Gnachas! I had never heard of it and didn't know exactly what I was going to get. I read the description and it seemed good. What took me aback was that it said there was parmesan cheese and it definitely was NOT. Apparently this is a traditional Guatemalen dish, like a snack. I was SOO surprised that so much came on the plate. I thought it was an appetizer, so that was surprising. The red sauce was SUPER good also. I tried it on one tostada and then another. It came out warm and the veggies cool and fresh. Like coleslaw without the mayo. Definitely would want to come back and try another dish. I was in a rush, so I ordered the first thing that popped up. Had breakfast the other day at Tikal Bakery in Annandale. We both had the "Latino" breakfast (Chorizo, plantains, refried black beans, two eggs and two thick tortillas - not pictured). The beans were a little on the salty side, but not a problem if spread on the tortilla. Also tried a pastry from their bakery counter. Some kind of layered, broken phyllo crumbs with white butter cream. It was tasty and went well with coffee. You'll need to eat with a spoon or fork and crumbs land EVERYWHERE! My wife somehow managed without dropping any flakes. We also had to try their pupusas and got the pork and cheese. One of the best pupusas we've had in the area! The masa was patted down very thin and the filling was thick and packed with pork and melted cheese. VERY HOT! Good thing we did an hour workout! My wife told me when she lived in the area, she would never go in there alone as their dine-in clientele was all male latino day workers. Aside from the waitresses, she was the only woman there. They had steady take-out business and families would just pick up and go. It's a pretty small place, so not really good to have small children there. The hipsters have not yet found the place, so they don't spend a whole lot on decor. Overall a nice hole-in-the wall place with good prices. NOTE: All the times I have come here, the service is REALLY SLOW. Expect to wait maybe 10-15 minutes to get the check on busy days. Plan your schedule accordingly. read more

I ordered camarones a la plancha and the menu stated that it was 13.95. When I pick order I was charged 17.49. Menu was picked from restaurant the day before. Cashier stated that prices changed and she couldn't do anything for me because owner were not there. Came in with group of friends for a drink. The waitress informed us that they don't make mixed drinks. One friend ordered a beer but the waitress acted like she ordered a bucket of beer and walked away. We quickly went to them to fix it but they said she already put in the order so we couldn't change it. The beers weren't even in the bucket or opened yet. Then when she brought the check she quickly cleared the table but then sat and watched us pay the check. Awful experience. read more

Worst customer service I have ever had. We ordered for delivery and we didn't receive the orden completed, we were missing 2 of the 5 items we ordered. When we called the restaurant a rude Spanish lady answered, when I explained her what happen with our order she started yelling saying that she didn't de what was the problem. As a customer I am not willing to come back and order there never again. We spended $89.46 plus $15 dollars of tip. Even if the food is good I will never recommend anyone to come here. read more

Stopped by late morning to try their breakfast menu. I was pleasantly surprised. Bakery is a small portion of what they carry. They have an extensive menu that serves breakfast to dinner. I tried their Latin breakfast and enjoyed it very much. The cheese was homemade along couple other things on the dish. I don't know if it was authentic so I assumed it was. It took the waitress like three hours to get us food did not check up on us that much charged me twice and when I called to get it fixed the manager was rude and I had to speak with the waitress who took me last night for her to explain to me what was going on and the food was not that good and over priced read more

Horrible rude service.I came in and sat in the dining room bar area next to two customers complaining about how rude the server was,I almost left but I decided to stay because I was running late,I had to flag the Bartender/server to place my order after several minutes of wait,I ordered, Steak and cheese,rice instead of fries and an egg over easy on top,She immediately gave me attitude about me making the substitution and told "this is going to be the last time we make changes like this in an order",even though I have ordered like this before,My order came and I noticed that the egg was over cooked almost burnt and I asked her to make me another one which she did.When it came to pay for the bill I noticed that she had charge me for an extra egg which I complained but she rudely said that it was my fault for not telling her the temperature,which I clearly did I didn't have time to argue with her nasty attitude and I just paid the bill leaving no tip,If you want to order food here do it carry out if you want to avoid a bad experience,the service here is rude,lousy,the bar drinks are overpriced and weak I still don't understand how they getting five stars in their reviews read more
