I was in town for a work event when I stumbled upon this place. I love Thai food so I figured I would give it a try for my first dinner in the area. I am happy I went. I sat inside to eat and the wait staff was friendly and helpful as I had a ton of questions. The restaurant was set for the baby shower from the day before but with/without the decorations it's a beautiful establishment. I had my usual Thai order of pad see ew with chicken and I added dumplings as I was hungry. Tik's pad see ew lived up to my expectations as my food was delicious! The dumplings were also really good. This is a gem! I found this place because it was within walking distance of my hotel. From the moment I walked in I knew this place was going to be special. I've heard Thailand referred to as the land of million smiles. Well, this place brought that concept here. They greet you with a smile, serve you with a smile, and you leave with smile. The food so good and so well prepared. I started out with the best fried pot stickers I've ever had in my life and I've gone to some of the best places in New York, Las Vegas, and in between. Prepared to perfection. If gold was the standard, then this is platinum status. My main course was salmon fried rice and it was well prepared. I wanted level 4 hot but seemed a little mild but it was still wonderful. And oh, the Tom Kha soup is platinum standard as well. Tik Thai Express was my dinner spot on my first night in Wright-Patterson, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I stopped in on a whim while heading to my hotel and was glad I did. I ordered the crab fried rice with spring rolls and a watermelon aloe vera juice. It was my first time trying crab fried rice at a Thai restaurant, and it was flavorful, fresh, and generously filled with crab. The food was made to order and ready fairly quickly--I took it to go. Based on the setup, I'd recommend it more for takeout than dine-in, but don't let that deter you. If I'm back in town for work, I'll definitely stop by again. read more

Came here yesterday for the Thai tea and returned the next day for Thai tea and food. Ended up ordering the Thai fried rice with chicken level 2 and pad Thai noodles with chicken and the mini spring rolls. Portions are large, Everything was amazing including the server. I was looking for a late lunch and this was suggested to me. It's really close to where I work, so the location is great. It was a little slow because I missed the lunch hour, but I was seated immediately. The hostess was charming and when I asked for recommendations she gave me some good ones. They know their food. It didn't take very long for the food to come out, it was very timely. The hostess was attentive, checking to make sure all was well, or see if I needed anything. This place has a nice atmosphere. Kind of cozy. Upbeat. The food was absolutely delicious. I was surprised that they recommended the lunch menu instead of the dinner menu, but they pointed me the right way. I got yellow curry and they gave me some extra pepper on the side in case I wanted it hotter. I really love hot food so that was a win. I'm unfamiliar with jasmine tea but I tried it. It's flower infused, I think mine was green tea. According to Google there's other tees that they will infuse with, but it's always the jasmine flower. It was a good side serving and I didn't need any sweetener at all. They had excellent service and excellent atmosphere to go with excellent food. You can't go wrong here. read more

Fantastic. Richelle got the Pad Thai, spicy level 2, I only tried a bit and it was good. I decided to do something different and get a curry dish. I have never had a Thai curry dish, but it was wonderful. I got the Dayton Curry with shrimp: Thai yellow curry sauce in coconut milk with potato, red & green bell pepper, onion, pineapple, mango, carrot and basil leaves. Served with jasmine rice. Thai curry is more soupy then Indian curry. The sweet coconut balance the heat, I got spicy level 2 and found it to be just where I like spiciness, I might even be able to go to three. Hubs and I were staying in the Fairborn area and needed a quick bite to eat before a concert at Fraze Pavilion. This place was good, if a little pricey. I ordered a shrimp Tom yum soup that was $20ish - higher than what I'd typically pay either at my local Thai places in the Seattle area, or my former stomping grounds in SF. Still, it was tasty, and I'd get it again. Hubs and I both also ordered the fresh rolls with shrimp, which we both enjoyed as well. The overall menu seemed a little limited compared to what I'm used to, but that said, if we were ever in the area again, we'd definitely eat here. Everything we ordered from here was DELICIOUS. It was way fancier inside than I thought it would be. Boyfriend got pad see ew that had the perfect amount of salty/sweet. I got chicken fried rice that was also so freaking good! Both got spice level three (both of us love spicy food) and we are curious about the hotter levels but still want to enjoy the food so three was perfect. I went again for dinner but was surprised at the customer service I received from Ethan (caucasian male host). I decided to do take out. I thanked him for my food but did not hear anything back. I had the mango curry and asked for a 4/5 and it almost burned my face off. I've been coming here for the last five years but this was the absolute hottest spice I've ever encountered. I really like their food but I'm not sure what happened and why dish was so spicy. My guess is they over spiced by accident. I'll definitely be coming back but I'll stop shy of a 4 next time. We had a really great experience here! We were a party of 20 coming from a wedding and they were able to accommodate all of us at one table immediately. The servers came out to take our orders as soon as we sat down and I appreciated how they were all dressed very nicely. Went while at a conference. I love me some Thai food and will try everywhere I go. I went during lunch time and it was really busy but they had the line going fast. There was a dine in and carry out area. I ordered the chicken basil fried rice along with Thai tea. I got it to go due to my schedule. It was really tasty and full of flavor. I loved the Thai tea which is one of my favorites. The chicken was tender and it was the right spice level. I would probably go down the next time because you have to learn each places level. I would definitely go back when in the area. The food was really tasty and I loved the Thai tea. The staff was okay but being that it was a lunch rush, they provided good customer service. Terrible food. The Basil chicken tasted like fish. The pot stickers were good. I finally went back to try to give this restaurant another chance after my first experience here. Unfortunately, I was not able to finish my food. The chicken basil tasted like fish, this was very unwelcome. The issue I had with the service was, when I told them that the chicken tasted like fish and I wanted my check (had only eaten about 10%) they said if I had told them earlier they could have tried to fix the issue but could not do anything at that point. Almost like they thought I was trying to get a free meal off them. I hate to see local businesses fail but this one needs to go or have a makeover. Sorry Tiks. read more

I come to Tik's often--you really can't go wrong here. Their service is fast, price is on point and portions are more than plenty. I typically get the tofu pad Thai. If my kids are with me we will get the pad see ew too. My boyfriend likes the yellow curry and the bourbon chicken and fried rice a lot. I also get my bubble tea here, IF I'm already here. Their bubble tea is very pricey--so if I'm just in the mood for bubble tea I'd go to Wat Da Pho which isn't far off from Tik's. read more

I think this place is good. I like the lunch special and how you can get bourbon chicken with fried rice and pad Thai! I don't like coming here for dinner because it's a lot more expensive. I also learned the hard way that if you get bourbon chicken with noodles it is not pad Thai- so I recommend getting it with fried rice since you have to choose one or the other. When I've had their pad Thai I've thought it was okay. Better than I can make it at home, but not the best pad Thai! I stick with the bourbon chicken. I would much rather go to Lihn's Bistro or Thai 9, but we do go here every once in awhile. read more

I am pleasantly surprised by Tik's Thai Express. We ate here one weekend and it wasn't too busy. There are two sides to the restaurant. When you walk in, the left side seems a bit nicer. But both sides are basically the same. For drinks I tried both the thai iced tea and the green tea slush. Both were super sweet, but the green tea slush was just too sweet. It tasted like diabetes sweet and I usually like my drinks sweet. The thai iced tea was a little better. And way better than the thai iced tea at House of Thai. For the appetizers, we had the fish cakes and the baby angels (similar to crab rangoons but replace the crab with shrimp). Both were delicious. The fish cakes are what you usually get in a Thai restaurant. So it's consistent here. Although I wish they had shrimp cakes too. Those are so much better. The baby angels are dangerous to eat. Since it's a deep fried eggroll, as soon as you take a bite into it the hot melted cheese squirts out and burns your mouth. If you love eating spicy food, we got the papaya salad and got it beyond their levels 1-5 spicy and it had a nice kick! You won't be disappointed. The drunken man noodles was an good pick too. There was a decent amount of chicken in it to leave you satisfied. The most disappointing dish however was the orange chicken. Really it should have been renamed to sweet and sour chicken. It was served with bell peppers, broccoli, carrots, and onions. I've never had orange chicken served with all these vegetables before and it was off putting. I'm used to having it with chicken only. Their menu only says it's served with broccoli. The sauce was entirely too sweet. Again with the two sweet for this place. I found myself propping up the dish so that all the sauce drained to one side, and eating the chicken that was kind of separated by the sauce. But by then, you're better off getting orange chicken at Panda Express. It's cheaper too. Despite this, Tik's was a good choice for lunch. I would come back. read more
