Only thing that's off is that I had bought 2 large mystery snails and they ended up eating the other snails in the tank which makes them a true mystery since mystery snails aren't usually carnivorous against their own kind. read more

Went in to look for a Flowerhead Fish as a gift and was delighted to see that there were a few in the store. As I was taking a picture and video of the fish to send to my family, the shop owner yelled at my Mother and I, "Are you gonna buy the fish or are you just gonna play with it? Unlike you some people need to make a living." I'd be surprised if you could make a living treating customers like that as a business owner. This was all because we were laughing and taking a video of a fish we were genuinely interested in purchasing. I wasn't able to get the fish right then and there but asked if he could save it for me and I would come back later that day to get it and he did . The store is now clean, the shelves now have a good variety of items, there are nice new tanks, new rimless tanks, very clean used tanks, driftwood, real rocks, specialty gravel/substrate, live plants. Their fish stock rotates regularly so there is always a good variety and something new all the time. Leo takes the time to find quality fish and offers them at great prices. They have koi and fancy species of goldfish. This is a fantastic neighborhood tropical fish store that you should definitely check out if you are in the area. Original Review: The previous owner Jerry was an amazingly helpful guy and I have nothing but good things to say about him, He sold the store at least 5-6 years ago. I recently got back into the fish hobby and stopped into this store... Now first off I have to speak about the owner and his wife. They are the most lazy store owners I have ever met. They just sat there the entire time, when I would ask a question about something they would ignore me or just answer in the shortest possible answer ever. Second they treat the fish so poorly, I don't know who in the world would even consider buying a fish from this place. 80% of the tanks have no lights, the glass on the tanks looks like it hasn't been wiped off in years, I doubt they even do any tank maintenance. Third product selection is the worst of any fish store i have ever been to. I could go to a swapmeet petstore that doesn't even specialize in fish and find a wider variety of items that haven't been sitting on their dusty shelves since they bought the store years back. read more

Overall: The store was mediocre. They had a pretty good selection of both saltwater and freshwater fish. The store was dark and the lights on all the saltwater fish were off (it was 3 in the afternoon). He was asleep the entire time. Is it worth the visit? Yeah, probably if all the lights were on and I could see what was there BREAKDOWN: Fish: The best part about the store was also the most frustrating. The fish were organized well, but I could not appreciate most of them because of the lights were off. Healthy looking fish however so I can't complain. The selection was also pretty good. Leo is very knowledgeable and pretty realistic about setting expectations. I've finally purchase my very first salt water tank, no reef yet but picked up a Dwarf Lion from him along with the Aqua Japan setup. I'm very pleased with the extent of service I've received. They went and took the time to make sure it's the color and size I wanted (Dwarf Lion) and helped me prep the tank before pick up. (2-3 week) process and well worth the wait. I'm very happy with my tank and dwarf lion (it's been about a month since my tank has been set up at the office since I picked up from this place. so excited that even after Leo warned me about putting a Goby in my size tank with my Lion is a risk. So I did and my Lion Fish ate it, pretty hilarious but it was a learning experience. Double check your information and take your time with your set up, give them look and they'll help accommodate what you're looking for. I'll be back for my reef tank (hopefully sooner than later!) read more

I don't have the time to write reviews, but this kind of crap I'll make time for. Here it is.... Husband and wife owners of this store are not friendly. The wife is a bitch (sorry for the language, but there's no other word to describe her). Right before stepping into the store with my 2 grown nephews and my 2yo son (in my arms), the wife greeted us with her angry mug face and said, "don't touch anything!" Wth? Lol She's not a happy person lol So I tried taking a picture of their sign outside the store. She came out and said, "don't take pictures. Ask me first!" LOL. I said that the reason why I was taking a picture was to send to my husband so he knows where to go to buy a fish for our son. It's easier to send the pic!!! So then I asked the lady if she was selling her fish. She said, "yes!" So I replied to her, "Goodluck with that. Change the dirty water in your fish tanks and at the same time change your attitude!" EDIT: You know what, this store isn't all that good. I come to this store for one reason, one fish -- the super red severums. This store always gets nice ones for some reason. But their other freshwater fish aren't all that good. The worst thing about the store is that most of the tanks have dirty water. Even when I see a fish I want, I think twice about buying it because the fish might have some disease. I always think: These guys should just do a water change or get better filters. But everytime I go there, the water's dirty. The owner is nice enough, but the selection of freshwater isn't good and the store should be a lot cleaner. read more

New ownership by a church pastor/fish hobbyist. This guy isn't just about selling you stuff, he knows and loves fish. Has some of the most BEAUTIFUL elephant ear bettas that I picked up for $7 each. These things go for $20 at Petco and aren't half as pretty as the stock they have here. He has mosquito eaters for cheap for outdoor ponds, as well as a good selection of Koi and such. Good selection here for good prices. Very happy with recent purchases here and I will come back regularly. read more

I don't recommend buying from this store! From my experiences with them, they don't seem very trustworthy. My recent visit was about 2 weeks ago. They got some massive tanks there! They have this huge one that has a couple of baby black fin sharks and huge lion fish. On the bottom there's two 3-5 feet nurse sharks. Although the sharks look impressive, they can't turn around in the tank. The guy said that they fed them shrimp. I remember a couple months ago, they had some baby sulcata tortoises, and they (well SOMEONE) spray painted the shell, and when I asked them about it, they said that they were 'special' tortoises. I've seen them carry some lizards and a cornsnake, which probably died. They occasianly sell baby red eart turtles for about 5 dollars each. Use to have tank full of baby soft shells. They use to have a huge tank in the back full of quarter size baby turtles..softshells, map turtles, you name it... Once I noticed on a bottom tank, they had these HUGE fishes crammed into a small tank. It was a pitiful sight, they had redtail catfishes and several arowanas crammed in there, and some of the arowanas looked literally 'bent'! They offer some crickets too. It's a weird store. I wouldn't be suprised if they got their stuff illegally or something... read more

I sent a message about 1 year ago and did not get a response until a couple of days ago.. And when they replied they said and I quote "No bc you live too far" Who doesn't wanna make money for crying out loud? A lot of attitude from Leo. Wouldn't recommend at all. read more
