I went half butter pecan and half strawberry on the waffle, and my goodness, this was a very well-made waffle. Moist, flavorful, and so good that I honestly didn't even need the syrup. The butter pecan and strawberry combination was phenomenal. I also had two fried chicken wings. They were fried hard, exactly the way I like them, crispy and seasoned. I probably would've taken just a touch more seasoning, but that's a minor critique. The chicken was very, very good. This place completely exceeded my expectations. I'll absolutely be back. Upon receiving the news of the postponement of the wedding I called the Shilo Inns to cancel my reservation. The Shilo Inns charged my credit card and told me I would not get a refund. This is my warning. DO Not Make A Reservation at the Shilo Inns. They will not refund your money. My next step is to contact the corporate office.

The lobby seemed fine but once we entered the hallway we could instantly tell the staff, management and owner had given up on cleanliness. The halls were filthy, the carpets were torn and peeling from the floor, and see the pics for other blemishes. As for the room...the hallways were immaculate in comparison to the rooms. We always travel with Clorox wipes and after wiping blood, yuckiness and whatever else the spots, streaks and globs were from the high touch areas we new the room wasn't cleaned! There were half used toiletries in the room and previous guest dirty clothes. And while there weren't many guests, the hotel didn't have a clean room to move us to. Additionally, they didn't have clean towels. We had to use mini-towels. Not a huge deal but neither is doing laundry. The only reason I didn't rate the place 1-star is the front desk staff was pleasant and the place was inexpensive. It is my recommendation that you look for other accommodations. Additionally, if you check my Yelp profile, you'll see I rarely give a bad review. :-)

This is my second visit since the restaurant's most recent ownership change. Had Sunday brunch first visit. One of my friends doesn't eat eggs and asked if she could have a menu item that included eggs, a meat and breakfast potatoes. She asked if the eggs could be left off. She was told NO, so she then just ordered a bread and coffee. I don't understand the waitress response because we weren't asking to deduct the cost of the eggs! She just doesn't eat eggs! Turns out they were out of breakfast potatoes and wanted to bring us french fries instead. We declined. Really.....nothing special about this breakfast and very expensive and disappointing service. The only positive was the restaurant looks nice. Decided to give the restaurant another chance and went for lunch. Had soup and salad. I really only wanted a cup of soup, but that was not possible. Had a very good strawberry and watermelon salad and a giant bowl of corn bisque swimming in oil on top. Very unpalatable. Told the waitress and all I was offered was that they would tell the chef. The salad was $16 and the soup was uneaten and cost me $14! They did bring me the standard Stagecoach hush puppies before my meal and they were delicious! When I had heard the restaurant would be managed by the owners of Monument Cafe I was so excited. I love Monument, but this restaurant is too expensive for the poor quality of food. I would love to have the menu at Monument at this restaurant. The only positive is that the remodel of the restaurant is lovely in appearance. I wouldn't mind the prices if the food was delicious and it was not. I won't return nor will I recommend to my friends. Very disappointing.
