Andrew at Tilden auto is a rip off. I took my car in due to it was jerking left to right. Thet replaced the control arm in March 2024 i had not driven the car until Sept 2024 and it was doing the same thing and they came back with it needed more work on it and then tried to charge me for Dianostic fee of $90 and I said for what. For some thing they did not do on the last repair. I will never go back to them. They are shady. read more

BEWARE !!!! Worst Experiance Ever!!! These people are scammers!! Brought my car in after talking on the phone with a male and him telling me it would be $60 to diagnose the problem. A day later I was told the problem with it was the transmission and they would fix it for $2500. I asked her how much labor would be, she said, "it says here 8.5 hours", then stuttered quickly after, "I mean 13.5." I asked why am I paying 1000 for a transmission when I can order one new for 500. She said, "well, we have it rebuilt for you and we give you a warranty." Did you hear that, REBUILT. Not even a new part. Well, after pricing a transmission ($3-400) I called several shops that would do it for $1200-$1400. So, obviously I wasn't going to get the work done there at Tildens (THIEVES). Then, upon picking the car up I asked to speak to the mechanic that worked on it. He came in and couldn't tell me what exactly was wrong with it because he couldn't speak a lick of English. After locating an INTERPRETER, the best I got out of the receptionist was; he hooked it up to a machine and the machine told him that the transmission needed to be replaced. I asked him WHY I need a new transmission when the two computer codes indicate a wiring or electrical issue (P0882, P0344), and also asked if he checked that. He literally couldn't or wouldn't explain anything else. Worthless! Then the receptionist informed me that the diagnostic was $89.99 instead of $60 like I had previously been told. So, I paid $90 for some guy just to hook it up to a machine?! Give me a break! I would've rather burned up a $100 bill than giving it to these Theives. After talking to a few mechanics at other shops they informed me that the mechanics at Tilden weren't even certified. They charge $120 an hour for labor (The average shop charges $80 an hour for labor, by the way) and the guys there are not even certified, and probably not legal to work in the US to begin with! Will never go back to these scammers again and will warn everyone I know to stay away from this place. Come to find out, AFTER having it TOWED to another REPUTABLE shop and having it looked at by a REAL ASE certified mechanic; (who did a REAL DIAGNOSIS, for 40.00 by the way), the transmission was NOT even the issue. It was electrical connection with the transmission and the TCM. Their 15.00 OIL CHANGE is how they pull in SUCKERS off the street so they can pressure them to have needless REPAIRS performed. As a female it is intimidating to deal with car issues but I 100% trust the work that is being completed at this Tilden's, under Andrew's supervision. Waited over an hour to get the 15.00 oil change. Asked them to rotate tires, as the sign says they will. The mechenic did not change the tires, said" on these Jeep grand Cherokees you aren't supposed to rotate the tires...causes problems. Really? Change em anyways. So he did, while cursing under his breath, I know, I'm so mean for making him do his job... Turms out, i checked my oil right after, and sure enough, the same dirty oil was in my Jeep. I'll admit, I was hesitant to get my oil changed here. $15 seemed too good to be true. I decided to try it out though, last minute one weekend, when I realized that I was a couple of thousand miles past due and didn't feel like shelling out $30+ somewhere else. (I'm cheap, what can I say?) And I'm SO glad I did! The wait is hit or miss. I've waited an hour and I've waited 20 minutes. For the price though, I don't really care. There's free drinks, TV, computers, etc while you wait which was nice. And the employees are very kind. I love and appreciate that they don't try to sell me stuff like other places do. (No, I DON'T want a friggen air filter!) Also, they have crazy hours and actually open at 6am, for those wanting to stop by before work! The last time I stopped in was prior to a road trip. My low tire pressure light had been on for ages and I was planning on stopping somewhere to get them filled after leaving Tilden. When I got back in my car afterward, however, I noticed that the light was off and someone had apparently taken the time to fill my tires for me. Maybe that's common practice, I'm not sure....but I was touched. Admittedly, I've never had any other work done on my car, here, so I can't give opinions on that. But definitely go for a painless, CHEAP oil change! You can't beat $15! read more

Brought car in to get an estimate for a repair. All structural damage. Estimate was almost 2 times as much as competitors. Went to pick up vehicle and was charged $95 for a "diagnostic fee" no diagnostics performed. I explained what was broken and wanted the price they would charge to do the work. I am FURIOUS. I brought my car to Tilden a week ago for an oil change and brake check, as they had an online coupon. They did the oil change and then said they'd check the brakes to see if they qualified for the $69 coupon. They came back with a quote for $578. They said I needed tie rods, new brakes and rotors. I didn't have that kind of money so I left. Two days later, my brake light started coming on. I got in touch with a family member who is a mechanic. He and I went over the quote today and looked at everything they said was an issue. The tie rods are fine. The brake pads that they said had less than 20% remaining actually have more than 2/3s remaining. So why's the brake light coming on in the dash? We checked the brake fluid-nearly empty. But there's no reason for it to be empty when the brakes are in as good of condition as they are. (There's no leak to explain the missing brake fluid either.) We believe they removed the brake fluid to ensure that the brake warning light would come on so I would have to bring my car back to them. I will take my business elsewhere, you should too. read more

***WARNING***WARNING***WARNING*** Alright let me tell you about my nightmare with this incompetent business. My son took his truck to these guys with the check engine light on. We also told them there was noise coming from under the truck and the transmission was shifting abnormally. I was told there is a misfire and the timing chain needed replacing for $2200.00. They told me it was a twelve hour job. They started about 1:00 in the afternoon. They were done a little after 5:00 the same day. I was also assured nothing is wrong with the transmission. My son picked up his truck. The next morning he was driving it to work and the tachometer was redlining! Tilden had to send a wrecker after the truck and redo the timing chain. A week later the transmission is burned up. So we take it to a different mechanic who rebuilds the transmission. We get the truck and a few days later the check engine light is back on. At this point I am afraidto trust Tilden anymore. We go back to the new mechanic and he spends days trying to find the vacuum hoses that Tilden mechanics did not reconnect! He then finds the evap canister is bad and Southwest Ford said this would cause the misfire. I am being told the timing chain was probably not necessary. So Tilden got my $2200.00. They almost blow the motor in the process and the noise was the transmission which burned up. So that $2200.00 could have gone towards the transmission. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO TILDEN AUTO CARE!!! It is not right for them to take peoples hard earned money for a wrongly diagnosed problem. Read the other reviews! I'm not the only victim! Tilden you need to think about the hardship you place on people! We work hard for our money! Oh sure you hate to hear of this problem and this is not normal. Well your two star rating say's otherwise. Well thanks to you I found an honest mechanic and I will never walk through your doors again. I saw your reply and you take no responsibility! This is probably still one of the only places you can get a $15 oil change in town for that alone they deserve the Stars. They're not the fastest oil change your liver have by any means but the staff are friendly oils good and they get your oil change for just the right price. They also have a great deal on specialty oils like the synthetic and the newer high mile oil change I saw them talking about that to somebody they only have to have their oil changed I think they said every 10,000 miles. I might be off on the numbers on that because I wasn't really paying that much attention. Outside the oil changes though they are a full-service car center they can do a ton of other stuff batteries brakes tires parts and it kind of part you need just about I I would imagine. And their prices overall are very reasonable. read more

We used tildens on las Vegas trail. We took our Jeep in for an oil change this morning and came straight home. About an hour later we leave to go to the doctor and we see this in the driveway. Car wasn't leaking oil before but now it's leaking DIRTY oil. We call them they get a tow truck then tell us it was just coincidence. Some sort of housing seal must have busted leaked in the pan then sealed itself until the oil change when it busted again. That would explain why the oil was so dirty but there was absolutely no oil in the driveway prior to this. Then they tell us we won't have to pay for the tow if we sign a paper relieving them of liability because we will be driving it off the lot. We say no, we'll have it towed and we will not be signing anything. They then decide we will need to pay for the tow before we can get the keys. Then, they call the cops because we tell them to give is the f-ing keys. This would be the associates since the manager decided to lock himself in the office to hide. Well, it's going to the mechanics shop to see what's really going on with it. If you know anybody that uses this place tell them not to. These guys are greasy greasy cons. read more

STAY AWAY! Shady business practices. I took my car in because my a/c was blowing warm air. They said it needed a new fan and resistor. $400. It worked 2 weeks then stopped blowing cold air again. I took it back and they said the fan was not the original problem, but now something else was. Wanted another $350 to try again. Had another mechanic check it. On July 25, my 2006 Chevy Cobalt SS broke down and I had the car towed to Tilden Car Center. The diagnostic said that my car needed a new computer and we needed to pay up front. So, I went and paid the requested money up front. I figured while my car was there and being worked on, a new oil change would help with car. The total up front was $775. We were told the car would be back and ready by the next few days. After a few weeks, my car was sent to the dealership without consulting us first, charged us over $1800 to tell me the car was not really fixable. The same week I got the car back, I had to take it to a dealership and use the car as a trade-in for a new car. I would have respected them a lot more if they had just been honest about not knowing how to fix the car or just charged me the fee for the tests and told me the car was not worth saving. read more

Right next to my car was a truck sticking out 2 feet past the line. Poor customer service inside and they didn't even find why my tire was going low. I am sorry to have to write this, but after months of waiting on an accurate diagnostic and repair of one of my vehicles, I am left with no other choice. Let me start by saying, I do not like to rate someone based on one bad experience. I give businesses a chance to have a bad day or two. But now months (8+ months) later I am still having trouble getting my car back. At first the diagnostic was on thing, they 'fixed' it and I was told I ma good to go. Turns out, that wasn't true, returned to re-fix it, still a problem. I finally brought it to the manufacturor and they told me the problem was clearly something else and whatever they claimed to have fixed was not fixed, in fact there was no way that they could have even touched this specific part because it was old and dusty like miles and years of wear on it. Not okay Tilden!! But there's more, after having to spend Hundreds of $ at the manufacturer, been waiting for the issue to be resolved. I will never recommend this automotive shop. EVER. So far $5000 down the drain for an issue that was 'fixed' multiple times, yet I still do not have this car. 0 Stars out of 5 if I could. NEVER WILL I EVER EVER EVER recommend this auto shop. It was the end of the day and the young lady behind the counter was smiling and friendly. No appointments. First come, first served. I was there bright and early the next morning to have the air conditioner in my vehicle checked out. Left the car and was taken to work by their very nice driver. I received a call to let me know the problem, how much repairs would cost and how long it would take. At the end of my work day 'my' driver came back and took me back to get my car. If you want to wait they have lots of amenities to keep you occupied- big screen tv, daily newspaper, couches or table & chairs, even a pool table and kiddie area. My experience was 5star. Very consumer conscious. Air Conditioner fixed. I'm 'cool'. read more

If I could give a half star I would. My parents had problems with this location with cheap brake pads being placed on their vehicle, so I was hesitant to get my oil changed here. I did in fact get my oil changed on June 4th, 2018. My oil appeared dirty after it was supposedly changed. My fluids were never checked after requesting it, and a cap to one of my rims was never put back on after I had my tires rotated. I contacted Tilden and spoke with Rose who basically blowed me off and gave me an I don't care type attitude. I physically responded to this location and Rose told me there wasn't anything she could do for me. I spoke with the manager who did give a refund for the oil change, but told me he wasn't going to replace the cap to my rim. The manager gave be a condescending attitude and treated me like I was nothing. Do not go to this place for any work on your vehicle. This place has horrible customer service, and their work performed was poor. It's not worth going to this location, trust me! read more

Charged me for work that was never done, tried to sell me $900 in parts and labor I didn't need. I took my truck in because I had play in my drive train. I suspected that I had a bad U-joint and after inspection Tilden claimed I needed motor mounts. They quoted me $900 and I decided to get a second opinion. Because I was there and it's messy work, I asked them to pack my slip yoke with grease. They charged me $120 for Teflon grease and labor. As I drove away from the shop I noticed there was no change in drive train play. I decided to tear into the truck myself and when I crawled under it I found the factory slip yoke boot clips still in place. I pulled the boot off and it was bone dry, no grease at all. I packed it with grease and immediately noticed all drive train play was gone. I have had no problems in over a month. read more

I'm an idiot for going here. Should have read the reviews. Took truck in for transmission flush. The next morning, I notice a large puddle of transmission fluid on the ground (ok, there's always a risk of this happening after a flush). So, I take it back to be fixed. Tilden calls me to say the truck is ready. I return to pick up my truck, I can see it's still leaking . The mechanic says, "Yeah, it's still leaking. I can't figure out why." Unbelievable. So the manager says he'll have his transmission guy look at it. Turns out I just needed a new gasket. They fix it. Problem solved.... But wait, now there's a large crack in my windshield!!! And the crack is from the INSIDE. WTF!!?? Did they drop my truck? Also strange that all of my mirrors are way low. I'm never going back. Stay clear of this place. read more

Tilden on Clifford and Las Vegas Trail does UNAUTHORISED AND INCOREECT WORK. I went in to get my driver side tail light replaced I saw that the tires were off and hood was up. When asked what was being done to my car, I was told that my fluids were being topped off. My center piece for my rims was not put back on the car and was "lost". The worst was that OIL WAS PUT IN THE RADIATOR!!!!! We requested that the manager refund the cost of the flush and she refused. This could have caused serious damage to the car and they would not take responsibility for their mistake. Do Not trust this establishment. Not professional nor knowledgeable. read more

Good prices due to high volume. Fine for standard maintenance but not well suited for extensive repair. Quick diagnosis on air conditioning did not fix actual problem and car was at shop for over 8 hours. Filled up with freon and stopped further troubleshooting to no avail. When asked about fixing it, the manager stated an act of God would be required to get to it again in the day. While the free drinks, tv, computer and games in the lobby are nice, you'll have a chance to play all of them with the amount of time you will spend there. The locations on Alta Mere and North Grants Lane are far superior to this convenient, yet substandard, location. I trust Tildens, but go see Rick on Alta Mere or Crystal on North Grants and save yourself the trouble. read more

Took car in and had coils replaced, they went out 2 months later, went back for the warranty and they said they replaced only 3 of the 4 and it was the 4th one which has not been replaced that was the problem. Went back to get air condition fixed, which actually worked for a few months, air stop blowing and what do u know it wasn't covered. Because the one part they didn't initially repair was the problem. As if that was not enough, had catalytic converter replaced in November, engine light came on 2 months later, took it in for the warranty and what do u know it was the "downstream converter" that was not working properly, not the one they originally replaced..this place is nothing but a scam...it's always the one piece or part they say wasnt replaced.
