The lady who completely ignored me standing at the register vs saying just a minute was offset by the really nice guy who rang me up and the even nicer man who brought me my food to my table. Food 3/5 - I got oyster shooters and clam chowder. The oyster shooters were watery with the sauce on top. It would be nicer to have an oyster on the half shell option. We ordered the halibut and chips for $29.00 which were just average but thought they would have been great at this price. Tried to get a glass of water with the meal but was told the restaurant doesn't have a filter on the system so we would have to buy bottled water if we wanted some. The first time we came we bought seafood. The first oyster we opened smelled so bad that it could be smelled from the other room. They were all dead. We came back 6 months later (today) to try and buy clams. Though the ladies were helpful trying to pick the few live ones out of the dead, I did not want to risk eating them. They mentioned that they don't sell fast. On a side note, when I asked to go to the bathroom they said it's been broken for a few months and they don't even have a place to go. I felt bad! Upon arrival their sign was off and it was 12:30, two other cars pulled up while we searched for new places. They turned they sign on so I was excited! I ordered halibut fish and chips and a small chowder and paid over $25 for thin fish with very bland batter, frozen fries and watery slaw. To top it off they have teenage boys with zero customer service etiquette running their kitchen and front of house. the place just doesn't seem clean in general and WAY over priced. I have been to Tillamook Cheese factory so many times, but never noticed that there is a restaurant/cafe right opposite which has better food than the Tillamook factory. The crab melt was just awesome... would not mind driving there just for that. Their fried (battered) shrimp was really good (real big shrimp and done right). Fish and chips (cod fish): Good with the tartar sauce... [i generally prefer the fried fish without the tartar sauce, but this did not have any salt to it). Salmon and chips: Not to my liking, but my wife and friend (Sunita) liked it more than the cod fish. Crab cakes: Good and different as you can feel the veggies and not everything is totally mashed up (my friend called it the best crabcake he's had). We really wanted to like this place. My family went on a little road trip last weekend. We found this restaurant on yelp and it got pretty good ratings. For a family of five it came to a little over 60 bucks. Which is normal. What got me was the size portion wasn't great. My son had the grilled cheese. He said it wasn't good. It didn't taste like an 8$ meal. He said he could have had that at home. Another thing that was a biggie was there was a hair in his fries. That was a deal breaker and he threw away his meal. After touring the cheese factory, our 9-person-family headed across the street for a seafood lunch. Although the place seems a little plain, do not be deceived! EVERYTHING is amazing, and the guy who cooked and served our meal was fantastic, adding prawns and extra oyster shooters to our meal; we'd arrived later in the day and weren't able to try any crab meat (except the cocktail which was amazing)! But what you REALLY need to order is the clam chowder! Seriously. Try everything, but if you leave without even a small size of the clam chowder, YOU WILL BE MISSING OUT! Mo's may be "world famous" but we had the opportunity to try them side by side at home and it was unanimous--Mo's is second best! Fresh Seafood for the win! It's worth noting that almost all of the meals are ____ & chips, so if you're not stoked about fried food, you might want to look elsewhere. We were visiting the Oregon coast and stopped at the Tillamook Cheese Factory. I was very much in the mood for seafood, and was worried that there weren't any options in the area. Lo and behold, right across the street from the Cheese Factory is the Fresh Seafood Market. This place is a complete dive, and it completely hit the mark. The food was incredible. The quality was over the top and the guys at the place clearly know their fish. Dive is not a negative, but be prepared for it. And the only draw back, is that the food is quite spendy. We ordered the fried salmon and chips. The fish was light and perfectly fried. It has a very light batter which let the salmon shine, and the crunch was perfect. We also tried the clam chowder which hit the spot. And finally, we had the crab melt, with a ludicrous amount of crab. Delicious. Must try the food. read more

Great little seafood shack! I wish I would have known about the crab melt when I gave this place a try! I had the clam strips and my bf had the halibut and chips and we shared a cup of really good clam chowder. They don't skimp on anything! The portions were pretty big, fresh, and they brought out the tray of food with 2 cups of every sauce they offer! I'll be back for the crab melt! read more

I'm from Boston and apparently folks on the West Coast don't know much about great seafood. The clam chowder here is "ok" but far from outstanding. Tiny little bits of clam in a mostly soupy chowder does not make for excellent clam chowder! I can do better by dumping a $1.00 can of clams into a pot with Progresso Clam Chowder and come up with a MUCH better chowder for a LOT less than what this place charges. This place is more or less on a par with Mos which I also consider to be pretty mediocre. read more
