I have to start the review by saying the guy that was in charge was a huge douchebag. I went with my wife and one year old for a late lunch around 3:30. I got the Bourbon Chicken with Fried Spring Rolls and she got the Chicken Basil, fried rice for us both. For the daughter we got Pot Stickers. The pot stickers were a big success for the little one, we cut them up and she was busy until our order came. My plate arrived first and then we heard the waitress ask about my wife's order. The aforementioned douchebag, (Henceforth I'll call him DB* for short) said in response to the waitress after making her repeat my wife's order "Oh the Bourbon chicken?" (Keep in mind that was MY order so my wife thinks they forgot her order.) Of course I thought this odd but the food came right away so we dismissed it and thoroughly enjoyed the food. I was impressed by the presentation of my dish, especially the Crab Rangoon that was on top of the rice. As we were leaving we decided to get a bubble tea to go, a disastrous move indeed. I heard the waitress call the order for the bubble tea. After waiting five minutes I heard the waitress ask about the bubble tea, a query which stunned and dumbfounded our heroic DB. Here I mention to you that the place was empty and I'm 6'5, so my trip to the counter should have been of interest enough to warrant that the cashiers call of my bubble tea was heard. "What? Sorry no more orders!" says DB from the kitchen. I stood up and looked to the kitchen and he went on "Only one order per customer!" My sense of humor ran out when I realized nobody was assuring me my bubble tea was ever coming. "Then give me my money back", I said ($4 for the bubble tea, which was just average we discovered later in the car). DB ignored the request so I snatched the $6 tip I had left for our $40 meal off the table and walked out the door. Finally my bubble tea appeared presented by a young man(DB's apparent buddy) so I turned around and got it, meanwhile DB is laughing through his pronunciation of the word "Sorry" He does this three times, and each time the word is more entertaining. "There's nothing funny about you saying I can't have my order" I tell him, to which he replies with his annoyingly insincere laugh of the word "Sorry". It was on the drive home that I realized that DB and his buddy probably often pretend not to hear the waitress, equally intending to bully her/annoy the customer. I won't be going back because if they read this review they'd probably put pubes in the food, yeah guys, real mature. First time there and was expecting standard Chinese take out dressed up as Thai. Was surprized true Thai flavors and heat. Had cold beef salad Thai hot and it was spicey but heat had flavor unlike many places that just had heat to point there is no flavor detected. Will be back for sure. read more

Everything I have had here has been good. The lunch special described by another reviewer is the best deal if you can get there between 11 and 1 - dinner entrees run $8-$10. They also have great Thai iced coffee and tea and very good Coconut Tom Kha (soup). They just added sushi as well. read more

I ordered Shrimp pad thai and ice tea. I ate pad thai in 100's of restaurants and this was the worst I have eaten yet. It was a overcooked mess of brown noodles and no bean spouts. Nothing fresh, mine did not resemble any of the photos here. The little shrimp were covered up by the brown mess and I had to take the tails off each one. Luckily I love hot food since I ordered medium and it was hot, hot. My ice tea came in a little cup with a lid on and had milk pouring out all over the table as the waitress delivered it. I had to mop up the table with lots of napkins and took it back and asked for ice tea. She never did pick up the napkins and I just left. And she babbled something about they can't fire me, I never said anything, I just said could I please have some real ice tea. She gave me a cup and I got it from the fountain. Sadly I already tipped since you have to pay when you order. For all the friends of the cooks who visit this place frequently and rate it , go and try real pad thai with fresh beansprouts and some lime and you would not call this pad thai ever again. read more

I have tried many Asian restaurants around the Dayton area, from Song's Sushi, Choe's Asian Gourmet, and Yung's Korean Cafe are just a few. I've been wanting to try Thai Express because I came in one day to try the boba tea and instead left with the Thai iced tea. It's amazing. I love a sweet cold drink in the summer. You can add half and hlaf, whole milk, or coconut milk even though it's usually made with half and half. Every time they make it I have never been charged for whole milk or coconut milk. Since I usually get the tea to go, I decided to try dining in and trying the food with a friend of mine that appreciates food as much as I do. We went in for dinner and were surprised to see such high prices for a family owned Thai restaurant vibe. There was no clothed silverware, or place settings, or even napkins on the table. The ambiance seemed very casual/hole in the wall type place. Just the for soup it was about $10 when I'm used to really good Lemongrass and coconut soup for $5 at Choe's. We ended up getting two Thai iced teas, appetizers that tasted fresh and very yummy, and two entrees that were good but we have had better at Choe's but because of the price I would have expected better presentation and better service. Tiffany was our server, she was wearing glasses. I wasn't sure if I was going to get an entree or not so I asked if I could keep the menu she said sure but left my friends menu there. Appetizers came out about 25 min later and then we had to wait an additional 15 min. just for our server to come to the table so that I could order an entree as well. Didn't ask if we needed anything, if the food was okay, just not very helpful at all, she gave off the vibe that she didn't even want to be there. We had to ask her multiple times for boxes, bags, water, appetizers, simple things. I may be picky or somewhat a difficult customer but I have worked in the serving business before, and for her to not seem the least bit concerned or helpful doesn't make me feel very welcomed. I would have tipped her over 20% if she was helpful or did any of the things my friend and I had asked of her. It's not like we were asking for an arm or a leg. lol. I had to ask Tonya, another server to get some extra sauces/spices that we needed. I only asked the other server because she genuinely seemed like she cared for her customers, very outgoing and helped us more than our actual server did. She took all of our dirty plates that we were finished with and even refilled our waters! I wanted to tip Tonya than I did my actual server... Just really bad service and so-so food. read more
