We went to 3 different spots. I wish we could have switched to try some sharks but I think they were waiting to max out on snappers and there were a few people not catching anything so we never did. Overall we had a super fun trip. We went back last weekend with my husband, son, and daughter. No one else had signed up for the 8hr trip so we got bumped to the 4hr. We were a little disappointed but I guess you can't control those types of things. Headed out about an hour. As soon as we dropped our lines me and my son's gf hooked bonnethead sharks! After that my hubby, and daughter caught one each. We hooked some bait fish and my hubby hooked a Mangrove Snapper. Only my son didn't catch anything. We all still really enjoyed ourselves! We can't wait to plan another trip! Both trips, all the guys were super nice and helpful. Sometimes you have to wait a bit if everyone's catching at the same time, but they try to get to you as fast as possible to unhook your fish and rehook your line if it snapped. The boat was great, Nice snack bar with clean seating area and AC. The crew was friendly and attentive. Snack bar takes CC or Cash. There was plenty of drinks to choose from as well as some sandwiches, chips, pickles and candy. Con's - absolutely no outside food or drinks allowed (they check your bags), however the snack bar was reasonably priced. The boat can be over crowded causing lines to tangle. the boat does not go to any rigs -but they do go to wrecks and reefs. Advice, be sure to sit in the back of the boat on your way out to fish or else you will get drenched. Take pictures of your string and snapper numbers so there is no confusion. Take pics of your fish so there are no questions about if it is yours or not and watch for your your fish when you dock and they are being distributed. There are a lot of these tours and they all pretty much take you to the ship channel but this one has a water trough down the middle of the boat and the boat guy drops a net and hauls in some rays and fish that they place in the water and they allow the kids to touch and teach them about the different fish. Not like a boring lesson just what they are and such. A big ship came through the ship channel and my granddaughter got to see a whole pod jumping and playing in front of the bow of the ship. We made reservations about three days before our visit and were told to show up at 930am for our 10am tour. We got our kids up and drove 25 minutes to the dock, sunscreened my two excited kids only to be told that their boat was dry docked and wouldn't be going out. Listen, I get that unforeseeable things happen. But the inability to contact me in any way shape or form to explain this before our wasted time and gas to the dock is inexcusable. They said we could come back for the evening tour with no other considerations like a discount or anything for the trouble and trip. Well, we are indeed coming back for a sunset tour but its with another boating company. I would not trust your reservation with this company especially if you are making a drive to see them.
