Stopped by after our visit to the factory across the road. Got the basket of popcorn shrimp with fries. Our order came out pretty quickly. The fries tasted fresh and the shrimp was crispy.

LOCAL CRAB ROLL, CHOWDER BOWL, WITH GREAT SAME DAY BAKED BREAD !! Was really hungry and was plenty of food! Ate all the bread bowl!!

Extremely good food, had a Crab Roll and a Beard Bowl Chowder, everything seemed really fresh tasting, bread was same day really good, I advise a bread bowl! one bit, and I knew I had to take a picture,,, will be back soon good menu, polite staff! As most reviews will state, this place is an absolute hole in the wall but across the street from the most famous tourist attraction. I think because there's not much to do in Tillamook they get away with it looking so incredibly ghetto inside and out. However, I still recommend coming here. We had AMAZING smoked salmon (Garlic & pepper), fries with fry sauce, clam chowder, and an incredible crab melt. The food was amazing, seriously I had to take a nap after. Again, it's a ghetto looking place for sure... they should consider upgrading the building so it doesn't look like a school portable... it's weird but the food makes it worth it. The dudes were super friendly too and listening to damn good music. The only stars being taken away are because yall need to make that place look more attractive.

Right across from the Tillamook creamery. We loved the patio and just car watching. Food was delicious and definitely hit the spot after the drive from Portland. The crab melt was sooooo good.

Point 1) There are two inside tables capable of sitting six people or so. Picnic tables are located outside. Point 2) Fresh seafood is available for sale in addition to menu items. Point 3) The salmon and chips were excellent with good-sized pieces of fish. They are known for their quality seafood. Please note that the chips (fries) are not what Old Oregon Smokehouse is known for. Point 4) Unpaved parking lot can get muddy when it rains. Point 5) They can and do run out of some menu items. Note my menu board photo. Point 6) Service was friendly. Ambience was minimal. Point 7) They have a limited assortment of soft drinks available. I didn't see any bottled water for sale.

Fairly good food directly across the street from the Tillamook Creamery. When you're on the highway look for the yellow sign. The best thing we ate at Old Oregon Smokehouse was their fish 'n chips (cod). The batter was light and tasty, and the fish tasted fresh and was impressively prepared. The fries were fairly limp and on the soggy side. We also shared a bowl of pretty good clam chowder. What might have made this a four-star review was a chance to try their crab cakes, which other reviewers rave about, and the reason we came to Old Oregon Smokehouse that day. They weren't offering crab cakes that day. Not sold out of them. Just not offering them. Two star building. Outdoor seating at old picnic tables. Bus your own table.

The Fish Peddler - Steamer Clams & Clam Chowder

My family and I were in town on vacation and were looking for some seafood. After a little bit of…read moreYelp research, we decided on The Fish Peddler. I'm almost a little sad that we picked this place first, because I don't know that any other place we eat at is going to be as good or better. This is a combination restaurant / fish counter. Don't let that discourage you from eating there. When we walked in, there was one table left. Always a good sign when a place is busy, especially during the off season. There's generally a reason why the other places are empty. In addition, there was no smell from the fish counter. A sign that everything is fresh. Honest, you really don't even notice there is a counter there once you sit down. We went with a half-dozen oysters on the half shell, Dominic's Fish and Chips, which is the fresh local catch of the day. Today it happened to be Rockfish, always one of my favorites, the Shrimp and Chips, and The Cioppino, which is a seafood stew. This has clams, mussels, fish, prawns, and crab in a tomato sauce. There's a decent selection of beer as well. First, I want to say these were some of the best oysters I've had, fresh out of Willapa Bay. We should have ordered a dozen or two. These came with some lemon and fresh horseradish. Try the horseradish! The oysters tasted great with nothing on them or with a little fresh horseradish. The fish was fried perfectly, golden brown, not oily, and not overcooked. You can easily tell this was fresh Rockfish. The shrimp were fried perfectly as well. The Cioppino was amazing! Again, all the seafood was prepared perfectly. But it was the flavor of the stew that really stood out. This is a dish not to be overlooked and tastes great on a cold day. The food here is outstanding! Though this is a combination market / restaurant, the atmosphere felt comfortable and inviting. The service was great as well. Everyone here was friendly. If you're looking for some great fresh seafood, the Fish Peddler is a must eat and there are plenty of items on the menu that can bring you back multiple times. Honestly, I hope we come back here before we leave town.

My first impression upon entering the complex was that this was a first-rate establishment! The car park, the building, the presentation of historic artifacts, the viewing gallery, and the gift shop were all quality. The viewing gallery is on the second floor and they have an elevator, thus ADA compliant. We did not dine at Tillamook, so I cannot speak to the food. The cheese samples were ample, and they were delicious! Tillamook offers self-guided tours or premium experiences for early arrival tours and tastings. I'm kicking myself for not planning in advance, as I would have indulged in the premium experience. I am in the area the first week of June, so this may not be an issue in the winter. The self guided tours is what you make of it. They provide an app to download and walk you through the process. We really enjoyed our visit to the creamery! The gift shop is filled with Tillamook products along with loads of local fare, and typical gifts. Well worth the time!

There is a Tillamook Country Smoker down the street, which is a small beef jerky outlet shop, and then there's the highly visited Tillamook Creamery, where they make the cheese and ice cream. The jerky outlet was awesome with really affordable prices and a variety of flavors, including tons of sugar-free options. Tillamook Creamery, on the other hand, was hectic. Lines everywhere, but managed well with all their signage and employees directing you where to go. The parking lot was huge and crowded, but easy to find a spot as people came and went. Food 2/5* On first glance, everything looked good. I planned to get so many things, but they ran out of grilled cheese sandwiches and when I saw them cutting up the deep dish pizza and it was soft, not crispy, I changed my mind on the pizza. The burger was tiny and you couldn't really taste the sharp white cheddar at all. The mac and cheese, also bland. The random sprinkle of crushed pretzels on top did not work at all - too chunky, hard, and did nothing to enhance the mac and cheese. The only dish that was good with flavor were the cheese curds. Dipped in spicy ranch, it was a great pairing. Self-Guided Tour & Samples 5/5* The highlight was the self-guided tour upstairs that allowed you to look into the factory below. On the way out was a sampling station, where they had 4 choices of packaged cheese snacks to sample, plus whatever special they had. They were so generous, with no limit to how many you wanted to sample. The best was the smoked black pepper white cheddar. Dog Friendly 3/5* They also had a store inside selling all their goodies and merchandise, including for dogs! Although the front had a huge lawn allowing dogs, it was inconvenient that dogs weren't allowed inside. There were two lines inside, one for hot food and the super long line for ice cream. There's also another line outside for just ice cream only and small snacks. It would've been nice if there was a line for hot food outside so those with dogs could stay together. Overall it was a good experience, but a one and done kinda thing.

We were hopeful going in, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. Our server, Brenton, was one of the rudest employees we've encountered not just at Pelican Brewing Company, but anywhere along the Oregon coast. He came across as though he genuinely disliked his job, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. Because of this, my husband and I decided not to order anything and chose to leave instead. The overall vibe made it difficult to enjoy our visit. Needless to say, we won't be returning to this location. In the future, we would much rather drive the extra 45 minutes to the Pelican Brewing Company Cannon Beach location, which has always offered a much more welcoming environment and friendly service.

There is a fountain area, a coffee bar and a refrigerated cooler for drinks. The wine section is expansive and beautifully displayed. I can't speak to the quality, as I didn't partake in adult beverages. The shop is comprehensive with loads of deli-like merchandise, boutique items and souvenirs. They offer a lot of hand-crafted and locally-made fare, which is my preference. The food was outstanding! I order the cheese charcuterie with salami and my husband ordered the Blue Heron Classic.
