This place is awesome!! We got takeout - lamb vindaloo, pani puri, and garlic naan. The lamb vindaloo was incredible and they get the spice level great. We got hot and it had a ton of heat without being overwhelming and painful. The pani puri was good and I love their quantity of sauce they give. My minor criticism is that the garlic naan was a little flat and dough-y and i prefer softer, fluffier naan. But overall super pleased with our meal. read more

I finally got around to ordering from here and am I glad I did. While I believe it's unfortunate to have a combination of Indian and Nepali food, for the average person they probably think it's the same. That being said their food has been delish! I ordered 3 items for delivery: the tandoori chicken wings, veggie momo dumplings, and the aachari chicken. About the momo and wings: WOW. These are winners. Good levels of spice and tons of good flavor. About the aachari chicken: I like the flavor but it was off a bit because it tasted way over salted. We stopped in for lunch and it was fairly quiet there, asked for some recommendations from the server, he was right on with the choices of two entrees and garlic naan, including heat levels. Gotta say, and this is beginning to be very evident in the local Denver dining scene, lunches like here without any alcohol or dessert, including tax and a generous tip are costing fifty bucks minimum... for lunch. Dinners are running minimum one hundred bucks! I'm sure the restaurants are having a hard time with their food and material costs not to mention the labor shortage. This was my first time visiting this Indian / Nepalese restaurant and I was very pleased! They have an amazing menu of all the traditional dishes we've come to love from both cultures. Their staff is friendly and were very accommodating. They often checked-in on me as I waited for my to-go order and offered a place to sit and some water. The restaurant is small so, if you're hoping to dine-in, be prepared to wait (but it's worth it). The bar in the rear is small but it's a nice place to chill and eat dinner and drink. The parking is extremely limited and I had to park a few blocks down. My ordered consisted of Butter Chicken, Lamb Makhani (Butter Lamb), Garlic Naan, and a couple orders of their amazing Chicken Momos. Everything was delicious and they actually pay attention to your request of "spice level." I will definitely return in the future as this is now on my list of favorite Indian restaurants in the Denver Metro area. New biz alert. Across from La Dona and what used to be an Italian restaurant is Tikki and Grill. In an effort to eat less meat and more veggies, I ordered takeout last week via the Yelp app in advance (vs. ASAP): samosas, cucumber salad, tikka masala, and pakora. This went well with the curried cauliflower that my husband made at home. We combined our efforts and made a Friday night meal of it. It seems like the staff is still figuring things out. My order was ready at the designated pickup time, however there was some confusion as to whether I called in the order or made it online. Not a big deal. "Good things come to those who wait". That often-true adage seems especially fitting in light of the debut of Tikka & Grill, which just opened its doors at Broadway/Louisiana after many months of remodeling the former Pasquini's space. If I had to choose three words to describe T&G's interior, they would probably be "cool", "calm", and "classy". Regardless, I'm sure you'll find that this is a most suitable venue for sampling a bevy of delights not only from the owner's home county (Nepal), but all over India as well. Why don't we sit down for a Chaat? Well, yes, I do like talking to you (and know how to spell) - but in this case I'm referring to the array of street snacks which are the pride of Uttar Pradesh in northern India (directly bordering Nepal, as it turns out). A little Pani Puri (mini fried dough bites stuffed with potatoes and sided with spicy mint water) or Samosa Chaat (veggie turnovers doused with chickpeas, chutneys, and yogurt) will get that appetite primed for what lies ahead. If a soup is more to your liking, the South Indian favorite Mulligatawny (taking its name from the Tamil words for "pepper" and "water", and based here on lentils) is sure to hit the spot. Or what about a very Nepalese salad built on Bhatmas (soybeans)? The western Indian state of Gujarat is home to many people from Parsi communities whose origins lie in present-day Iran. A taste of the chicken stew called Pathia, with its jaggery (palm sugar) for sweetness, tamarind for tang, and a plethora of spices, will give you just a peek into their culinary history, and leave you thirsting for more. Meanwhile, all the way over on the other side of India, West Bengal makes its presence felt with Jalfrezi, seamlessly stirfrying onions and peppers with your choice of meat, seafood, Panir (cheese) or vegetables. You can also get most of these cooked "Achari-style" - for lack of a better way to phrase it - with the robust flavor of pickling spices (I personally think this particular combination works best with lamb). But let me just head back to Nepal briefly to close this review with a couple more stunners - namely the Kathmandu favorite Thukpa (a much zestier version of a usually mellower Tibetan noodle soup) and Shikarni (bananas in cinnamon yogurt). read more

Wow!!! I rarely write reviews!! I have moved from Houston and was spoiled with how amazing and plentiful the variety of food options were. We had a good meal at Tikka & Grill tonight. Outdoor seating was available and comfortable. The Vegetable Korma was wonderfully prepared - it was delicious - the standout of the night. The garlic naan was also very good. The Baigan Bharta was good, but lacked that something special. While I am not a fan of Tandori meat, my friend wanted to order the Lamb Tandori. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor of the food. My wife and I tried several dishes including appetizers and ordered relatively spicy as we like authentic flavor. I THOUGHT I was prepared. I was NOT prepared. AT ALL. The flavors, the portion sizes, the sheer satisfaction...if you happen to be in the area with a craving for some wonderfully rich flavors, this is the place for you. First and foremost, I highly appreciate the gluten warnings beneath each product that might have some form of gluten, so if you're intolerant or just staying away from it, you're in luck, here. Second, if there were ever any doubt as to what each dish means or what ingredients go into each recipe, FEAR NOT: Tikka has you covered, yet again. With a bit of included background into the history of each dish, you not only take away a full belly and enriched palate, you also bring with you a bit of the culture. Until today, I never considered the difference in "Makhni" and "Tarka (Tadka)," regarding dal. Call me ignorant, but all I'd thought before was, "Okay, yellow or black?" Sue me. (Please, don't...it's 2022: let's be kind to each others' finances. Lol.) It doesn't stop there! How many spots have you visited with vegan chai options??? Me: one--this place. It is supremely rich without being too rich or sweet, and you get an entire carafe/pitcher instead of just a single cup. It's not just the chai, either--the vegetable coconut soup was unbelievable, with a thickness and richness that would make you think it was made with all of the cream in the world (IT ISN'T), and it came in a bowl that I wouldn't have expected for the price, especially considering what I get at other restaurants in the area. Suffice it to say that I'm from New Orleans, and I'm used to big bowls of gumbo, getting only fairly-moderate portions for around $11 or more. Even the mushroom pakora came in a shareable heap that made me wish I brought somebody else with me, just to share in the glory. This much food was entirely unprecedented and unexpected. Not HUMONGOUS or outrageous, like some budget chain restaurant of all-you-can-eat proportions--just right for (what I'd think is) the average person. I actually had to pack up the dal soup (also with the vegan option!!!) to take with me for later. Some of you may be wondering, "How spicy was it, though?" Well, there are several levels of spice for each of the soups/entrees, giving you the option of mild, medium, hot, and VERY hot. Given my former experiences, I opted for the regular "hot," just to be safe. Truthfully, I was not disappointed at all. It had quite enough kick for me, and eased off just enough to make a "very hot" option seem like it would be reasonable for human beings, as opposed to some competition-level punishment for only the most worthy. How about it, for realistic spice levels? All in all, I left $40 for my own tab and an extremely gratuitous tip, the actual total for the vegetable soup, dal soup, mushroom pakora, and chai tea coming in under $30, after tax. Safe to say I'd visit again, and I'd actually go out of the way to share this spot with friends. Hopefully, you wouldn't feel any differently. read more

Update: the quality has gone down with each subsequent visit. They changed the recipes and the food isn't as good as before. Additionally, we ordered take out from them and asked for one of the dishes "spicy" (which we've done several times before and enjoyed the spice level). The dish was so hot it was inedible. We called to explain and the guy said, "I guess I'm sorry. If it's too hot, then why did you order it spicy?" We explained we'd ordered our dishes spicy before but he kept telling us we shouldn't have ordered it spicy. Disappointed in the downward trend in both service and food quality. The food is excellent as always but a word of warning is to be very specific about the heat of your dish. The past few times we ordered our dishes "hot" and they were the perfect level of spicy while still flavorful. We asked for hot with our most recent order and it was straight heat, no flavor. We called to let them know this round was A LOT spicier and they unapologetically told us we likely got "Indian hot" instead of the normal "hot" spice level. We're disappointed they didn't ask us to specify between "normal" and "Indian" hot as the food is inedible for most people at this heat. We came here at around 6:30 on a Sunday and it was definitely active. Lots of people coming in for to go orders and about 3/4 of tables were full. The atmosphere was casual and fun and clean. Our table had the chicken masala, cheese nan, vegetable samosas, vegetable korma. The chicken masala was a 5/10. The cheese nan was a 4/10. The vegetable samosas 10/10. And the vegetable Korma 9/10. This unpretentious corner spot has amazing Indian food! The array of flavors is mouthwatering and the dishes come out sizzling. I would highly recommend the assorted appetizers to begin (includes vegetable, chicken and shrimp appetizers), followed by the chicken tikka which consisted of succulent pieces of grilled chicken or the chicken korma. All 3 dishes were delicious. Your server will ask your preferred level of spiciness and I went for "spicy" which was great - not mouth on fire but you could feel the heat. Parking is limited so be prepared to have to park on the street and it can be a bit challenging to find a spot. My only complaint was that Yelp allowed us to book a reservation for a Sat night and when we got to the restaurant, they said they do not do reservations on the weekend and we had to wait, so be forewarned. read more
