My guess is the sales staff is on commission which is fine, but I was charged more than double for something that is available not to far away! I've been meaning to write this review for a while. We recently renovated our entire house and needed flooring options for the bathrooms, laundry room and a backsplash for our kitchen. We had an idea of what we wanted but weren't sure what we'd find in our budget. We worked with Justin and within the first visit he'd found exactly the look we were hoping for for each room we needed flooring for. He was spot on in his assessment based on what we described. He also found a backsplash that we absolutely love and had a lot more personality to it than what we originally picked out online prior to going in. This place is intimidating with all their options but Justin was tremendous at being personable, following up and working with us to find the options that we live with and love every day in our house. read more

Love love the selection!! Not a fan of the staff attitudes and/or lack a personality and or professionalism . I have been in four times and have witnessed AND have been the recipient of all of this. Standing at the counter waiting for somebody to help me while six people have conversations and not one is helping anybody or acknowledging anybody standing at the counter. A gentleman working on the computer has to say could somebody stop talking and help them please?? Asking somebody to throw out a piece of paper that was attached to my order and getting a look of I can't believe you're asking me to do that. Never said no problem have a good day nothing took it for my hand and whips around frustrated. Or hearing one of the female employees talk about her experience while looking at a couch and couldn't believe the lack of service she received and begins using vulgarity as she explains it to her coworker and her frustrations and I'm standing to her right looking at tile. ‍ Or how about I need to look at grout and you don't ask me my opinion, colors of the room, my thoughts and you proceed to choose it like it's going into your home and you say this is the one(huh). Only on the fourth visit to pick up part of my order did a gentleman actually greet me and made it a pleasant experience. However I did get to hear the others standing around the counter complaining. So perhaps it's just my experience or maybe my expectations are to high, but there's a lot of work to be done in customer service arena n my personal opinion. read more

Let me start off by saying that if I could give less than 1 star I would... SURE they have a wide selection of tiles and materials you may need to get a job done, however, in my opinion, even if I have to drive across state lines for my tile I would, because coming back here is not worth it even in the slightest. The day I came in I was overwhelmed by the disorganization of the store which is a complete mess. There are tiles everywhere. The spacing between the rows is minimal and haphazard. I thought about bringing my friend, who has a disability, but there is no way that this place is ADA compliant. I'm shocked they haven't been shut down. I ended up having to use the bathroom, located down a hall of reject tile boards and where they store other trash. Got to the women's and it's appallingly disgusting, worse than some gas station bathrooms that I've been in. I tried to collect myself and kept walking through the rows - eventually around the desk. There's what seems to be a room that the employees use as a drop zone. This is where things started to get even more interesting. There's a middle aged person, dark hair, working there addressed as Jodie? or Jodine? Jolie? (pretty sure she said she's a manager...). Crass. Cleavage - I did not come in here for a show, I came in for tile. Quite frankly yelling instead of talking and came in after I arrived and left before I did. I'm not sure what the exact dynamic is here but that person is bad for business. At this point, I was burnt out and not able to take anymore. This place is a degree away from a zoo which is almost unfair to say about zoo animals. Do NOT spend any money here. read more

The tile selection is very good here since the space is overcrowded with tile samples. The 3 stars is because of the service or the lack of. We were in the store for about 30 minutes browsing and not once were we greeted or acknowledged by an employee. Since everyone seemed to busy to help us we left. My wife and I are redoing our master bath and we wanted to tile our shower enclosure and replace the ugly floor tile. First thing you'll notice when you walk in is the incredible tile selection. If there is a tile you need and they don't have it, it doesn't exist! The young woman who helped us could not have been more helpful or patient! If you see a comment that the customer service isn't great you need to realize how busy they are! It's crowed for a reason! We didn't wait but 5 minutes to get help and the store was packed. My wife, who if a Virgo and impossible to please but she was very happy with the tile we picked out. Of course that makes my life easier. I am not a person who does the decorating in our home but I have to say I was very impressed with the tile my wife picked out! We were on a tight construction schedule and Jake kept me informed of the delivery date of our tile. When I told him we need it by a certain date he was great at making sure our order came in! Thank you Jake!! The selection, customer service, friendly atmosphere makes Tile Plus More the place to go! If all of that doesn't convince you, they have a sign on their front door asking you to bring your dog in! That's a good business owner!! read more

I could not be happier with Tiles Plus More. It isn't just a large selection - you'd be shocked how deceptively large the showroom is when looking from Route 9 - and the competitive prices. It is the patient, forthright and honest customer service. I wound up at Tiles Plus More after Tile Showcase of Watertown put me in a bind. [You can read that review as well .... It's entertaining how they responded by threatening a lawsuit instead of correcting a long term problem but I digress] Anyhow back to the good guys in the tile business ... I was under a major time crunch. I walked in - stressed beyond belief - they provided options, hassle free take home samples, clear expectations on availability and a few jokes along the way. Here's the thing .... Everyone that needs tile is under some time pressure. It may be urgent or just really soon. But no one buys and hopes to use it within a year. So you need clear communication on arrival dates, availability, delivery, etc. This is as important the quality and price of the tile. I cannot recommend Tiles Plus More in strong enough terms. Holy selection, Batman! This place looks deceiving from outside. You walk in and instantly get overwhelmed with the selection. Don't bother going at it alone without help. That all said, do go to a bigger store and see some model showers or kitchens and then go to the store like this. Our sales guy Justin was very helpful. After about an hour of looking through hundreds of different tiles just in two colors we had in mind, we ended up taking a pile of tile samples home to see what it looks like in our house with our lighting. I went to several tile stores looking for tile for my bathroom renovation before I found tiles plus more. I was astounded at the lack of communication from the others- no calls back even when I was trying to make a purchase! From the minute I stepped foot into tiles plus more everything changed. Sarah was not only helpful, but she " got me" quickly understanding my style. She chose a complimentary tile that has been the tile everyone compliments. We were contacted as soon as it arrived. We needed a few extra due to a change in shower size and it was no problem. Even the two broken ones were replaced quickly without a problem. I have to have the plumbing in my house redone and have decided to take the opportunity to upgrade my 2 bathrooms. BARBARA was the initial person who helped me when I was first looking and based on her style and knowledge, I decided to seek her out for guidance. Bathroom one: I went in with absolutely NO idea what to do with one of the bathrooms except I knew I wanted porcelain wood tile (because Barbara had shown this to me previously; I had no idea there was such a thing). After talking about how I wanted the bathroom to 'feel' but not sure how to get that feel, Barbara zoned in on what I was saying and put my 'feel' into a design and it was EXACTLY what I wanted. Ordering the tiles, she took care of all the details and explained the different qualities. I went back to her for the second bathroom and this one I was a little more clear about what I was looking for. With her stellar ability to listen to what the customer is saying and her guidance, we were in and out in under two hours and I am totally psyched about getting my bathrooms redone and how I know they are going to look. One thing is for sure; I could NOT have done this without Barbara's help. You can get tiles at many different places, but you cannot always find someone who knows what they are talking about and can speak to all facets of working with the product. read more

A roof leak prompted the need to renovate my only bathroom (which had been renovated in 2006). I was annoyed, overwhelmed & had a general feeling of dread at the thought of undergoing another renovation. After stops at two tile stores & two home improvement centers, I found my way to Tiles Plus. Julie listened to my predicament. She helped me select a tile that had some of the same features I loved from my last renovation (iridescent glass) while helping me to add depth and warmth. They had a mosaic tile with iridescent glass, varying opaque and transparent glass, marble & metal. The tile offered everything I was looking for. They also had a coordinating marble tile for the floor. In one stop, everything changed & I actually became excited about the project! My tile was competitively priced and arrived very quickly. They had a selection of no drill accessories that worked with the 1x1 mosaic tiles I'd selected. They worked with me to select the right color grout, assisted with selecting the perfect threshold (which they then sealed for me while I waited free of charge), & paint color for the room. Not only were they knowledgeable, customer service oriented and competitively priced, they also went above & beyond when the vanity I'd intended to reuse turned out to also have water damage. I called them in a bit of a panic. The work was in progress at my home & I was in Mexico. My contractor had lost half a day shopping for a vanity & I was missing pool time by shopping online. They referred me to a local cabinet shop. The cabinet shop turned out to be great to work with as well. The project is now near completion & I'm loving the selections. My Tiles Plus experience made all the difference in the world. read more

I had an excellent experience picking out tiles here. We came in on Wednesday, and had tile at our house by Friday!! While we were there, we were able to meet with a designer who asked us questions and listened to what we were looking for to help us choose the tile for us. She was helpful from start to finish. We had originally tried finding tile at another shop down Route 9 and they were not helpful at all in terms of guiding us to the right choice. This was a much better experience, and I would definitely go back in the future!! read more

The good: The selection is huge and intimidating. The salesperson who helped me (Barbara) was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and she actually listened to what I wanted. In some other tile places, they push you to like what they have in stock, even if you say that it's not really what you want. But Barbara homed in on what was important to me and immediately grabbed some selections she thought I might like. I walked out of there having happily chosen all the tile for my bathroom. And I'm not even a fan of tile, although I recognize that you need it for a bathroom, so that was great. The bad: Their execution leaves much to be desired. The contractor's office called them SEVEN times in one week to talk about delivery, and each time she was told that someone would get back to her because they were so busy. They never called back until I called them and asked (nicely) for them to call her. They ARE busy, but that's an unacceptable way to do business. I am the co-owner of a business and our cardinal rule is that you always get back to a customer immediately. The worst: The contractor sent someone to pick up the tile and he was given someone else's order, which we didn't realize until it was at my house and I knew instantly that it wasn't mine. So the poor kid had to drive all the way back to Tiles Plus to get the right stuff. They had switched orders and given someone else mine. How can you be in this kind of business and not be especially careful to give the right stuff to the right person? Even if the person who assembled the order was someone new (and I don't know whether he was or not), doesn't anyone check? Customers are the people who make your business exist, and if you deal with them ineptly, your business will eventually disappear. read more

Been back several times for additional purchases since the earlier review. Staff knows how to guide folks through the maze of options and provides Options at multiple price points. Yes you can always hunt around for the rick bottom price but the labor portion of the project cost is high enough they we found the upgraded tile worth the incremental investment every time. Large selection of tile, but the store layout is random and confusing. There is no clear sense of organization which makes sifting through the various tiles frustrating and time-consuming. More importantly, the customer service is horrible. I don't want to assume that the employees have issues with minorities, but I'm not sure how else to account for the rude behavior of the associates. We entered on a Friday night and were the ONLY customers in the store. We walked around for 15 minutes and NOT ONE of the five associates ever offered to help us. In fact, no one acknowledged our presence at all. We didn't even get a "hello". We are remodeling our kitchen and bath but will go elsewhere. I refuse to beg for service. In this economy, there are other places that would love my business. As for the response from Scott, you should know I do not work for a competitor. I came in at 7 pm Friday, 10/12 with my husband and two children. You can ask anyone working that night if they remember seeing an African American family in the store. Second, I do not expect associates to pester me, but I do expect a "hello" when I enter the store. After browsing for some time, I don't think it is too much for someone to simply say, "Let me know if there is anything I can help you with." I didn't realize I now have to go to a customer service desk every time I enter a store. If that's the way it works with your store, that's fine. I hardly call three other reviews over the past three years "proof" of your claims of great service. read more

Recently renovated a bathroom. I love the tiles I got from Tiles Plus More, love the people who helped me choose them, and the pricing was very fair. The problem I encountered was that tiles they said were "in stock" were not in stock, necessitating finding the tiles elsewhere, and delaying my project. At the time, I thought the contractor I was working with had dropped the ball. However, I am once again in the middle of a (second) bathroom renovation, and once again, the tiles I was told were "in stock" have mysteriously not materialized. There seems to be a recurring problem of over-promising and under-delivering. Don't know if they have a poor inventory system or if they simply sell the same lot of tiles to multiple customers, but it is very disappointing and extremely inconvenient! read more

We recently made over 2 bathrooms and Tiles Plus More was the best place to go. We were very fortunate to talk with Julie when we did our first bathroom - she was extremely helpful figuring out exactly what would work. We ended up with a really cool shower which included river rocks for the base. Guests comment on how awesome the bathroom is. The 2nd bath, Julie spent a lot of time giving us different ideas on laying out the tiles for the floor and shower. The bathroom came out unbelievable.
