We've used Tile American for two projects so far and couldn't be happier with the experience. Cleo was awesome as were others in the store. Yes, they are busy on a Saturday, so you have to be patient as they are dedicating time, energy & expertise to the customers ahead of you; just like you expect them to do for you when it's your turn. I think it was the manager Barb.She needs to be trained on how to speak to customers; An etiquette class wouldn't hurt. She seems overwhelmed and I don't believe she enjoys her career choice. Clearly my tile design concerns weren't interesting enough. She Just Wouldn't shut up about her son going to med school or something of a sort. I listened to her stories but couldn't wait to leave the store. I went to universal. 20 minute meeting there and got everything I needed plus excellent customer service. needed. they were super professional and courteous. If I could give a zero, I would. First box came with broken tile; we ordered replacement box. 2nd box came: broken tile. 25 tiles short, we waited weeks for a third box. It came with broken tile. Now they cant find the 3rd piece of 3 finishing tiles. Ugh. It never ends. I want to cry. read more

This is the place to come to see a large selection of tiles, unlike traditional mom and pop shops this retailer is able to get a variety of tiles that are contemporary and have many more styles and colors than the traditional new england type of safe and boring. With that said expect glass tiles to be 15$/sqft and up generally. I have to say many of the styles that they have I've compared online and prices are mainly competitive to what you will find on the internet. Please stay away! Let's start with the "designers", I went in with two textured tile samples and asked what Benjamin Moore colors would work with them..."any". Wow great answer, thanks Stephanie-could I have figured that one out myself. Be careful if you purchase any tiles from them as they have no return policy. The sales staff talked me into 12x12 tiles for a bathroom ceiling. Sure why not! My installer said the 12x12 are too heavy for a ceiling, went to Home Depot where in a casual conversation the Flooring & Tile Manager echoed the same sentiment that 12x12 is too heavy for a ceiling. Guess what, I had to eat the cost of the tiles and have them sit in my basement taking up valuable floor space. In sum, you are better off going somewhere else. Nothing but a bunch of smug, prima donnas. read more

The initial store service means nothing if they can't deliver their product on time and they string you along for days. We ordered bathroom tile and the installer absolutely wanted to start with the shower floor first. All the tiles were promised at a certain date. Some arrived, some didn't. Finally, all the tiles arrived EXCEPT the shower floor but Tile America said, "They'll definitely be in by next Fri, mid morning." We called the day before and TA said it was a "verified" delivery. Friday we called...person answering phone acted perturbed, tiles weren't in, said he would check the delivery and NEVER CALLED BACK. If you've got other options, use them first because who needs this? read more

Some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. We used them to install granite countertops. They said it would be 2 to 3 weeks. Try 10! Steve said he would schedule our templating appointment for the week after we got back from vacation. He didn't, no apology, and couldn't get us in for another 3 weeks. Then they didn't show up for the appointment. No call, nothing. Wished we could walk at that point, but we were stuck because we'd already put down a deposit on the granite and no one else in the area carried what we wanted. So after an irate call they came the next day and promised our counters would be ready for installation in 2 or 3 weeks. After 3 weeks we called and they were finally installed a week later. The counters are beautiful, but what an ordeal to get them! To add insult to injury, when I went in looking for a liner tile to fill the gap between the new counter and the old backsplash, which we wanted to keep, Cleo promised to call me with information about whether the supplier had the one I was interested in available. She never called. I found a better one online myself. I am so done with Tile America! read more
