I used to think that it seemed ridiculous to have two Starbucks cafes within walking distance from each other. However, after seeing such setups in Markham (Copper Creek) and Whitchurch-Stouffville, it makes perfect sense to me. Some folks want to perhaps shop and sip. Others want to simply hit the drive-thru and get on with their lives. It's all good. Naturally, being such a curious person, I had to give the drive-thru a go. The most notable feature of this cafe's drive-thru is how wide the lane is. It's super wide! I was impressed. I pulled up to the speaker and got a friendly, cheerful woman. I do like going to town cafes. Customer service is so much better. I asked whether she had any dark chocolate peanut butter cups. Sure enough, she did. She asked if one would be fine. Yes, please! I drove up to the window and she immediately handed over the peanut butter cups. I like that she trusts me! I pulled out my app on the phone to have her scan it. I referred to it as the barcode scanny thing, which made her smile. I have never said that before, so it made me laugh. I wished her a great day. She reciprocated. Originally, I had planned to get a beverage. I always feel bad using something like a parking spot at a business and not making a purchase. I appreciated safe parking steps away from Egg Club. I found that there was steady business at this store. It wasn't for Circle K (there was a mild heated argument between two customers and a male staff member during my entire visit), but for this Tim Hortons. I was intrigued and checked it out. The woman behind the counter was lovely. She said hi to me right off the bat, even though I could barely see what donuts were available. I asked if she has the limited Easter nest dream donut. She apologized that she had run out, but had vanilla donuts. I took a closer look at the selection. The apple fritter looked good. I had tried McDonald's apple fritter lil donut recently and it was horrible (there weren't any apple pieces that I could spot with the naked eye). Timmy's would not fail me! I got one. She carefully placed my fritter in a paper bag. I paid with my debit card. All was great. I thanked her. She thanked me back. How sweet! I wished her a great day and walked out with my fritter. I ate it while I made my casual drive eastbound. I love the apple fritter at Timmy's. You get real apple bits with cinnamon. Delightful! There is more sugar than I'd like, but I don't indulge in fritters often, so it's all good. Timmy's does have a drive-thru here. I'd normally take that option, but it was nice to walk into this store and order like a normal human being. I'm glad that I wandered in on a whim. I can see why folks come to Timmy's. On Saturday, I was heading northbound along Highway 7. I needed to use a washroom, as I had been out and about at this stage for three hours and my bladder needed attention. I saw this Tim Hortons on the right and said yes to stopping by. I found a parking spot steps away from the main entrance, which faces Highway 7. I used my umbrella as I walked over. The washrooms are straight ahead when you walk into the cafe. There are two single stalls. I took the first stall, which caters to any gender. The other one is similar, but is built for accessibility. The woman behind me used that one. The stall that I used was clean. No issues. My bladder was happy. I went to check out the baked goods. I saw that there was one lemon blueberry tart left in the display. I had to have it. I got a cheerful woman who fetched this tart for me. Got it! I am still new to how the Tims app works. I learned that I could have my Tims rewards QR code coupled with enabling a payment method. I now have it set to withdraw money from my Tims gift card whenever I have the Tims rewards QR code up. It's the little eureka moments that keep me content and current. The woman asked how I was going to pay. I said with my Tims gift card. I had the QR code scanned. It worked! I got points collected and I paid all at once. Yay! She fetched my tart and placed it in a paper bag. I thanked her and wished her a great day. She reciprocated. I looked at the merchandise before I headed back to my car. I liked the pink beverage flask with a cute bear dangling from it. Adorable! I had my lemon blueberry tart in my car. It was so good.
