Snuck in just a few minutes before closing and they were super friendly and helpful, not rushed at all. We were looking for filet mignon and didn't see them right away but they had a whole wagyu filet and offered to hand slice them for us on the spot. Even carefully explained the options and how to hand the "tail" to have the best results. We seared them on the stove and finished to temp in the oven and mmmmmmmm so so soooo good! I had earlier stopped in and picked up some pork chops and the service was quick and friendly and the chops were tender and juicy. Returned two weeks later and had planned on ordering one of their larger variety packages, about 30 lbs and maybe picking up the next day. Combination of pig, beef and some chicken. The gals quickly packaged everything up with smiles and sent me on my way in a short time. We know it's friendly efficient service and a product better than anything else in the area that keeps the doors open for small family businesses. This butcher shop is AMAZING!! They offer wonderful fresh meat, sausage, and bacon along with a wide variety of frozen meats. They also sell local fresh eggs and milk. And I am picky as I grew up a cattle rancher's granddaughter that ate the best beef possible. I won't buy grocery store meat anymore. From tri tip, to chicken, to nugget hams, to carne asada, to ribs, to pork and more, they have the best quality. And you can get ready to eat things like their ribs or pre-marinated items that are ready to cook. We heard about Tillamook Meat Market from an acquaintance a couple of months ago. We put it on our list of places to go because we are always looking for better quality meat. I don't know what was going on with the reviewers who wrote such negative reviews below, but it certainly was the opposite of our experience. We were treated extremely courteously and advised throughout our purchasing experience. At no time did we feel pressured to buy something we didn't want, or disrespected for any choice we made. We made our trip to Tillamook today specifically to have lunch at the French Cheese Factory, (which is great fun) purchase a case of our favorite wines, and then find Tillamook Meats as we have been wanting to do for so long. This was all in celebration of paying off our car, which for us required something special to mark the occasion. The visit to Tillamook Meats accomplished that goal beautifully. read more

My husband and I are teachers. He is a talented cook, and has shopped at Tillamook Meats for some delicious dinners, since we moved here. He is also teaching an Anatomy and Physiology class, for students who are going into nursing and other healthcare fields. I dropped by the store to see if I could buy a few fresh beef kidneys, for his students to study in class. Garrick and Erica were happy to help. They not only found us some, but they also donated them, free of charge. They were so fresh and perfect, they should have been a steak and kidney pie, but it was a worthy cause. Meat was freezer burned, didnt realize it until we got it out to cook later that day. Meat was brown as well, looked like it was left in a freezer for awhile or possibly left out before it was frozen. Either way threw it away. Had to stop by 3 different times because they were closed, "during business hours" which were posted on the door. Matt, Vicki, and the boys are always so welcoming. Anytime we're in the Tillamook vicinity we stop to stock up on tri-tips and dogs. Oh and bacon of course. They'll cut it to your liking. I would give it a zero for the stars if I could. Disorganised, and unprofessional behavior I experienced at this place. Greeted with a rude attituted and short temper. After I order 5 steaks and a thing of peppered bacon I passed over my debit card and it was grabbed from my hand causing it to fall to the floor. The "let's call her women" huffed at me because she had to bend over to pick it up. Not only did that attitude leave a bad taste in my mouth but the scream in the back room where the guys were just was a unsettling environment to be in. So, I was travelling through Tillamook, and I had already tried the Tillamook Smoker factory. I wanted to try something else. I went to another meat market, that happened to close a half hour before I showed up. Driving around, trying to figure out how to get back on 101 South, I drove by this place. Greatest 'being lost' find ever! Walked in, asked if they had any summer sausage. Young man behind the counter reached in the case, opened up a sealed pack and offered me a slice. It was hands down, the best summer sausage I've ever had! Nothing like the supermarket summer sausages that leave a coating of fat on your tongue! I also picked up a package of 4 cheesy polish dogs that were just as amazing. Yes, you pay a little more, but the quality is by far above anything I've ever had from a supermarket! Amazing. Meat I got here was the best I have had in a long time. When I was little my Father got our meat from a butchers and it was always good, I forgot and instead went to the Super Markets. Mistake. The meat here is more tender, more flavorful and there is no hormones, steroids or antibiotics, AND the price is comparable to the chain food stores. For 65 dollars I get enough to last the month, and have some left over for me, my husband and my son. Everyone is really friendly and the owner is funny, when you come in they treat you like a regular, even if it's your first time. If you live close enough to get your meat here, then you should. We stopped by this butcher after our visit of the Tillamook factory. I read about this place and wanted to check out the difference between meat from a butcher versus meat purchased from a grocery story. When we got there, it was raining so I left the kids and husband in the car and ran into the store. The man at the counter was chatting with a customer. I waited a few minutes and the man was in no hurry to end his conversation but the customer was kind enough to take his leave and usher me next. The man at the counter (who I assume is the butcher and will refer to him as such) was nice. He answered my questions and was knowledgeable. As he was approachable, I wish I had more time to explore but we had to get back to Depoe Bay for our whale watching ride so I decided on some pre-marinated meat, petit sirloins, and T-bones. The T-bones came regular or with a rub. The prices are comparable to super market non-sale prices but the meat is fresher and of better quality. When I told the butcher I found him on Yelp, he was so tickled by the novelty that he asked if I had children and threw in a bag of hot dogs they make there. The marinated meat was very lean and cooked very fast. DH over cooked them but they were (incredibly) still tender. The petite sirloins were lean and very tender. If someone had said they were filet mignons, I would not have questioned them. The T-Bones were fatty enough to be juicy but unlike the supermarket variety, these were nicely trimmed. Finally, the hot dogs. The hot dogs were not uniform shape, which in and of itself very neat and authentic. The hot dogs tasted more like Bratwurst. They were very filling and very good. They grilled nicely. We could not finish all of the hot dogs on the same night so we boiled the left over hot dogs the next day just to reheat (versus cook) them and they plumped right back up. If we are in the coast again, we will definitely grab our meat here. However, next time, we will give ourselves more time to explore the store as they had a variety of rubs and sauces that looked interesting. Besides, the butcher is so friendly, he seemed like the type of person who would have cool information to share about the area. read more

We were so pleasantly surprised by the friendly customer service, variety in meats, and samples they gave us! A very cute family- run business. Erica, son Anthony, father Matt and brother Devon all treated us as if we had known them for years! I have loved the Tillamook Meat Inc. for years. Spending $1000s on beef, Bennett farms milk, pepperoni, and best of all, BACON. They have great bacon! However after my last visit and about 6 months of reflection I have decided I will never bring my business back. My visit was undoubtedly defined by bullying. It was really embarrassing and sad. I brought a good friend into the store and he felt bullied too. They made fun of him for asking about the different cuts of beef. They made fun of me for supposedly "going to daddy's beach house, driving daddy's Mercedes, and spending daddy's money... Lucky you...". This was a pathetic insult as I am a manual laborer: a farmer. I work my ass off to pay for my vacations and especially my good meat. I will be bringing my meat to the beach in cooler from now on... read more

This is a real family business that offers quality meats. They make their own sausages, marinated meats and sell Certified Angus Beef. I'm very picky about the meat I buy and when I went in, Matt the owner, took me into the back and butchered an entire beef tenderloin right in front of me so I could tell him exactly what I wanted (I was buying the whole tenderloin). The butchering area was clean and his two sons were back there processing cuts of beef. Matt, Vicki and family were very friendly and you can tell they wanted to give me a quality product at a fair price. I'll definitely be back! read more

We vacationed in Tillamook this last week and decided to stop in here for our meats based on the other Yelp reviews. We were SO happy with our purchases!! Upon arriving, they were very accommodating, even though they prefer 24 hour notice for a Weekender Package. That pack gave the three of us enough meat for a few breakfasts, lunches and five dinners. We want to start out by saying we don't post or write reviews as a general rule but our experience at Tillamook Meat has left us KNOWING that we had to put in writing how we feel about this business. We live in Milwaukie Oregon so our trips to Tillamook are not a short jaunt up the street or around the corner. It is worth every mile and then some!!!! And we just returned home from our 4th trip to this OUTSTANDING establishment. The meat is the finest we have ever had !!! Country Pork ribs that melt in your mouth. BACON !!!!!! The bacon is the BEST that you can buy anywhere. The handmade sausage, brats, and Jerky are mouthwatering. But HANDS DOWN you will NEVER EVER buy or eat a TRI-Tip that will compare to what Matt produces in his butcher shop !!!! Then there is the customer service. The customer service??? You are treated like family !!! You are treated with so much respect and consideration that you feel like you have known Matt and his children for a lifetime. We can't begin to thank Matt and his family enough for the wonderful way they have treated us. We will enjoy many many more years doing business with Tillamook Meat. My husband and I recently passed through this town and were recommended to get meat from this local shop. So I bought a thanksgiving turkey from this place, not only did I meet the rudest people but the big one with greasy black hair not only mean-mugged me the entire time but about knocked my 5 year old son over and yelled at her like it was her fault. I highly suggest not doing business with these people, very rude and highly unprofessional!!! Disgusted, and the turkey was literally the worst turkey we ever had. Two thumbs down. read more
