I have been bringing my child to Tigon Martial Arts for a year and I couldn't be happier with the experience. This place has truly been a fantastic introduction to the world of Taekwondo for my kid. The instructors Master Cheung and master Sunny are top-notch. They are not only skilled in Taekwondo but also incredibly patient and supportive with the kids. Tigon Martial Arts teaches great technique, discipline and control to be the best! Master David and Master Sunny are amazing instructors and are so good with the kids. They take their time, making sure the kids have the correct techniques, by spending one on one time with them. My son was having a really hard time in elementary school with being bullied and he also struggles with mild Tourette's. They have helped him so much through the years with his self esteem, discipline and control and he is now working on his 2nd Degree Blackbelt. I have recently started classes myself and I am loving the challenge and great workouts! Everyone is so helpful and encouraging! If you are looking for a more personable studio that teaches great skills, technique, discipline, and control, but still has fun with the kids, I highly recommend this studio! read more

Oh my gosh we just found this studio and we love it. Master Chang is a miracle worker for my daughter. His wife and kids help him run the studio and are so cute and sweet. What a great atmosphere. My six-year-old ADHD daughter just finished her third private lesson with Master Chang. We also signed up for group lessons but my daughter has trouble focusing, is a bit overweight, and hasn't done a lot of athletics, so I first wanted her to do a few private lessons without being distracted by other kids or feeling like she's too slow or too far behind. She has LOVED all three of her private lessons. (And this is a kid who gets bored and lazy very easily. But she LOVES this Tigon.) Master Chang's teaching style is so fun and challenging, my daughter is focusing better and working harder than I've ever seen her do. He has her smiling and laughing while exercising and running laps. My jaw almost hits the floor... is this my child?? He uses techniques of "pretend" (like pretends he's chasing her or he's a bad guy trying to hit her while she blocks) and makes her laugh multiple times each session. He really challenges her yet he encourages her so lovingly and with adorable humor. He is teaching her some basics that I neglected to teach her like push ups, sit ups, and jumping jacks. She feels so proud of herself when she is done. Today as we walked out she said "I am really impressed with myself!" Tomorrow is our first group lesson. We got a package deal for all the group lessons, but the private lessons are such an awesome miracle for my daughter that we might just continue more of those. I'll add to this review once we've done a few group lessons, to report on how my A.D.H.D. child does with those. But bottom line we LOVE this studio!!! Oh and your child will learn to count to ten in Korean. My daughter is THRILLED that she is learning to say things in another language! NOW ADDING TO MY REVIEW AFTER TAKING OUR GROUP CLASS: The group class was also really lively and fun, maybe even moreso! There was awesome lively music, and Master Chang is as adorable and funny as he is during the private lesson. One really cool thing is that when the time came for the kids to perform their memorized routines with punches and turns, he picked up a large drum, and as the children performed their memorized routine with punches and turns, he counted each step with a drum beat and encouraged them to have "power!" as they did their moves. It was a really cool touch to make it extra fun and interesting. However, back to the ADHD-specific part of this review: my daughter definitely spaces out more in a group setting, especially when asked to sit and watch other kids / wait her turn. But there's really no way to avoid this in a group class. So maybe we'll do more of Master Chang's awesome private lessons in addition to group. But some things are just way better in a group setting like the chants that all the kids yelled together, promising that they will "Focus! Listen! Try my best sir!" And running around to music together. Super fun. This is just a really nice studio with a sweet family staff and the parents of the other kids are really nice bunch too. I really recommend this place highly! read more

total rip off, classes are only 20 mins and all he does is run them around in the class room that is filled with dirt. He has some event every month that he cuts classes and over charges for things that he tells the kids that they need. Do not take your kids to this place. He commits you to a contract that has a lot of hidden fees. read more

My son has been building his confidence while learning martial arts with Masters David and Sunny Chang. The $99 intro special for 9 weeks has been a great way for him to get started for a low amount. We also needed to invest another $50 for his outfit. He gets to visit twice a week under this program. In a few short weeks, he has learned how to kick high and how to defend from getting hit. I like that Master Chang also promotes listening to us as parents, to answer with respect "yes sir" of "yes ma'am", and to constantly try their best. read more

good Family atmosphere, great instructors, lots of fun. I've enrolled all 3 of my daughters this year, and so far they are loving it. They have got to compete in a competition and have made some good friends. I recommend this for any parent looking to get their kid into martial arts and have a good time doing it. The only negative is the testing costs each time. So be prepared to fork out some cash for every belt test. :/ Otherwise, we love it! read more

My family has been members for 5+ years. It is a high quality World Taekwondo Federation & Kukkiwon dojang. Adults, teens, & children benefit in many ways from the program. I am surprised by some of the things said in the other reviews. My son just finished the 9 weeks for $99 and we never felt anything but love and acceptance from Master Chang and Master Sunni. They are amazing with the children and have taken extra steps with my son to conquer his shyness. They never pressured me about the tuition to continue. As a matter of fact, I had to ask her to to sit down with me and go over the cost of continuing.......I with hold my judgement on belt advancement till I experience more......I also signed my son up to attend their afterschool learning academy after seeing the well behaved and displined children in there happily doing their school work. I am struggling to get that same atmosphere at home for my kindergartner with 3 yr old twins causing distraction. I want him to start his education with good study habits. This place is great! If you want your child to learn the craft and increase their self-esteem and confidence all while having a blast , then this place is for you. I had a bit of a 'sticker-shock' moment when I saw the full year tuition price, however, when looking at other studios prior to signing up, they were very competitive in the end. My daughter is already training for an up coming competition after joining 5 weeks ago. If the kids advance quickly, its only because they EARNED it! Not because the parents paid money. My child tested, and nailed her form 100%. Money didnt earn her belt SHE did. This place is awesome! They also emphasize on attitude, respect and self-control . The instructors are great with the kids. The kids do have a good time and do learn. However, I feel that too many kids advance to another color belt when they are not ready. I understand that it is a business and they need to keep kids and parents happy to continue to succeed. Also, be prepared to spend extra money on belt testing (every 2 months) and sparing equipment. I originally started my kids in Tigon because of bullying issues at school. Tigon arranged for private lessons in self defense that really helped build their confidence. We loved them so much we signed the boys up for the regular classes. My husband signed up too. The teachers are respectful, helpful and amazing teachers. The teachers are fantastic with all age ranges and they have lots of fun too. I would absolutely recommend them. read more

I have been in taekwondo for many years and have been with this studio for nearly 2 years now. As an older adult I have found this school to be the best! Masters Sunni and Master David will work you hard, but also make it enjoyable. The other members become a family and you can't wait to get there! The other review surprise me, number one, you will not find ANY school that does not charge for each belt test, they must charge for the cost of the belts and the boards, and it is, after all, a business. The kids love them, as do the adults. It is a great warm and welcoming place to go. Highly recommend. read more
