This place has beautiful displays and decent prices. But two things really bothered me. First, there is no handicap accessibility. My wife was on crutches, and their long, winding staircase that had a railing only on one side was a challenge, especially as it was winter. Also, the two people we spoke with were rather unpleasant. When we complained about the stairs, the receptionist pointed out that they have a showroom in Natick. We live in Belmont. No thanks. And when we picked out a tile and asked the salesperson about it, she said she really didn't like that tile. We left. Roma is the best. read more

I visited the warehouse after hearing about them on Chronicle. I got some really great stuff, and the young woman who was there Claire I think her name was could not have provided better service been nicer and bent over backwards to make sure I was satisfied. Our experience with Tile Showcase in Watertown was pleasant in every way. My husband and I first visited to view and select tiles in summer 2012. We couldn't purchase what we wanted right away, but the store gave us a $100 coupon good through the end of the year. We returned to review our selection and purchase the tiles, and A YEAR LATER, the store still had our file. We weren't the best customers--indecisive, and going back and forth over colors and quantities, but Claire Quinn, the Customer Service Rep, was unfailingly patient and helpful, and she always got back to us within 24 hours. I would not only recommend them without reservation, but would use them the next time I need to purchase tiles. read more

We went to Tile Showcase to select tile for two bathrooms and a kitchen backsplash. They have a great selection of product and beautiful displays. Our salesperson was helpful and attentive and we were able to put together an order on our second visit. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. Tile that was promised in 3 weeks took almost 7 weeks, and some product took so long we had to cancel and redesign. Repeated calls to customer service were met with an "I'll check on it" but no real answers. After being given a final deadline by our contractor, another heated discussion revealed that they were having credit issues with the supplier. Bottom line, NEVER pay in full when you place your order, and always pay by credit card. read more

I had a HORRIBLE experience with tile showcase. They were snobby at the sales stage, my order took 5 weeks to arrive rather than the promised 3, and then when there was a problem with the grout they had ordered for me, they just told me they couldn't help. And shipping was ridiculous... My order was only about $350, but at the end of the sales process, they told me shipping was $120! They had the tile I wanted, but buyer beware if you decide to deal with these folks. read more

Most of the negative reviews of Tile Showcase have to do with the sales personnel. I can't speak about any of them other than Alba (who's based in Watertown since the Natick showroom closed) and she rates at least 5 stars. My husband and I have been designing and redesigning (and redesigning) a bathroom in our home for much of the past year and Alba, with seemingly endless patience and good humor, has stuck with us. She's been warm, welcoming, and available as well as knowledgeable and professional. She has followed up on everything we've asked her to pursue and is always responsive to our concerns. Tile Showcase is extremely lucky to have her as an employee. If they were able to clone her, their yelp star rating would jump from 2 to 5. read more

11/6/2016 Update: for some strange reason yelp's "AI robot" decided my review was not worthy enough to be seen by humans, as is the case with a lot of other reviews. Don't know what gives but the 1.5 star rating is a real shame. That aside, the reason for my update was my recent need for help repairing a cracked floor tile originally purchased at Tile Showcase, as the original installer was not available. The Tile Showcase rep gladly referred me to tile install person who came over and fixed it. I remain a very happy customer. I was somewhat concerned going to Tile Showcase due to the other reviews posted here, however when I looked up this business on Angie's List they received an "A" grade so I gave them a chance due to their convenient location relative to where I live. Upon my first visit, I soon realized that they suggest people make appointments in order to ensure good customer service. So on this 1st visit I browsed the showroom without any interruptions or sales pitches, which I actually preferred. Once I was ready to get more information, I made an appointment and returned a couple of days later. I was promptly greeted by a customer service representative who was patient, resourceful and more than willing to guide me through the numerous choices. When I finally selected my top choices, the representative gladly provided multiple quotes and delivery time frames that helped me make the final choice. Everything arrived as promised and I could not be more pleased with the selection and service I received. I am a happy customer and will definitely go back to Tile Showcase for any future tile needs, but I do highly recommend that any other yelper's call ahead and make an appointment once you are ready to discuss your tile needs. read more

I saw Tile Showcase reviewed on Chronicle and decided I had to check out their warehouse. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a wonderful man who asked me if I needed help. Lucky for me it was actually the owner Fred and he could not have been more helpful and gracious. The quality and prices were fantastic and Fred was very knowledgeable on all the products i asked him about. I was so impressed with everything that I actually made a purchase and plan on returning! I had an extremely satisfying experience at Tile Showcase. Rene met with me countless times to help me pick out kitchen and breakfast room tiles. It took a long time for me to make my final decision but she patiently guided me through the whole process. I am a huge fan of the store!!! Great selections, knowledgeable staff and although it can appear expensive....quite competitive for the product they offer. I went to Tile Showcase on a quiet weekday AM to search for tile for my bath renovation. I registered with the receptionist at the desk and was then left to wander about the empty showroom for almost 20 minutes until a saleswoman arrived. They have a vast selection of tiles, but everything I liked required a special order. My contractor needed the tile in 4 weeks. The woman suggested that I look in the remnant section of the warehouse because they don't have much material in stock. Unfortunately, I was unable to find anything suitable in the amounts that I needed. Back upstairs I went, and after waiting around the still empty showroom for another 15 minutes, I ordered tile that was promised in 2 to 3 weeks. We are now on week 4, and still no sign of the product. A very disappointing experience that is now costing me time and money! read more

I stopped in to look at some tile and the salesperson was terrible. Not sure what her name was, but she was mostly disinterested in helping me. Nice store, with nice product, but I would never buy my tile there simply for the way I was treated. I usually don't expect much from salespeople, but this interation lowered my expectations even further. read more

Late on 3 of 4 orders, one of which will make us several weeks late to move into our house, and little in the way of response after multiple requests for help. Tile Showcase reps have not been tracking our orders with the manufacturers, as we'd expect, and after we've found out on our own of substantial delays, it's been a major effort to get a response from Tile Showcase, let alone help, let alone sorry. We ordered from multiple reps at both Watertown and Design Center, so this is not an isolated problem. Will post follow up reviews as this unfolds. read more

Horrible customer service. Decided to go based on a recent Chronicle show. The warehouse did not have much of what we wanted so went to the showroom upstairs. Since we don't know much about tile and needed some guidence, we "thought" that would be the type of help we would receive. NOT. We checked in as the sign directed us (first clue was that there was no one there to check us in and then ignored when there was). Waited 30 minutes to be "called" but in the meantime we continually saw others walk in and get immediate attention. After listening to those conversations, they were either interior designers who have a relationship with this store or contractors. Rude doesn't begin to describe how they were to others. We walked out. Then we decided to go back in since I really wanted to price out a tile I saw. Karen was assigned to us and to tell you the truth, she was not very helpful. Everytime I asked for some guidence or a pricing, her response was the same, "that's nice". She acted like we were a bother. Terrible customer service especailly for "tile virgins". My husband commented that we would never give them our business even if it was at another store with better service. read more

Buyer beware The worst experience I've ever had in retail. I was tiling my entire house it was new construction. They ordered the wrong tile and some of tile with open boxes. Over Half order was wrong too much tile not the right tile I ordered. I put out many emails no response back it's like they just wanted the sale nothing else. With lots of my own time and follow up they were going to refund my money it took months they said it was refunded and then it never was. I've been in retail for over 20 years and never experienced anything like this ever. Truly don't know how they won Boston's best. Actually don't know how they stay in business. I will not mention names but from the sales person to the management to the owner they're all the same. Unfriendly uncooperative and truly does not care about you as consumer. Tile is not cheap it's a big investment and you wanted it to look right and when you seen tile in the showroom it should be the same when it is delivered. read more

Wow, I'm shocked by the other reviews here. I had an excellent experience at Tile Showcase. I've been renovating a kitchen and went to two places before settling on Tile Showcase. A tip: make an appointment before you go! I did and so a designer named Amanda was able to give me her undivided attention and assistance. She listened to what I wanted and then steered me toward choices within my price range and style interests. She explained the pros and cons of various tile choices and brought out several examples for me to compare. A major advantage to Tile Showcase is that everything is out on display -- there was no slogging through piles of tiles (which I did in another store I visited.) And there are many lovely displays to help with the choice. It's possible to walk into the store and choose to tile a room based on one of their many bathroom, kitchen and floor examples. Finally, while Amanda hunted down tile samples for me I had the chance to observe other designers with their customers. Everyone seemed friendly and professional, and the receptionist was great. I suspect that the only people who weren't getting as much from their experience were those who walked in without an appointment. So make one! You won't be disappointed. read more

I would recommend going to Tile Showcase to get good ideas since their layout is well designed, take note of the tile you like, then check on line for comparable and, in some instances, identical tile which you can get within several business days. OR---go across the street and check out Roma Tile which has very helpful customer service staff, a better stocked warehouse and better prices. In redesigning a bathroom for handicapped access, urgency in tile delivery was critical. Not only were we told "it's on the truck from NJ" for 4 weeks, it was only after we called the store that we got any update. The drastic situation our family was facing had no bearing on anything. Customer service gave us info when we called them. It was only after threatening to cancel the order and order online that there was an offer to go beyond an email exchange with the supplier. In fact, we cancelled the order and called Roma which had the tile in stock. We picked it up the same afternoon. We also dealt with Alba as a salesperson(noted in Carol S). I agree---she was patient and had good humor and was knowledgeable. She just couldn't produce the result and didn't facilitate Tile Showcase being more aggressive in demanding results from its supplier. I would never recommend using this TS for anything beyond an idea generating showroom. read more

I had a great experience with Tile Showcase. My tile search began at the Natick store where I was introduced to designer, Alba Ehrlich. She was critical to the process of narrowing down the myriad of choices they offer. I brought in an inspirational photograph to give her a sense of the look I was trying to achieve, and she delivered! She took the time to listen to what my priorities were - and then suggested ways to enhance the look. The Natick store closed and I followed her to Watertown to finish the process. When something in that showroom caught my eye, I hesitantly asked if we could play with a couple of new looks. She was more than happy to take me through the process again until we came up with the final design. The best part about this experience is that I have approached the bathroom remodel with complete confidence. I am not second guessing whether my choice in colors or materials are complementary - and that is a great feeling when you are making such a big investment. You could spend hours (or days) looking around a warehouse by yourself, but I'm convinced that the design services offered by the professionals are invaluable to the process - providing efficiency and peace of mind of the project. Great experience in the warehouse. Never went to the showroom. I went with only a vague idea of what I was looking for. Luckily for me, Onofrio and Kelli were working the day I went. They both walked around with me, answered my questions and helped me figure out how I could use the border I fell in love with and what tile would match it best. They were not at all pushy and even spoke to the men doing my bathroom to ensure that they only sold me exactly how much material I needed. They definitely made what was initially a daunting experience much more plesant. Not only were they professional but they also were personable. I found myself talking to them long after I already made my purchase and my items were at the door to be loaded in to my car. I even called back later to order additional tile and Kelli remembered me! If you ever need tile, you can't go wrong with Tile Showcase. Great selection and great staff.
