We hired this company to repair our HOA's pool. After two pool-less years he did not succeed. I believe it was his first commercial job and he underbid it. He made many, many errors on our pool which caused it to fail inspection, missed inspections, and was not transparent and honest in his communication. We took him to the Contractors State Licensing Board and successfully claimed on his security bond. It was a tiresome experience. He changed his company name for awhile. We had five members of our community write about this contractor but Yelp took four them down as "defamatory" Whatever, Yelp. We have the paperwork to prove it happened. He may have improved his ways as he spoke extensively with our CSLB officer who did the settlement about what to do to improve. But use caution with this contractor and check his license to make sure it is up to date and he remains bonded. read more

I got my swimming pool remodeled by Tigershark Pools & Pavers and they did a really good job on it! At first I wasn't too sure how everything was gonna come out, but Ray explained everything pretty well and helped me understand what needed to be done. He wasn't trying to sell me a bunch of extra stuff, just told me what was important. The guys who work with him showed up on time andthey worked fast. The tile came out real nice and the new pebble looks way better that what I had before. They even fixed some things underneath the old plaster that I didn't even know was messed up. Before booking a job with Ray who has been EXTREMELY unprofessional, there are 2 important things to consider below as to why you should look elsewhere for a contractor: - Why has Ray changed his business name from Tigershark Pools Inc (a name his dad came up with as stated in the "About the Business" section) to Mobile Pool Shop?? - You may want to look at the one-star and "not recommended reviews" to see some truth as to why I wrote "unprofessional" as I'm not an avid Yelper leaving negative reviews all the time. My dad is a contractor & Ray gives these hard working contractors a bad name. List of issues our complex experienced with Ray: - 2 years from the start of his contract & our pool has been left in the state of the picture included in this review. Still unfinished currently & unable to be used by our residents. - One city inspector told us they cancelled our inspections because Ray didn't have the needed permits with him, which is a HUGE concern / not the way contractors carry out their projects. - Ray has poor organizational and communication skills, constantly not on time, prepared, & unresponsive. - Our prior HOA board, the city and county inspectors had required Tigershark to redo our pool drains twice. Ray blamed it on the inspectors giving unclear instructions, even said one was drunk. - Ray had requested prepayment on several phases of work, which is illegal. - Due to him delaying this project over the 2 years, our pool filled with rain, then grew algae over the winter as we waited for months for him to return and we had to pump it out. - On our next to last inspection Ray came on the jobsite without informing us, and brought a buddy's refurbished pool pump in to replace ours. After the inspector left, it turned out the refurbished pool pump didn't even work; had the inspector turned it on we would have failed inspection. - The last straw with Ray was when right before our final city inspection that would have allowed him to start plastering, he was unable to keep pressure in his newly installed plumbing. He then told us the pool needed nearly $17K of new repairs involving digging up the entire pipe at the bottom of the pool and sealing hairline cracks in the pool shell that had been there for months with staples and epoxy. - Ray told us he would refund us for 50% of the money we shouldn't have paid in advance for the phases of the project he was supposed to complete. Since then he has completely went dark & not responded. Our complex will be reporting him to the Contractor's State License Board to hopefully have his license revoked. Looking at the other 1 star reviews it seems this should've been done a long time ago, so no one has to experience what we went through. There are many professional contractors out there unlike Ray, just make sure to dig through reviews before booking any job. I noticed water leaving the Jacuzzi at a far quicker rate than evaporation. Changed a couple of things at the pool equipment but this changed nothing. I called several companies for leak detection, Tigershark was the most reasonable. Two days later, Ray arrived and found the leak quickly and opened the concrete up.Damn roots squeezed the life out of the PVC, creating an easy escape for hundreds of gallons of pool water a day. I have had a pool leak that has been bothering me for a long time. My pool is many decades old so you always assume the worst, earthquakes and all. Ray came out and methodically tested every line and even deciphered equipment that was there prior to our buying the house. I can't say enough about how pleasant my experience has been with this company. They had the best price for my issue by a few thousand dollars, and they did the work more quickly than expected. I'd like to point out that they also repaired a crack in one of the pool pump lines as a good faith gesture when I erroneously attributed the damage to them. I thought the crack occurred during their work on the skimmer, but Ray showed me a screenshot of a picture taken before the work commenced that also showed the crack. I called Ray to perform a leak detection in my pool. He charged me $500.00 to" supposedly" find the leaks. The invoice he provided indicated there were several leaks but didn't mark the areas where they were found. When I asked for a leak report, he said he was unable to tell me where exactly leaks were located and that he would need to demolish and break concrete fist! So I paid to be told what I already knew. We had our pool re-plastered and tiled by Tigershark and couldn't be happier. Ray was so helpful and understanding of our budget. On a side note I should mention if you are replacing plaster in your pool you must follow the pool start up steps and brush the pool very regularly for the amount of time recommended. I wasn't sure what was going on with my pool but I constantly have to keep on adding salt every week. After speaking on the phone with Ray he informed me that I most likely have a leak somewhere in the pool. He told me to turn off my automatic water fill and mark the water line. The very next day it was clear that my pool is leaking about 2 inches a day so I schedule an appointment. They came out did a thorough job physically went inside the pool to test for cracks and spent about six hours at my house. It turned out that I had a leak in my tile so they did a temporary patch job until I'm ready for them to come out and waterproof it and reset the tiles. Great job guys read more

Honestly, I dont know what happened. With all of the great reviews here, I had a completely different experience. Tiger Shark took over our pool service when ours was hurt in an accident. I suppose the first week was ok, but other than that the people he sent us were simply not qualified. What was worse was that it seemed to be someone new every week. The neck-tattoo guy was especially worrisome to my wife. There were some errors. Once the pool guy forgot to connect the "pool cleaner" hose and did not put the skimming filter in - the pump was PACKED with leaves which took me hours to fix and a week to get the filter right. Many times, they did not put the chemicals in that we had bought. Another time, they forgot to tighten the pump cap, and it ran for hours without being pressurized. I explained this to Ray with minimal concern. A few weeks ago, it was apparent that they had not come. I texted Ray who got back to me to tell me that he was sorry, but someone would be there the next week. A whole week went by and no one came again - the pool was looking horrible. I sent Ray a few texts to no response, and then called him. He explained that the person who was cleaning the pool "disappeared" and he did not know where he went and went on about how busy they were. It was at that point I'd had enough. And let him go. What we were looking for was some consistency and reliability. Perhaps this is the norm for Tiger Shark pools, but it was not my experience. read more

This place is a life saver in cold AND hot weather! My apartment complex was cute, but the maintenance and management were fickle at best. The pool and jacuzzi were great... when they worked. After some management changes it seemed like no one bothered cleaning or fixing the pool and jacuzzi for months. Finally, on a particularly cold day, I took it upon myself to contact someone and passed it on to the manager. This was the closest one, but with only one review at the time I was kind of hesitent to recommend it. When Ray came to look at the broken spa and dirty pool he was super friendly, knowledgable, and quoted a really good price (I do my comparison shopping, fellow yelpers ;). He fixed the motor and pump on the jacuzzi so it was nice and toasty and cleaned out the pool so it was sparkling again. He even did some PH or chemical checks while I was there but I don't really know what that entails, I was just happy to be able to swim in something decent (and safe) again. I've since moved out but my mom lives there, so my son and I visit nearly every week. My mom is overly conservative with the energy so we go to the pool area if weather permits. When it's chilly: relax in the spa. When it's a hot summer day: chill out by the pool. It had been about a year when I ran into Ray again the other. I had no idea they kept him on. He's still really sweet and remembered me, and since the building kept him I know I'm not the only one happy with the work. Bonus: Pool never smells overly chlorinated. read more
