PLEASE READ WHOLE REVIEW! Watch your Tab!HUGE GRATITUDE FOR THE OWNER!
Bartenders will not serve due to personal issues with certain people, and will specifically tell them or tell other people at the bar that they won't serve them due to their personal issues or opinions towards someone
********************************************Last night I went out for some family fun. My significant other was buying drinks for myself & two other family members periodically.
After a couple hours I told him to close our tab after my final drink.
The bartender walked up & I asked to close our tab & we also asked if she grabbed the money we left for drinks at the bar.. She said that if we didn't leave the money in a specific spot at the edge of the bar, she didn't grab the money. I repeated myself twice when saying that she must've grabbed it because she cleared our area while we were outside. she continued to say that if the money wasn't in the area where she specifically pointed, she didn't get the money and somebody else must've grabbed it.
She brings the receipt, I didn't expect to get a sample receipt, I just asked to close a tab and get a receipt back, but she brought a sample receipt to show the charges that we're going to be processed on our card, thankfully. I then tell her that we already paid for the two last drinks that my sister ordered before she walked outside. The bartender continued to say the same story. At that point my significant other & my sister told me to just let her keep the $17 and use it as a tip.
I didn't wanna let it go because I knew for a fact that we left a Ten, Five and two Ones ($17.00) because I was staring at it for the last couple minutes before we walked outside & instead of the bartender even trying to say she thought it was a tip, she continued to say she didn't grab any money!

The bartender came back & I told her that we already paid for two drinks, bartender continued to say she didn't get money.
I told her she must have because when we walked back in from being outside, our area at the bar was cleared so she needed to pull the cameras up so I can see who took the money!! As soon as I mentioned "Cameras", she immediately offered to "pay" for our drinks with her "own money".
She takes the drinks off our tab, and we tell her that we know for a fact we left money and we're not here to have her pay for our drinks. She didn't want to admit anything and I knew she was in the wrong.
After we paid and got our last drinks we sat outside in the back baffled at the fact that the bartender was treating us like we were taking money from her.
While we were sitting outside, a man ended up, mentioning that he was the owner of the bar. I called the owner over and explain the situation because we would truly be embarrassed if somebody did steal the money we left at the bar and she honestly did have to pay out of pocket for our drinks.
He was very nice about it and sat between us and watched the cameras with us.
Cameras show my sister and I had left the money near the edge of the bar(closest to the bartender) our drinks, personal Items, and cellphone on the bar as well.
We walk out for a few minutes leaving everything at the bar and knew our cousin was standing near our items so we were not worried.
While we were outside, I noticed we were taking a while, so I walked back to the bar to grab our items, leaving the drinks&money.
I was outside for no longer than six minutes.
I walked back inside and noticed that our area was cleared except the low sprite and the beer we hadn't drank yet.
The cameras DID show the bartender grabbing the money from where we were sitting while cleaning our area and put it straight into her tip jar.
The bartender THEN said she "thought it was only ones".
She FINALLY admitted to taking money ONLY after the owner went over the camera footage with her.
The owner apologized and offered us two drinks on him for the mishap.
I order our free drinks and the bartender was super nice.
I told her that I did not want what happened tonight to cause us to have issues but I am NOT drunk and knew we left the money.
The bartender continued to say that she never said that she didn't take any money and she doesn't grab money and put it in her tip jar if it's 'big bills' AND she was still trying to say she was paying "out of pocket" for our drinks she took off our tab.
I would not have gone the length I did if she even tried to say she thought it was a tip or tried going through her tip jar to see the money bundled together in her tip jar was $17!
In my opinion, I think she was just so embarrassed she didn't want to admit to doing anything wrong and the apology we got was in the sense it was still "our fault", even though Camera showed proof of her Lying & Stealing.
(Bartender had black short hair, looked like she was in her late 30s)
Either way, I'm just glad that I was able to resolve my issues and the owner was so appreciative of us coming to him about the situation! read more
