Check in was easy and efficient and our room was in the adjoining house with a large great-room that was stunning available to everyone staying there with a fireplace, large kitchen, sitting area and dining table. I loved that their sign said to please vacate by 9pm bc our room was on the third floor directly across the hall from it and right beside the community half-bath servicing it and the room had no soundproofing at all. You could hear even minimal talking from that great room (and it doesn't have a door). That is my only complaint about this Inn. The provided breakfast daily was wonderful. The first day we had quiche and the second we had chocolate chip pancakes. All made fresh when you sit down and included sides, coffee, fruit, and yogurt. Really delicious and good quality and the staff were so nice. My husband is diabetic and they easily modified the options to meet his lower carb/sugar request. They also have daily evening tea with a sweet treat which is fun and coffee, tea, and lemon water are available all day and night. Our room was beautiful and looked exactly like the photos and the inn is so charming. Perfect landscaping, all common areas are so cute, and the location is to die for right on the beach, with access to the sand just steps from the lovely wrap-around porch. We were unlucky and it was basically a freezing Nor'easter the weekend we came, so we didn't get to enjoy the beach, the bikes, or any of the out door amenities - but we still found it charming and enjoyed both the Inn and the town. Hopefully, we can come back again in the fall and enjoy milder weather.

I felt like I was in a 5 star hotel, but even better, it is an old charming, turn of the century, quaint home experience. Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. Amenities are great at no extra cost - I took advantage of their bikes and yoga mat! I love that they invite you to stay after check-out to continue to enjoy the property. And watching the sunrise over the water was the icing on the cake. Normally, their rates would be beyond my budget, but with the WinterEscape promotion of 20% off, it was very reasonable. It is very quiet with adequate parking. The beach is 200 feet from the back door and was never crowd. Gentle slope into the ocean and life guards gave us a feeling of safety. The private beach area in the backyard allows for private activities but also shared games with the neighbor kids. The pool was clean but not very big and some of the lounge chairs are broken. Shops, restaurants, and theme parks close by.

Does the hotel have a ton of accommodations? It does not. Some rooms have full bathrooms. Some rooms have just a toilet and shower in a space small enough to be a closet with the sink outside of the tiny bathroom. Staff isn't present 24/7 like most hotels, so if you need anything you have to be sure to request it prior to 4:00pm. Basically, you spend a lot of time on your own. With that said, however, the staff truly are the friendliest people. From the front desk to housekeeping and even the maintenance man, everyone was so kind and would converse with you like you were part of their family. The overall comfort was very much appreciated. The Beach Walk will definitely become your home away from home rather quickly. The best thing about the Beach Walk, however, has to be the location.

The elevator is located in the middle of the building, so you may want to unload your car near the loading area when you arrive. The dumpster is a little far from the units. It is near the street in the parking lot where you first come in. Overall Diamond Head is a decent place to stay on 80th St.

The condo actually looked 10 X better in person than in the photos they had posted. The condos had one assigned parking spot but parking was easy to find on the street. We are staying here on the season's opening weekend. The room is clean. The AC/Heat cranks (although doesn't stay on 25/7, it cycles a few minutes at a time, which is interesting), the bed's traditional mattresses feel new and firm. Ample pillows, decent sheets, etc.. There's a big 3 drawer dresser, a table, a couple chairs, blackout curtains, you get the picture. We have a medium sized flatscreen with basic cable (and oddly Comcast lists far more channels than you can actually view), and the TV has ample jacks to bring along a Firestick or DVD player for those wanting more. The shower and a big enough for the shower chair that we brought with us, which is always nice. Water pressure and heat was all that you could want, but they do have what I'd call 1970'a era shower heads. So if you're wanting more there, maybe bring your own of you're the industrious type. Our shower heads would 'whistle' like a hot tea kettle almost the full time it was in use. Maybe that's hard water build up, but it looked to be free of that. The front desk staff was warm and welcoming. The online booking was flawless and a request I included in the reservation was almost immediately answered by a human, which was nice. If you're looking for an affordable place to stay while hitting the beaches or events up and down the coast here, you couldn't pick a more easily accessible and accommodating spot. I'll note that I didn't mention the pool as our stay here has been in the 50s and 60s. It looks great, but that'd be best to try out later into the summer. Give them a try if you're lucky enough to find a room available.

It may be because it was the end of the rental season and the stains may just need a thorough rug cleaning. Contrary to the picture, there are brown jute carpets in the living room and dining room covering the wall-to-wall carpeting presumably to minimize the amount of stains during the season. If it weren't for the stained carpeting throughout, I probably would have given it 5 stars. The layout is good and the apartment is well appointed. Having a wrap around balcony was great because we had a full-on view of the beach and views of sunset from the side balcony. The balcony furniture was very comfortable. The doors leading to the side balcony also brought more light into the living room which made it bright and cheery. We will probably rent the apartment again but hope the carpeting is in better shape next time. Could probably avoid this by renting early in the season as opposed to the end of the season!

The lobby feels as you'd imagine a lighthouse to feel. There's a sitting room / "study" off the lobby, coffee, tea and cookies are available there with porch seating overlooking the water. Bicycles onsite are available at no cost during our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable. Whirlpool tub in the bathroom a king size bed and patio seats. Amenities are shared with The Edge Suites. Footbridges over the wetlands connect both hotels to Fager's Island Bar & Restaurant. The Property is off the main streets, secluded but close enough to enjoy.
