Had to give these guys an update as I hadn't been in a few months and oh boy has their stocking changed! If you watch any YouTube videos or have seen any extreme monster fish on TV, rest assured Tiki has them. I'm talking about Arapaimas, Dovii (Wolf) cichlids, Nile Perch, Arowana's. You name it, they have it! I was shocked when I went in yesterday and saw all of these incredible fish for sale. I also ventured to their reptile section for the first time and was impressed with the large turtles, birds, and bearded dragons that they have. I picked up a Lwanda (Yellow-tail) African cichlid and a nice Bolivian ram for my smaller tank, with 2 java ferns. Like I said in my previous review, they are always willing to cut a deal and have the lowest everyday prices on most dry goods around. !!! RED FLAG WATCH FOR SCAMS!! My family has been a long time customer through the years and always go here so I am sad to write this review. I bought $5 worth of guppies and was distracted while he filled the bag so did not watch the store owner fill it. When it was brought to the counter, it looked suspiciously sparse (it's 12 guppies for a dollar, so I should have received 60 guppies.) I didn't say anything because I didn't want to accuse- I thought maybe it just looks that way in the bag. I also bought an aquarium prop that did not have a price sticker on it, but the matching item on the shelf (I grabbed a different color) said $12.99. He went over and looked at it, and rang me up. My fault for not checking receipt until I went home. He rang it up for $18.99. I then emptied the guppies into my tank and did a guesstimate count- it truly was closer to $3 worth- peeked at the receipt he ALSO charged me $1 extra. I asked for $5, he charged me $6 AND gave me only $3 worth. Needless to say me and my family will no longer be frequenting this store and will have to find another place unfortunately. It is truly unfortunate he chose to do this, for a measly $7 dollars he just lost our business of hundreds (we buy all our tanks/feeders/fish/food biweekly from here) read more

Cheap fishes but you know what they say, you get what you paid for. The fishes here are cheap for a reason. I bought angelfishes, guppies, cories, Bella sharks, gouramies, puffers, and dew more and literally ALL had some kind of diseases! I bought them all at different days and after multiple trips and they all had diseases. DO NOT BUY FISHES HERE!! You will regret buying multiple and you will just waste your money! The two old men are rude and don't help much. All the times I've been here, they don't answer questions nicely and they never have stocks of what I need. The tanks also has at least one sick fish. Workers were nice and prices were fair. When i said i was looking for certain size of rocks he pulled some from his tank, but it wasn't the color i wanted. I felt obligated to purchase them. I asked about plants, but there was a language barrier so i hope i got one thay will survive on my lighting. The main reason why it gets 3 stars is because its not clean. Looked at the exotic pets and i felt bad for them. There was a reptile (water dragon?) with mouth rot and spiders covering where they keep the bird houses. Sorry for the short review but I need more beer. Awesome store! Had to help a friend with an emergency salt water fish problem and this was the first thing that popped into my Yelp app on the iPhone. Thank God for my iPhone! Ran down and grabbed what we needed... have no fear, the fish and other sea life creatures all survived! Grabbed new salt, grabbed new rocks, grabbed some funky filter thing that does weird things with the water and other liquid things that do things to the water stuff...and we were off! Long story short, this shop saved the lives of many fish in a desperate time of need. Do you get that?! Fish were SAVED! Lives were saved and families brought together. Homes were kept scarred. Marriages were rekindled, and in the end... peace was brought back to a small world, in a friends home...that could have tragically been lost if THIS SHOP DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THEY WERE DOING! This place is pretty good. The selection of fish is above average. They have some datnoids, bichirs, baby jardinis, gars, and other harder to find fish. The tanks looked pretty clean to me. The selection of supplies and dry goods is pretty impressive. They have a bunch of filters and I got a good deal on a high capacity filter (500 gallons per hour). Remember: ALWAYS bargain at fish stores, especially if the owners are Asian. If you pay cash, you're even more likely to get a good deal. At the very least, ask for NO TAX. They have a lot of birds and reptiles in the back, but I wasn't interested in those. The owners are pretty cool and didn't mind me asking them a dozen questions. Their sons look kind of intimidating (they look like MMA fighters) but they know their stuff about fish too. read more

This review is from a freshwater owner's point of view Of all the local fish stores that I've been to (trust me ive been to all of them), this place has the most honest employees ive ever encountered. They were willing NOT to sell me a certain fish because they wanted me to have a healthier one that they were getting shipped in. This fish store has been around forever, it seems. Way back in high school when I started in the aquarium keeping hobby, this was one of the places I'd visit and buy fish from. My friend and I would ride our bikes to this store just to look around and see what they had. I haven't been back to Tiki's since the mid-90s or so. That last visit, I bought a good-sized red-tailed black shark--a BEAUTIFUL fish. That fish lasted me a while. I also had purchased live food from them, like brine shrimp and tubifex worms. The store itself isn't very big but they do have a good selection of freshwater fish. They also have a smaller salt water fish aisle outside the main fish room. I don't know if the people who were working there during my last visit all those years ago are still there, but they were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Poor selection of fish, no anemonoes or corals. The place was very dirty and the workers were idle instead of cleaning the place. Many dead fish on display... They also carry reptiles and rosehair tarantulas, but the cages are improper for the reptiles. read more

Love this place! I alway buy my fish there. Now I buy my mice too. The men are nice & helpful when I'm unsure on what to get. Good prices with chance of barter. Nice selection of koi's in the back of the shop bought 5 of them for ten bucks each that were pretty good size originally cost 15. Didn't really see a big saltwater collection but didn't mind. The freshwater collection is average but sometimes they do have some nice fish with good prices. They seem helpful with informing me about certain types of fish and greetings. Only been there twice but average experience my journey continues. First & foremost, they close at 7pm, not 5pm. They have a decent selection of betta fish. What got me was their price on these suckers! 5.99 for half moon and dumbo ear bettas. 1.99 for male bettas. I'm unsure if they sell their female bettas but the do have them as well. Everyone is friendly and helpful. They range from tropical fishes, reptiles, feeders, plants, birds, bunnies, and probably more things I'm forgetting! Prices are too good to turn away! I'll be back! read more

This is 100% and with all honesty the best store ever for any fish needs and they also have some types of reptiles, scorpions and tarantulas. I've given them fish that I wasn't able to care for anymore and some that just outgrew my tank and they are more then happy to help wether it's with that or with any questions that I have. I've been in this hobby for about 2 years now and I always want to go into fish stores (as we all do) and a lot of the owner or workers are very helpful but with Tiki's they just go above and beyond and they're soooo knowledgeable on both fresh and salt water. Great selection. No guarantee like Petco or PetSmart, I had a fish die one day after bringing it home but they wouldn't replace it. But they are about 25% cheaper than the major stores. Staff is pretty friendly but the store can use some cleaning. read more

Tiki's isn't as pretty or as big as some other local tropical fish stores (like Strictly Fish for instance), BUT it's got a great selection of fresh and salt water fish AND you cannot beat the prices. Plus, you can haggle! Who doesn't like a deal? I'm cheap! Seriously though, I've got a fresh water set up and this place is where I go for almost everything. Their are three or four employees and this is not a big shop, so there's always personal attention and someone who is willing to answer your questions. You'd be amazed how many different species of fish they cram into the shop. The selection is fantastic, especially for salt water fish. If you're looking for a good fish store and don't want to drive all the way to Huntington Beach, then this is a really good local alternative. read more

If I rate this place as a reptile store, I would've gave it 2 stars. But since it's a fish store... well... I just kind of scanned the fish tanks. They all looked healthy and I didn't see any dead ones floating. They had alot of tanks, corals, and all the jazz for decorating aquariums. I came here to get some crickets for my frogs. They have huge crickets and are only 20 for a dollar! Take that Petco! (they charge 1 dollar for 10) They had a bunch of WC tree frogs. It was horrible, they had open sores and there was like maybe 20 to a tank with an inch of dirty murky water. They had a baby Burmese python. A couple of tarantuals, lizards, and snakes. Usually the common ones like corns, beardies etc. As a reptile fan, I would recommend this place for getting feeders. Although they don't have rats. Fish was fine, reptiles sucked. read more
