There were 7 of us , and I missed a lot of photos. We came for a birthday celebration. We got a couple starters, and salads with our meals. Their ginger dressing is sublime! 2 General Tsos, a Pad Thai, a Fried Rice were ordered, and I missed what else. Service was accurate and attentive. We went early on a Tuesday night. We were greeted and sat very quickly. Drinks were brought out. Waitress is friendly. Mys husband ordered the yakisoba, i did their szechuan beef and my daughter ordered a chicken tempera roll. We did hot and sour soup, miso and a order of beef negimaki. Did a couple rolls of Tuna and seared tuna. The soups were good, both had good flavor. The negimaki was a good choice. We enjoyed it. The waitress brought out our rolls and apologized saying it appears they added avocado to my tuna roll and that she would be happy to have them remake it. I told it was fine since it was already hereand I dont mind it. Half way through it, our brains turned on again, and realized the seared tuna had the avocado (whixh was the roll my husband ordered). At that point i felt bad for eating half his roll. Sadly my husbands adventure for good yakisoba will have to continue. While it was not bad, it was not his experience of the perfect yakisoba. The SERVICE here is out of this world! The food is to die for. We came here from out of town for our family members college graduation celebration dinner. We had a large party of 20 and they accommodated us no problem. We had a wonderful time, the crab Rangoon were super yummy. We really liked the sake they recommended. Destinie and Carrie were absolute rock stars. They even did graduation decor on the dessert plate, it was so cute!!! And I was so impressed with the owner. He introduced himself, his name is Tim. He was jumping in and helping everywhere. When he asked if I wanted anything, I said I had been waiting on a beer, he went and got it for me right away. This was the first restaurant I went to when I was apartment hunting for clinicals years ago and I still come whenever I visit. First of all, they have a huge parking lot so you will have no problem finding somewhere to park. The place has changed slightly over the years, but it's still good. The value of the food is decent because the portions are very generous. I always have takeout that lasts at least one more meal. The music is always loud, but it's fun to come with groups. The service is decent. But keep in mind, they can get busy so you'll need to be patient with your server. The sushi I always get is the North Castle. The tuna is yummy and has a lil crunch from the tempura. The tuna and avocado is fresh. The chicken tempura never disappoints. It's crunchy and delicious. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about the vegetable tempura. It did not have the same crunch of tempura. First time I have seen the lo mein at this visit and we were surprised on how much was given! Not a bad thing at all. It smelled delicious. It had great amount of veggies and the chicken in jt was great. Sky Asian Udon We enjoy Sky Asian, perhaps 100+ visits in past few years. Today it is a Big Bowl of Udon noodles that we seek. Large bowl with hearty broth, fresh veggies, and shrimp. The Difference Between Soba & Udon Flour - Udon uses wheat flour for that dense and dreamy thick finish and chewy texture whereas Soba celebrates buckwheat flour with its slightly grainier texture. Color - Udon rocks that glossy white coloring whereas Soba is darker (often a brown color or grey). Sky Asian has an excellent menu tending to Japanese. This PM as we enter, there is a small older man in a blue dress shirt who is unmindful of business clients - he is very mindful of whatever is on his cell screen. Like a teenager he is totally engrossed. I announce my presence to "pick up." He scurries around check out and makes a U turn into the kitchen. My take away order is clearly on display, but he takes no note. I retrieve the order hoping the blue shirted man will return soon. I have to remark to him, "IF you would give your clients attention, you would not be scurrying about like a mouse." The service is outstanding as the waiter was so kind and so excited that it was our first visit he gave us great recommendations of food to try. When I finally found this place I was already frustrated because I had traveled to a different sushi place and they were closed. BUT.. this place delivered on both taste and service. I had the edamame which let's face it tastes the same anywhere. My server let me taste the Plum wine. I was thankful. It was good but super sweet. Then I had the sushi rolls - Sex on the Beach and Kettering Roll. Sex on the Beach was light and refreshing. Loved the strawberry twist to the roll. The Kettering Roll was simple but super good also. Dined in this establishment while visiting relatives in Dayton. Arrived around 6:00 pm on a Tuesday evening, our party consisted of 4 adults and 2 kids. The restaurant was not very busy, only a few diners were present. The dining room was clean and nicely appointed, seating was comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We ordered a couple of appetizers, calamari and chicken satay. The calamari rings were the smallest I've ever seen and remarkably similar in size and were a bit chewy, but tasted good. The satay consisted of two skewers with three pieces of chicken on each. Tasty but the peanut sauce was underwhelming, and too sweet. My great nephew, not a fan of Asian food at 11 years old, had the chicken tempura. It consisted of 3 nicely cooked pieces of panko covered chicken that he enjoyed. My great niece, having a bit more of a cultured palette, had the shrimp lo mein. It looked good, had a surprising number of good sized shrimp, and was well received. The adult meal included soups, hot sour and wonton. The hot sour soup was a bit thicker than what is usually a brothy soup but had good flavor. The wonton soup had little flavor and contained a couple pieces of undercooked wontons. Two adults ordered General Tso Chicken. It was a nice portion of chicken but in a sauce that was too sweet and not as nearly as spicy as one usually experiences with this dish. It came with a portion of steamed broccoli. My nephew ordered the pad Thai and enjoyed the dish. My brother ordered the dancing walleye. It was nicely presented but again was overly sweet and the walleye was hard to find in an ample serving. These last two dishes came with white or fried rice, again the fried rice had muted flavors. All in all the service was good and quick. The food was average at best, lacking the spicy flavors that we expected. The restaurant bills itself as Asian cuisine, with a strong Japanese influence. Perhaps the flavor profile bests fits that description and not one of a Chinese influence. The bill, that included two cocktails, came out to be about $140 not including the server's tip. If I were to visit again I would be more inclined to stick to the sushi and sashimi menu, or Japanese dishes, and visit a Chinese restaurant for those types of dishes. read more

Sky Asian Cuisine was a first time try while visiting from out of town. The service was great and the food spectacular. A little pricey, but worth it for the first two things mentioned. I had the Coconut Seafood Chowder which was creamy, a little sweet and fully delicious - served in a med sized bowl. Along with it, the Maki B that included classic spicy tuna, spicy salmon and spicy crabmeat rolls. Couldn't go wrong there. Our waiter, Dylan, was swamped, but stayed composed and tried to get back to check on our table several times. We remained patient because most restaurants are short staffed. Hope this changes soon! Our party of five ordered several appetizers (Squid, Kettering Role, Pot Stickers, Crab Cheese, Edamame) and a variety of entrees (pictured). All were delicious! After searching for sushi I came across this place. Maybe I should have tried the plates instead of sushi. The sushi was not too good. In California I could get the same quality in a grocery store. The potstickers were a good appetizer. My grandson had the chicken Udon and there was very little flavor. The best part of the dinner was our waitress Sky. She gave us some recommendations on places to try and was very friendly. Maybe an off night because I wanted to order a roll with king crab and was told they had no king crab. That left out about 4 rolls from the menu. Another thing was the price. That was high price fir the rolls that were not too big. $20 rolls wow.
