What a surprise to find such wonderful & memorable food in this place. We stopped in for lunch on Sunday. The menu was limited, but what they did hit it out of the ballpark. I had a baked potato stuffed with corn, beef and cabbage. It was the leanest and most delicious corned beef I've had and the potato was huge- topped with some sour cream and cheese. it was an off the menu special because of St. Patrick's Day. My husband had the Poblano Chile stuffed with cauliflower and an enchilada sauce. He is not a vegetarian, but he thoroughly enjoyed it. There were sliced squash on the side. It was delicious, but one suggestion: can you offer half the ground beef as a second choice? It was too big and hard to eat. Most older people, who are a huge demographic in this county, would like smaller portions. When I make smash burgers at home, I use a total of 6 ounces of beef per burger. This is a hidden treasure in Amador County. We stopped here and absolutely loved it! I ordered the Golden Goddess which is a peach flavored champagne cocktail and it was soooo good. Then we had the sweet board and OMG, you have no idea what you're missing. It had lots of goodies (fruits, marshmallows, graham crackers, you name it!) and 3 amazing dipping sauces (chocolate, Carmel, and strawberry cheesecake, yum!). It was heaven! It's definitely a small place with limited parking but we absolutely had such a wonderful experience and were invited by a friendly atmosphere. This particular evening we ordered drinks and for dinner we had a barbecued chicken pizza and poblano green chili enchiladas with a side of rice. The proprietors, Chris and Rachel, made us feel at home, talked wine and food as we enjoyed a great bottle of wine and an amazing charcuterie board. I feel that we left as friends. As other reviewers have said, this place is a gem. I had one of the best salads(picture) I have ever had in Amador County with a very tasty glass of vermintino-perfect! My husband had wonderful hummus and freshly baked bread with a red blend that was very good. We then moved on to a charcuterie board that did not disappoint and continued trying the red blends-all good! Really looking forward to stopping in again. There was so much more we want to try.
