Multimillion dollar company who could care less about anyone. They just transfer you from person to person hoping you give up. They caused the main damage on my driveway and would not fix it or cover the costs. JB's insurance agent, Robinson, said he never finds in favor of the client because it's never their fault. I did the typical google searches but found that most of the time, I was getting those that pay to pop up with their phone number from large roofing companies. With every one of those that I requested a quote, I got a computer automated response and quote most often delayed and with spam, and with little to no talking to anyone. Prices were all over the place as well as the descriptions of materials and service to be performed. I decided to search in a local Lakewood Facebook group where I found many suggestions and saw Harrold's name repeated often. I called Harrold one morning where he picked up the phone and had a friendly initial conversation. He told me he lived in my community and was literally around the corner. He provided addresses as referrals and within 2 hours, I had an estimate that was detailed and among the most competitive in pricing. I called Harold back to discuss the materials in detail which were all top of the line. He gave me the best and shortest window of availability and promised to have it complete in 3-4 days. We hired Harrold and had an excellent experience with Harold and his very hard working team. The were efficient, they were fast, did a great job and clean up all of the mess left behind! It felt good to give business to a local business instead of those larger roofing companies. Harold was professional, super friendly, prompt, communicated well, and did an incredible job with our complete tear and replace roof project. We even hired him to replace our facia and improve our porch. We love the new look of our home as it just looks like we remodeled everything but all we did was replace our roof. As of July 21, 2026, it is still not finished. This has been the worst experience we've had with a construction company. We chose Drycore based on their five-star reviews. Mike, the project manager, was patient and persistent, and showed us photos/videos of a similar job in Saratoga. We interviewed three companies, and while we were prepared to pay a premium for quality and reliability, Mike's consistent follow-up and confidence gave us the impression Drycore could deliver -- his price ended up being comparable to the others, so cost was never the deciding factor for us. During sales, he texted that the job would only take 1-2 weeks, saying the one-month contract timeline was just a precaution. That was the start of our nightmare. Almost nothing Mike promised held up. After demolition began, we were suddenly told certain customizations we'd specifically discussed couldn't be done, likely leaving us with excess tiles. One of Mike's supervisors then showed up demanding our second payment. When we raised concerns about the work, he shouted at us on our own property: "You can cancel the contract now" -- after our entire roof had already been torn off. From there, it only got worse: Work was slow and sloppy. Nails left on the ground daily damaged our car tires -- all four needed replacing. A neighbor filed a complaint with the state. Dirty handprints left on our newly painted walls. Crews were chronically late or no-shows (9am meant 1pm; noon meant 4pm or nothing). Wrong materials used on ridges, hips, valleys, and rakes -- painted bright red, making our home an eyesore. Tiles installed visibly crooked. Midway through, Mike was terminated -- the owner told us he'd been failing to follow through on multiple projects, which became our problem. The owner took over and agreed to redo the ridges, causing more demolition, delays, and waiting on tile orders. We learned he actually lives in Southern California, despite the company advertising as South Bay-based. He said he'd personally finish the job, but progress stayed inconsistent. At one point our roof was left exposed with debris covering both the roof and front of our home, followed by more delays from insufficient tile stock. Despite the incomplete work and damage to our property, the owner threatened to place a lien on our home over final payment. As of today: The roof is still unfinished Our home has sustained damage We've repeatedly rearranged work schedules for crews that don't show We were told they'd arrive at 8am today -- no one came This has dragged on over four months and caused real physical and emotional stress -- I needed medical treatment one night in April because of it. Since then, my husband has handled most of this alone. We now consider this project abandoned. Drycore never had the capability to properly complete a clay tile roof, despite their promises. We'll have to hire another company to fix the damage they caused. We reserve the right to pursue legal action.

The day after I started to look for roofing companies, and our neighbor who is a general contractor highly recommended All United Roofing Co. Inc. Couple of days after my neighbor arranged a meeting with Jorge who is the owner of the company. My first impression was very positive, because Jorge was punctual, knowledgeable, took time to respond to all my questions in detail, and provided several recommendations. Within a day, I received a detailed proposal from Betty. I requested few modifications and Betty very efficiently coordinated them with Jorge and updated the proposal. The total proposal seemed to be reasonable. I made several appointments with other roofers, but none of them were as punctual, professional and cordial as Jorge and mostly the prices were within the same range except couple, one being low and the other too high. While I was still evaluating the proposal (the contract was not signed) Jorge send two of his employees to cover the damaged areas of my roof with tarp since there was rain in the forecast. He never forced any brands of roofing material, instead provided his recommendation. He also asked me to do my own research and pick a brand that I believe would work for me the best. Betty coordinated the permits required with the city and arranged for all required inspections. The number of employees varied on daily basis; there were 8 employees the first day, 11 the second, and so on; however, they were all working in a perfect rhythm. All his employees were very cordial and professional. Throughout the day they kept around the house clean and removed all debris before they left. After the work was complete, I knew that I had dealt with an ethical contractor with a high integrity. I highly recommend All United Roofing Co. to anyone who needs a new roof or a repair.
