I stopped in for a beer, as their signage states bar and kitchen upstairs. There is a full arcade downstairs. One bar was closed, pointing patrons to the other "full bar". I went to the bar, it was empty, including the bartender. I went a few yards away to order a bite to eat, and the young man taking my order literally had his gold chain necklace IN HIS MOUTH. At one point he spit it out. So unprofessional and gross to boot. Back at the 'full bar' I finally tracked down a bartender, who said he'd be right back. I finally got a beer, and this guy just kept running off. Other patrons would come and go. As I write this, there is a man waiting for service at the bar. I love to write fabulous reviews, but I cannot for this place. read more

I've been going to tilt for about 4 years now and I travel from Tucson to Phoenix just to go to this arcade because we love the claw machines! So this year I came for my birthday, we spent $80 expecting to come home with some small plush or some small prizes but we literally came home completely empty handed. It was so disappointing and honestly ruined my birthday. Usually when we go we come out with at least 4 plush and a candy bar even if we spend $100+ but to us it's worth it because at least we won something. Management really needs to hire a technician to fix most of their games because at least 1/3 of the claw machines did not work (yes we played every single one on our visit 10/31) and every single claw machine with the exception of 1 was not strong enough to grab an item, and the machine that was strong enough (the ball ticket machine) was not even restocked because the employees had all the balls behind the counter so you couldn't even win. They completely weakened every single claw machine and it's not even worth trying because you will not win anything. our second favorite game was not even there (the jewel ticket machine) and our third favorite game (ticket roll pusher machine) had probably 20 total rolls in the bottom which made it impossible to play. Needless to say we will stay in Tucson and go to our local arcades because at least we win something and I will not be returning to Tilt until management has proven that they have fixed most of the machines or at least make them winnable again. You lost out on a customer that spends at least $250 a year in your store and with most malls dying out because of online shopping I would suggest a change needs to come rapidly because you will not save money weakening the machines, you would make more money making them stronger so that people will come back to play again. If you read this review please think twice about spending money at tilt if you want to go for the claw machines. Edit: after reading through other reviews you can clearly see there is a huge problem in their claw machines. 3 months ago Danielle (business manager) said she would have someone review the games to ensure they are working properly yet here I am 3 months later and none of them have been fixed. I will not return until there is a positive review about the claw machines. Edit after manager response: Of course Danielle the business manager had to reply in defense of their rigged machines. I highly doubt you give away several prizes a day because while I was there I saw absolutely nobody carrying a prize won from any claw machine, in fact I saw a lot of people with the same disappointment that I had that the machines were completely rigged or they would scan the card and the claw wouldn't even drop or move. I know how to play a claw machine, I travel between states just to visit their arcades and no other arcade other than this one has had all of their machines completely rigged. It's a game of skill when the machine actually has a chance of winning but when the claw won't even drop down all the way or move how is that a game of skill? . The only skill you would need is extreme patience dealing with all the run down machines. Disappointing that this is the only arcade with several claw machines in Phoenix. If anyone from Phoenix wants a good claw machine arcade come down to round 1 in Tucson! All of them are working, they actually have bartenders, the machines are always stocked, the food is good, everything is up to date and the employees are kind and work oriented on and they actually give away several prizes a day because people walk out with bags full. read more

5 stars for entertainment! We came for a birthday party last weekend and were Impressed by the whole set up we had to come back today and check it out again. There is a daily special going on that you need to check out before you go . Today was get a $30 player card for $20. This was a good deal, but for 3 kids it's not a cheap summer activity! Just bear that in mind when heading down there. The $30 card lasted each kid around an hour. I would love to come back to try some food or maybe book a birthday party . Well, I've been here all of two time. First was during the week not long ago when it was empty so we had a fun time with free reign of games. The second was just this past Saturday. After getting a bit overwhelmed by all the craziness of the kids running around we went to check out the bar. We expected to get just one drink but after a welcoming greeting from the bartender, Karissa the plans changed. She provided the best service I've probably ever had at a bar even making up for a very delayed and mediocre food order that took over 30 mins for food that I know for a fact would cook in 10 just dropping it in a fryer. Still we stayed because Karissa knew what we wanted to drink more than I even did. Now come to find out that the shining star of the night got fired because of what an employee did to her that night. I was more than ready to become a regular after her great service but there is clearly no point. Management here needs to reassess their priorities and ethics. read more

This is a very hip and fun gaming arcade! Very fun located inside the mill mall. They are pricey for the games though and my kid will go through his card very quickly. Response to Tilt: Implying my lack of skill, opposed to your rigged machines, as the culprit just got your 2 stars knocked to one. Also, standard claw machines have 3 arms... you have more pinch style games (like you pinch every penny from guests). On a fair game, folks like me would win easily & that's what you're trying to prevent. I get it... you have to cheat to come out ahead. You have altered machines to limit prizes won... bragging about "hundreds" of dollar store quality toys being won each week when you take in TENS of THOUSANDS of dollars speaks volumes about your integrity (or lack thereof) as a business. I am so so soo glad this place is here now! I have not been to game works since last year and I'm honestly glad this one took its place. I thought it was too dark and I'm glad they painted so you can actually see in here. Me and my mom came for lunch and to play some games and we're not disappointed! We both got giant delicious hot dogs and the best onion rings I've ever had. We were also able to watch some football while we ate so that was nice too. The bar area is cute and they serve four peaks beer which is a plus. I also really like all the retro games they have upstairs too ! I know the old location here started phasing out all their old stuff. I will probably end up coming back here with my boyfriend or possibly a birthday party :) read more

Initially we weren't having that much fun since almost half the games we tried to play were broken and would just take our points but we brought it to the attention of Sean one of the tech managers there and he was phenomenal. He let us play all the games that we said were broken and even gave us some stuffed animals that we tried to win out of the kindness of his heart. He truly is the epitome of what customer service should be like across the board at any organization. Sean is a fantastic human being and deserves a raise. The food is decent but very expensive. We got the loaded fries and the sour cream was just a large, hard glob that was difficult to eat. There was nothing light on the whole menu except for unappetizing salads. Slow, unreliable wifi. The service was slow and unfriendly, especially because the place was basically deserted. The bathroom was awful too. There was trash all over the floor, in all of the stalls. Many stalls had no toilet paper. It smelled disgusting and the toilets wouldn't flush. read more

Stopped in at about 8, so about 1hr before closing and I was a little disappointed to find out that their deal for 1hr Of play ends at 7 but regardless they still had a deal for $40 worth of tokens for $20 which was nice. Still I would have preferred to get the 1hr of play deal. However the real best part of this place is the sheer amount of games. Tons of pinball machines. Quite a few classics. (With a MK4 machine which I have never seen before) and some modern games. All the games were cleaned and worked properly aside from a few racing games that for some reason had no multiplayer. Kinda weird. However I think that the modern machines are kind of a waste of space as well as the entire ticket system. But to be honest I know there are people who will like that. However one thing that killed it for my parents were when they requested a drink they were refused because the bartender went home. Like for real. You guys don't have anyone else who can make a drink. I'm sure their drinks were going to be a little pricy but they were fully willing to pay and then they just decide to lose out on business. I mean ok. Whatever. Still this place is cool to come for about an hour to play some classics. And claw machines but most were pretty bs. My sister is a SERIOUSLY good claw machine player. As a regular visitor to Game Works which was previously in this location, we were quite sad when they closed down. After seeing a new place would take over we couldn't wait!! My husband and I came on a Thursday afternoon with our 3 kids. The place was DEAD! They had ok games but the air hockey which is our favorite was horrible. Pucks didn't slide and kept flying off the table. I was going to get my husband and I a beer but changed my mind once I got the price!! Holy moly!! $10 for a beer?!?! And a whopping $1 off for Happy Hour. Wow!! Beers aren't even that much in Scottsdale night clubs! Ridiculous!! They need to do some serious price adjustments or they'll be gone in no time. The Mills mall is near a low income area and definitely not going to attract many people willing to pay their prices!! We will take our business to Dave and Busters where prices are better on games and they have a "real" happy hour for their customers. Even outside happy hour, you won't pay $10 for a beer. Saw they were remodeling Gameworks back in April when we saw Jungle Book. I was stoked to see a place with pinball and beer, so when I finally made it back down to AZ Mills this week, hopes were high. And they were dashed. This place is a let down. They have some pinball, including the super fun Ghostbusters, but aside from half a dozen other cool machines, the rest are old and not very entertaining. The rest of the games are meh, too. Quite possibly the two worst air hockey tables on the planet. We could not keep the pucks on the table for the life of us on the crappy "wave" table nor the flat table. Rest of the games are mostly ticket producers, and a lot of them are carnival style, quite pricey per play, and require at least 2 people to play. Oh, and quite a few machines were non-functional or messed up somehow. Specials were good; $10 for a beer and $10 gamecard on a Tuesday is a great deal. Staff was pretty friendly, too. However, I just don't see any reason to make the trek down here again. Not worth it. read more

Arrived shortly after opening, some tables and machines were not cleaned from night before with leftover beer glasses and spills. Bathrooms look like they haven't been thoroughly cleaned for months, which I only discovered after eating. Gross. The "manager" told me not to worry since they have health inspections, but would not show me the reports or their ratings. Then she gave me the wrong number for the general manager after telling me he was on vacation and not to call him. Reply to Nancy: Wow Nancy, now I can see why some of your employees have such bad attitudes, it must trickle from the top down. First of all- I did not simply "imply" that your general manager was on vacation, your operations manager TOLD me that at least a few times before giving me a number that she told me was a "direct line" for the general manager. She does not represent your brand very well. Would consider giving her management classes before she sees another customer! Next, your "Operations Manager" said she hadn't been in the bathroom all day. Not sure who's checking them, but how would the brown stains and pubic hairs in the toilets appear between "every other hour." Also, the disgusting build-up on toilet pipe/handle and the baseboards? I arrived shortly after opening and there were still beer mugs on the tables with stale beer and stale beer spills from the night before. I stayed until well in to the afternoon and never once saw a cleaning crew. In past visits, the bathroom would have been closed down at least once during that time. Finally, If the general manager reads this-I would be happy to converse with you. This is my favorite place to come and play! The Pump It Up Machine is awesome, and it encourages me to bring friends and play other games and hang out. This weekend I had a blast with my best friend showing him where I play and checking out the other games because I know this place. I wish they would make the DDR machine just as awesome. The food is pretty good - especially the chicken tenders. They're like KFC chicken and HUGE, probably the best chicken "tenders" (more like full on chicken breasts). Good deal for your money if you do the $15 deal for the meal that comes with a $10 game card. The problem is, other than some old arcade games and pinball machines, most of the games are expensive ticket spitters. Additionally, there were a lot of kids there unsupervised. I get that there are obviously going to be kids and have no problem with that, but when a five year old runs up and hits buttons on the game I'm playing and messes it up, and I kindly ask him to stop because we're playing, and he doesn't, that's not okay. There was a kid who ran up and asked if he could play the game I'd just paid for, he didn't have any credits. I had probably 5 or so kids mess with my games or try to take over a game I was playing. I like bringing the kids here because they seem to have better deals like timed game cards and reasonably priced. The food is Ok. The reason for the three stars is that we like the Retro games better but most of them are broken. Like on the Street Fighter game one of the joysticks, the up function will not work or the forward function or some of the buttons simply won't work. We've been there several times and they remain the same. Maybe next time we will let the employees know. read more

We buy two unlimited cards go eat pizza at there facility, then the microphone says they close in 10 minutes (10pm). I inform Ricardo that there google page says they close at 11 and he was just rude. Instead of apologizing or saying they will fix it he acts likes its my fault and gives me a attitude and says how I should have went to there website for the correct hours. read more

Parents: you can use the unlimited game card on ticket machines (you just don't get tickets) so it's great for skee ball for the toddlers.

Went on a Sunday afternoon while visiting some buds in the area for the weekend. Wasn't super packed. Fair selection of games, though not a ton of the newest stuff that I could see, and not a huge selection of lightgun games, which I tend to go for. Lots of classics and pinball machines upstairs. Classic Skeeball is present. Some other types of games for the rest of the family that I don't generally try (Deal or no deal, spin the wheel type stuff). There's a restaurant, though I didn't check it out since I'd already eaten. A couple games were unusable and waiting for repair. It was my first time there so not sure how long games go for like that. I did have a need to play some of the claw/UFO Catcher games (ya gotta win the prize for the girl sometimes). One in particular I found I had a bit of luck with so I kept at it. After a couple of games, however, the claw started wigging out and basically stopped working. After three or four games I gave up and went to ask if they could just comp me the games. They had me go back and wait for someone that would verify the game wasn't working right and then coin me on another game. Fair enough, I supposed, though I was wary they were just going to say nope it's working tough luck guy. Turns out the technicians were not only able to verify the problem but also helped repair the claw game enough to get the last two or three toys to complete the set I had been trying for. Though they might get lots of people trying to con a few free games, they never once showed that that was what they expected. Great, solid customer service and far and away better than I expected. There are loads of eating and entertainment options in the world. The ones that set themselves apart are the ones with a friendly and welcoming staff when it comes to questions and problems. Basically--solid customer service. TiltStudio figured it out. I would recommend them if you want to spend a couple hours on a hot day playing some games. Just be sure to leave at least 30 minutes before the mall closes. Traffic getting out was slow going. read more
