I have worked with Watertown Tile for over 8 years. It would be impossible to say enough things about Mickey and his team. With one project, some tile was delayed and Mickey rode all the way to the Cape to deliver the materials in time for the contractors. Another time, I made the mistake of ordering some marble that picked up stains too quickly. Mickey sent people to my home--above and beyond what was expected--to help me with this matter. We had worked with Watertown tile years ago when we re-did our downstairs and had had a great experience. I was excited to work with them again on a much larger project--a kitchen and a bathroom. We visited the showroom and were given a list of stone yards to visit. We picked out a few slabs for quotes and emailed them to Nauhana along with our kitchen plans. I got an email back saying "we'll be in touch soon!" A week goes by and I don't hear anything, so I call. I speak to someone else on the phone who says "not sure why she didn't get back to you but I'll take a look at this and email you tonight." Things happen, I understand that. But then I don't hear anything. That was on June 7th, almost two weeks ago. I've received nothing. No follow up, nothing. Two different employees ghosted me. Even if they didn't want to take on my project, they could have at least told me. They delayed us. Serves us right for not shopping around more. And then I just received a generic follow up email, obviously from some bot or something. It irked me but made me laugh more than anything. "Perfect!" WTF? Of all the vendors / tile places I visited when renovating a bathroom this place was by far the best. They were extremely knowledgeable and helpful - especially Ingrid! It was my first time picking tile / renovating a bathroom and they made this process so easy! They had a fabulous large selection. Used Mickey and company to supply my tile while I was building a teensy 2nd bath in my condo. Of course, I'm a little biased since it was my contractor who recommended him in the first place, but I definitely appreciated the service and attention to detail. Of course, I did my due diligence by shopping around all the tile stores in the area (Roma Tile, Tile Showcase, United Tile, etc etc). Mickey matched my prices and worked directly with my contractor to arrange pickup and delivery. Not really a budget experience (hence that elusive 5th star), but I felt good knowing the job was getting done right, at a comparable and reasonable price. read more

have been waiting for a delivery my counters for two days. The first day I waited 6 hours. With no delivery the second day I waited 12 hours to only have to call and ask him if it was still coming they reassured me three different times it was I never saw it. I would love to say that 12 hours is an exaggeration but it was literally 12 hours with no delivery and assurance that it was coming the entire day at three different times, and finally they show up with my counters , the did a terrible job , the seam was terrible it can be seen from my lining room , the granite was never sealed , horrible polish job. If anybody has ever considered going through the tile shop to get their flooring I highly suggest against it. read more

I am gutting my small,ugly bathroom with a rotting floor.This is the biggest project I have ever had done,and I have been talking to multiple contractors and shopped many,many stores and done some looking on line.I knew what I wanted and other places told me ,"You can't have that. No one makes it anymore." Because I had difficulty finding the store,I almost didn't bother. I am so glad I found them! They had exactly what I wanted at a better price than I had imagined. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only drawback is that it is kind of hidden behind a mattress shop. Once you find it, you will be back. There are loaner samples if you need to take something home. My green, marble look porcelain tile was not in the store stock, but retrieved from the warehouse in just a day or two. A fan of the sales reps & product, but not a fan of their scheduling/business practice. First of all, my sales rep was Jasmine and from the start to the end of the process she was extremely cool and helpful. She knew the products in & out and answered all of my questions. With that said and why I'm soured by the company... well it's like this. I purchased granite for the countertop for my kitchen. The scheduling was great at first when they had to measure, and came on time. I had my contractor with me who said they were old school on how they came about it, great I thought to myself, so this should be quick and look great. My contractors redid my kitchen and a few days before they were done, I made the appointment for them to complete the process. I was originally quoted that it'd be a few days because they had the slab in stock. When I called for the appointment, they said it'd be a couple of weeks due to this big order. Now, from the time the slab was supposed to be ready and installed, it would've already been the time frame they quoted me, and my order was placed before this big client. Long story short... the small guy got pushed over for the big guy. I spent a great amount of money for my countertop, and the company already has loads of it, but yet, I get pushed over. Honestly it wasn't fare, and on top of that, the person who I spoke to about scheduling at the other office was rude, and the altered delivery date couldn't happen. At the end, my countertops were quick to install and looked great, but to be pushed week for someone with more money wasn't right, so aside for warranty sake, I can't see myself back here. Sucks because I like to support small businesses vs going to a major chain. 2.5 stars but I'll be a sport and leave it at 3. read more

I remodeled two bathrooms, a kitchen and a foyer. I bought tiles from HD, Lowe's, Roma tiles and Watertown tiles. The only one I have complaints of is Watertown Tile and Marble Design. I'd be fair to say the personnel/sellers are very nice and polite however that lack professionalism and they are not careful with what they order. Twice they order the wrong tiles. For me is carelessness to order the wrong time and even worse not to remove the wrong order from my file making the same mistake twice. Because these tiles are special order it takes a week to get them. At the second mistake when j talk with one of them I was told she will get back to me but she didn't. Again careless ness and lack of professionalism. Next day a different person told me he would try to get the tiles next day delivery and that he will call me back. He didn't. Following day first person told me they will get the tiles 6 days from the first day I brought up the mistake to them. So, no next day delivery. Another time other different set of tiles were given to the wrong person. Again my contractor needed to wait another week. The compensation from their multiple mistakes was to wave the shipping fee which I believe is $20-30. Really!!! If you want an excellent and profesional service go to Roma tiles. Home Depot and Lowe's have right there good quality tiles, too. I will never again buy from Watertown tile and marble design. read more

My contractor recommended Watertown Tile to me, so it's the first place I went to look for the marble that would grace the shower and floor in my bathroom. I walked in, asked where the marble was, selected my piece, and asked how much it was. I was told that it was on 1/2 price sale, so I said I'd take 9 boxes. Simple as that. Diego and Andre were nothing short of wonderful. They answered all my questions, helped me select the perfect shade of grout and caulk, and sent me home with all the sealers and cleaners I will need when my shower is completed. When the marble came in, I got a pleasant phone call, and I went to pick it up that night. They loaded it into my car for me (in the rain), and throughout the entire process, they were just friendly, helpful, informative, and wonderful! I will definitely return to Watertown Tile next time I'm in the market for stone or tile. read more

We worked with Mickey and had a very pleasant experience. We went into the showroom, took a look at all the samples and found something we liked. Everything went without a hitch until the day of installation when they realized that the countertop hadn't been cut to include the faucet for the sink (and a faucet hadn't been brought with the sink that came with it). Mickey took care of it right away though, he had a faucet brought over right away and they cut a hole for it on site with no fuss or muss. I recommend working with Watertown Tile. read more

We recently finished our kitchen and wanted to write a quick review for Watertown Tile. We used them for our granite countertop, tiles for the floor and backsplash. They also installed all the tiles for us. From the beginning, Mickey and Eddie were always helpful and professional. We started there, went to many other tile stores, and ended up going back to them in the end. Their price was fair and we felt that they really understood what we wanted. Although the process took us time, they made sure that we approved every step and were satisfied. All the material arrived on time and was installed on schedule. They have a good selection of tiles, but they are somewhat disorganized. It took 3 weeks for our tile order to come in, which was a bit longer than expected. They also wouldn't take back our excess tile, stating a 30 day return policy. Maybe I missed it in the store, but don't recall ever seeing their policy anywhere. Plus, 30 days is quite a short timeframe for many tile related projects. read more

Ok, so let me start off by saying that home renovations are really stressful - especially when you live in Boston and your only kitchen and bathroom get ripped out for 2+ months. We used Watertown Tile for our kitchen countertops and I will say that while there was stress related to the services and installation, it had nothing to do with them and mostly had to do with our building, which is a co-op and has crazy rules. Anyway, starting from the beginning: their showroom is small, but comprehensive. I was sent home with a sample of the quartz that we went with. I will also say, that given that we were doing this on a budget, I've felt really low-brow going into places and opening up with "we're trying to do this on the cheap, so give me what you've got." Even with this, I felt respected and heard and the woman assisting me with the initial selection guided me towards what would serve our needs, did not try to upsell me, and offered me an on-site slab at a discounted cost. When you're going with "black countertops" its not like there are a million choices. I know this may not work for everyone, but it did for us which was helpful to stay on budget. Anyway, I was able to get what I was looking for in the price range I wanted. The measurement went well, the guys were on time, but the hang up occurred when our building needed to be presented with their insurance certificate which required them to go to their insurance company for a copy and there was some confusion. They put up with all my crazy phone calls and my husband's crazy phone calls and got what we needed. It resulted in a 3-5 day delay in the install, but not a big deal. The countertops look great - they were installed today, no damage to surrounding area. We ended up with 33 square feet of iQuartz countertops with an undermount sink install for ~$2000. I have to say, they were really receptive, put up with our crazy and delivered a lovely product. I'd send anyone their way looking for countertops. read more

A few months ago I started shopping for tile for a bathroom gut renovation and kitchen backsplash. While I was originally unimpressed by the showroom (small-ish, not great lighting, compared to some of the other showrooms), I ended up having an excellent experience. They have a very good selection and Rick was very patient as I looked at tile after tile and came back a few times (even with samples from the other places on Arsenal Street to compare and match colors). In the end I only bought the wall tile for the bathroom from them (and the floor tile from another store and the backsplash tile from the 3rd). Watertown Tile had a tile that none of the other places had, and at a great price. At that point I would have given them 4 or 4.5 stars, but the bathroom is now complete and the tile looks far better than I had envisioned. Even better, the fixture supplier (that I ordered the vanity and marble counter from) said the marble counter broke in shipping (after waiting 7 weeks for it) so I called Mickey and then went in with the specs (Worked with a woman, didn't catch her name, but she was knowledgeable and efficient) and a week later I had the exact marble counter I wanted (and for much less than what the fixture supplier was charging). The quality was amazing. I'm very particular and they did an amazing job (under-mount sink, single hole faucet. Fits perfectly). Definitely 5 stars. read more

I placed an order at Watertown Tile for some sample tiles on Aug 22 for a kitchen backsplash project and was told they would arrive in 6--8 days. I paid $40 total for about 5--6 tiles and shipping. I called the following week, was told they had not arrived yet and that I would be called when they did arrive. 19 days after I had placed the order, I realized no one from Watertown Tile had called me. I called them, and the person on the phone was not sure whether my order had ever been placed. He said he would look into the matter and call me within 5--10 minutes. I never received a return call. The next day (20 days after my original order), I called and asked for the manager. I explained the situation and said I would like a refund. She seemed confused and offered to place an order. She never said whether my original order had ever been placed. I responded that I was uninclined to do business with them, as it wasn't clear that they could handle my tile orders competently. She had little to say in response, which suggests a lack of experience both in dealing with problems and getting business back on track. She at one point said my order was a special order, so that's why it was taking so long. This is false-- I just ordered samples of all but one of the tiles online easily, as they are standard issue white and beige subway tiles from Daltile. Many many dealers carry them. She didn't apologize until the end of the conversation, and then in an ineffective way. She asked if there was anything she could do for me, but she didn't offer any solution to the problem of the missing sample tiles. I just asked for my money back. I hope that transaction is processed correctly, as I don't wish to speak with them again. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about Watertown Tile. Over the course of several months I went to the store a number of times to pick out a floor and decorative tile for a new bathroom. The staff was incredibly helpful AND patient (despite the fact that I'm probably the slowest decision-maker on earth). While their showroom may not be as fancy as the other 3 competing tile stores in Watertown, their selection is just as good and their service can't be beat. I also appreciated their allowing me to bring multiple sample boards home with me so I could see exactly how things would look at my house. read more

Ordered a sample piece (2 sq ft) before making the purchase and it didn't work out (it was his staff that helped me pick it). Mickey refused to return it even though I offered to pay the shipping and take a loss (restocking fee). I just didn't have a place to store it! He was rude, made a big fuss and was completely unprofessional. The total purchase was $50! I was ready to order another sample of another piece that was 4X the cost, certain it would work out but wanted to make sure because the space is not easy (my interior designer is stumped about this space too). I totally changed my mind and decided to go look elsewhere in search of this stone I had liked. A potential $2500-3000 job will go elsewhere because of terrible customer service. This business needs to realize that especially when dealing with stone that varies in color, they are going to have to be more understanding and flexible with clients. I renovated an entire gutted apartment and redid 4 bathrooms and was never treated like this by anytone else! They all worked hard to ensure I was happy even if it meant recommending I go elsewhere. read more

We are currently remodeling a house in Worcester & have ordered lots of tile over the course of several months from Watertown Tile. Micky & Eddie have been nothing but helpful & patient as I have taken and returned more tile samples than I can remember. I have been to numerous tile stores between Watertown and Worcester and no one can beat their prices or their service. Everyone who has seen the tile we ultimately selected has commented on what nice tile it is & it was under our budgeted amount! The only room we have left to do is the kitchen, and I will definitely return to Watertown Tile for this room, as well, even though there are many stores much closer. read more

Josh failed to show up twice, the last time not even calling. I called Mickey to provide this feedback so other customer's would not waste their time and while I left three messages on different days, he never called back.
