Bruce and his crew did an amazing job adding tile to my stairs! Couldn't have been happier with the quality of the work. I've attached some before and after pics. However, I wish their scheduling and punctuality could've been better, otherwise I would've given them 5 stars.

These guys are FANTASTIC. what can I say? Don't look anywhere else. The warmth and business acumen of Solid Prime made it an absolute joy to work with. Their communication and wanting to do the best job they can really shows how committed they are to making sure their customers are happy. Great job!!

Solid Prime Tile & Stone was and is the best contractor we have hired to work on our house. It was not luck we found Bruce at Solid Prime Tile & Stone because we checked the California State License Board, Better Business Bureau and Yelp. What we found after searching all those site is that Solid Prime Tile & Stone was the best anyone could hire. The Better Business Bureau gave Solid Prime Tile & Stone and A+ with zero complaints. Solid Prime Tile & Stone has a current license and Yelp has a 5 star rating. Bruce came over to our home on time and I mean right on the time he told us. He answered questions and provided recommendations that helped us with the renovation of our bathroom. Bruce gave us an estimate and a time line that was followed and a completion date that was achieved. Mid job, we had changes and Bruce and his crew were so helpful with these changes and still were able the meet the deadline with a quality of the work that has impressed all our friends and neighbors. Bruce and his crew are awesome! Thank you Bruce, From George and Kathy and all the horses!

Can you see the ugly bright white caulking line? That should be grout to match the floor.

I wish I could give this company 5 stars like everyone else. I did not have the best experience and the service rendered does not meet my expectations. If you have an eye for detail this company is NOT for you. I was excited to start my project. Bruce, the owner, was very nice and I was happy with his quote. I told him I was picky and that I had high expectations. He welcomed my critical eye and was happy to have me as a customer. I signed the contract and we started demo. The first few days were great as his crew demoed the existing tile and prepped for installation. Although I was working, I checked in on the job each day. On the first day of installation, all was good. Day 2 and 3 of install I started to notice crooked grout lines, messy work, and the shampoo niche was ridiculously cut and done. The wall tiles were not flush and the ends were not lining up. They did not cut the tiles correctly for plumbing and receptacles. It was all done half-ass and NOT to my satisfaction. I immediately called Bruce on FaceTime and he too agreed what he saw was unacceptable. We met the next morning and he saw what I saw. He claims to have fired his tile setter on the spot. He also told me that he made sure to tell his employees to do an extra good job. Should he even need to say that? About 1/4 of the tile was chiseled out and a new tile setter came the next day. He fixed the niche, he reset and alligned the tile and all was well. Then came grout. I chose a grout color to match the wall tiles, white. And a grout to match the floor tiles, a concrete grey. When I came to view the bathroom it looked as if the floor grout was white. It was not the color I chose although Bruce says he laid the correct color. Bruce was supposed to meet me so we could discuss my worry, but unfortunately, he didn't show up on 2 separate agreed upon times. Whatever. We never discussed the gap between the tile either. I would have preferred less grout lines but again, nothing I can do now. When Bruce informed me that the bathroom was complete I went to do a final inspection. I told him I was not satisfied. There were gaps in the grout between the tile and bathtub. Some of the grout was low and some areas were high. He sent someone the next day. What did they do? Put a bright white caulking line on the floor. Not additional grout to match the floor tile, no. A long, ugly line of caulking. If you know tile, you know caulking is used for repair. I was so unhappy as it cheapens my bathroom and was not done to my satisfaction. Bruce says the job is done and HE is satisfied and that is all that matters. His opinion. Not mine. He threatened to add interest if I did not pay my balance in full, even though I was not happy. He was no longer going to listen to my complaints. All he wanted was payment. Should I be sorry that I care about the details? Should I apologize for holding a company responsible? Should I be sorry that I my husband is knowledgeable about tiling and has given me the eye of detail? I don't think I should be. I work hard for my money and have a very hard time spending thousands of dollars that I have worked incredibly hard for for work that is not done to my satisfaction. It's wrong. Bottom line... if you don't mind the details and won't be bothered by crooked lines and not flush tile, go with this company. They will make sure the job is done to THEIR satisfaction, not the clients, despite it being in their contract.

Bruce and his team were exceptionally professional and did the job on time which is a rare thing with construction. Bruce was responsive to some changes we needed done. When we wanted changes or had an issue with something he was quick to figure out a solution. I would highly recommend his business from both a quality and professional prospective.

We recently purchased a condo for my daughter and wanted to update her old fiberglass tub/shower insert. I'm glad we found Bruce because he gave us a quote very quickly, explained the scope of work, and kept to his timeline. His prices are very reasonable. Bruce and his team are very professional and do beautiful work! I would highly recommend his company!!

Contacted Bruce during the covid-19 pandemic. He did a couple of virtual consultations with me through FaceTime before booking the project. Wanted to have decorative outdoor cement tiles installed on my front porch. Ended up being a difficult project due to an uneven surface, corners that were not square, steps that were not evenly spaced, shulter sizes were tough to locate, and more. However Bruce's team problem solved and the porch turned out great! Would hire again. Bruce and his crew showed up exactly on the date and time promised. His crew showed up early each day around 7:30AM and worked until around 4PM. Took 3 days to complete the porch. Would hire again for future projects!

Bruce and his crew were great to work with. They tiled a bathroom and a kitchen backsplash for us and everything turned out great!

    Bathroom Reno

Bruce and his crew are pros! We spoke with several contractors before going with Solid Prime Tile & Stone. Bruce was extremely communicative throughout the entire process. He made us feel comfortable even though there were a few potential tricky spots between existing tile work and plumbing. We have worked with a handful of vendors during a condo renovation and Solid Prime Tile went above and beyond. I'd wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone needing tile work.

Bruce is awesome! He came out to take a look at a tricky project with an existing stainless steel backsplash. His estimate was very reasonable and he was able to start just a few days later. He's very communicative, clear about expectations, and ultimately very skilled and professional. Working with hand-made tile requires extra care and he and his team did an amazing job. Thank you!

    Rendering

Bruce and his team were very easy to work with and VERY clear on what to expect. They issued a work order w a break down of each item and it's cost. Down to the masking tape - that was very much appreciated! They gave me a timeline in which the project would be finished by and lived up to that deadline. They were clean, courteous, and pleasant to work with. Highly recommended to anyone in Long Beach who is looking for a professional company. Below is the rendering that I created and the actual finished product.

Throughout the entire process, Mike was very professional and the level of expertise he exhibited was obvious. Before Mike, I had met with 3 other contractors to compare services and quotes but what sealed the deal for me was the 3D render service Mike offered. It was affordable and it would be free if you end up going with MDM for your remodel. Mike was able to get the renderings to me very quickly and made adjustments whenever we wanted to change something. Seeing the details of the renderings really brought what we were envisioning to life and helped with the design process. Fast forward to beginning of demo/construction, Mike's employees were impressively fast and efficient at their jobs, but what really impressed me was how clean they kept our property after each day of work. And that stated true throughout the entire process of our 7 month renovation. During construction, if there were any last minute changes, Mike would always try to cater to our needs whenever possible. Even if subcontractors made mistakes with anything, Mike would make sure it is fixed and perfect right away. Keep in mind, you can't rely on Mike for everything (as much as you might want to). You really do have to do your research (in terms of design, finishing materials, sourcing those materials, and getting them delivered on time) and know exactly what you want and how you want it, that way, Mike can plan and put into action what needs to be done. After this entire process, we are extremely happy we got this project completed with MDM. What really sets them apart is the quality of work, dependability, and the great people that work for MDM. Shoutout to Mario! They really respected our home and were very considerate of us during construction. Even after everything was finished, they guaranteed that they would come back and fix anything that needed fixing. Cannot recommend them enough if you want to improve or build your new home!

On the very first day we met, Nir helped design a 3D view of the project that perfectly captured exactly what we had envisioned. Throughout the build, we had a weekly walkthrough with Nir to check if we had any questions or concerns, which kept communication incredibly clear. Elba was also an excellent project coordinator who was always available to answer our questions and keep everything on track daily. The construction crew themselves were clearly very experienced and knowledgeable; they followed our approved plans meticulously and were happy to accommodate extra requests along the way. You can truly gauge the quality of their work by the fact that every single city inspector visit passed on the first try--nothing ever had to be rescheduled or redone because everything was built perfectly to plan. Additionally, all of the finishes--from the drywalling to the trim work and paint--were done with high-quality materials and top-tier craftsmanship. Overall, it was a great experience, and we highly recommend them!

I was first referred to Preferred Builders by my tax preparer, Happily, my first repair/remodel turned out wonderfully so I immediately started a remodel on my own home. Scope of work: remove all the carpeting in the house and install laminate plank flooring in those areas. The travertine flooring in the entry, kitchen and hallway had large craters which collected dirt and water residue after washing. I had the floor steamed, the craters filled and the whole floor resealed. I had a gasline installed in the kitchen and a new gas oven installed. I also had a complete bathroom remodel which included removing a huge jacuzzi tub and installing an elegant and safe walk in shower. For the bathroom Nir listened to my concerns and needs and then gave me two 3-D renderings of my options. Elba was fabulous and fast with permits, a purchase list and provided weekly job schedules and updates. I have now completed this remodel and I can't be happier. My Preferred Builders team was pure gold! I highly recommend Nir, Elba and Orel, the Foreman.
