marscopone), black sesame, miso (taste kinda like caramel), and seasonal watermelon (only for August). The matcha chocolate was very unique. Didnt try the mango. My fav was the watermelon, which was more of a sorbet than gelato. Will definitely return to try their other desserts!

The service here was super nice as well! The staff was really thoughtful and insightful when helping me figure out which drink to choose. Huge shoutout for their operating hours, too--this was honestly the latest I've ever been able to do a matcha run, which is a massive plus when a late-night craving hits. As for the drink itself, the matcha I ended up getting didn't stick out to me quite as much as I expected based on other reviews. It was decent, just not a standout star on this particular visit. That said, with how great the staff, vibe, and hours are, I'm sure if I go back and try a different option, I'll find a drink that hits the spot. Definitely planning to give them another visit!

The ordering process was easy thanks to their amazing staff. Their guidance from online ordering to communication over the phone and text, they made our event successful and memorable. There was 5 of us , with a moderate appetite. So, We went with two orders of the "Catering - Sandwiches TO GO" and one order of the "Catering - Scones TO GO". Then our choice of their teas: 1oz Sakura Cherry Rose and 1oz of their Cookies and Cream, which is great with milk and sugar btw. 1oz =at least 12 pours of the tea. If you want 2oz =24 pours of tea. The sandwiches were also delicious, a cute tiny bite of flavor. Which to this day I wish I ordered more since I'm more of a savory girlie. You can choose the sandwiches from their catering or seasonal menu and it comes in 4 pieces. We ordered: Sandwich flavors 24 pieces 1 Sweet egg salad (4) 1 Smoked Salmon with Dill Creme (4) 1 Nutella & Strawberry (4) 1 roasted veggies & hummus (4) 1 Crab & Cheese (4) 1 Cucumber & Avocado (4) My personal Favorites were the Smoked Salmon with Dill Crème and Roasted veggies & Hummus. The scones only available flavors were vanilla bean & earl grey and it also comes with potted cream and jam packed in a to-go cup. The lunch menu for afternoon tea is so reasonably priced and starts with a salad, two flavors of scones with sweetened clotted cream and a strawberry jam, then 6 finger sandwiches and 3 dessert bites. I will say that the food was a relatively even hit or miss on taste but I did prefer the savory sandwiches to the final dessert options. It's heavy on the carbs but that's afternoon tea for you!
