Water had leaked through and there were other issues with the install. Robert first came by to give an in person estimate. While he was here he answered all my questions honestly and confidence. He was able to pinpoint the reasons that my old deck had failed and gave me a detailed plan on his approach to the fix. They were able to complete the work quickly and the site was kept clean. Communication throughout the process was great. They used their 5 step lifedeck coating as well as a bonderized steel railing around my deck walls. I asked Monarch to redo my two decks. One had been worn about and was ready to start leaking on to the lower floor. Robert's team came and gave a fair estimate. They completed the job in two and half days and cleaned up after themselves. Overall they did a great job. I will make a small comment though. Although it doesn't change my review. They would say that they would be at the property at a certain time and often it was late by about an hour. Robert Senior and his entire team demolished and rebuilt our 25-year-old 3rd floor leaky enclosed deck this summer in Corona del Mar. They replaced several pieces of rotten plywood under the old deck coating which was the source of our leaks in the bedrooms and closets below. They replaced the flashing and 8" of stucco around the perimeter of our deck floor and repainted the walls surrounding the deck. They were knowledgeable, professional, reliable and honest. Your son Robert Junior came out to bid my deck 12/2021 he was clueless on how to fix it. He sent me an expensive bid that I asked some questions about . You canceled the bid and didn't even contact me or return a phone call. Robert Junior was unable to answer simple construction questions on building decks and applying waterproof coatings. People looking for a deck company I strongly suggest you call Prestige Deck Coating or Crank Waterproofing . I see you have edited and deleted all the name calling and ranting against me. You removed your insults and threats along with your agreement that your son was clueless. Robert your customer service has been extremely poor two times. We had a great experience with Monarch. They are a family business run by two generations of Robert. Our specific problem was a deck whose waterproofing had spring a leak during this year's rains. They quoted me for a replacement of the surface and a fixing of a soft spot in the underlying plywood. Their pricing was very reasonable. Once we had taken up the boards, we found some rot in the supporting 2x4, which had to be replaced, and was added to the quote. This was extra, but the quote was still reasonable. The new deck system we have is a big improvement on the previous one in terms of structure, and looks pleasing to the eye. The crew that came was efficient, and worked quickly to get it done on time. Robert senior supervised them closely, starting and finishing the job. They are conducting multiple jobs in a single day around the area, so their arrival times are fairly rough estimates, but I think this is how they keep their costs low. We also have their warranty coverage and will use them again to renew the deck covering when it is time. read more

They finished the job in about 3 days. I made a small request to fix some of the caulking that wasn't smooth around my support beams and Robert sent someone to fix it the next day. I would not recommend using Monarch for deck repair. New owners are not honoring the warranty on the work done on our deck by the previous owner Ryan. This is disappointing as I now have a deck that is leaking water into our house and it is within the warranty to time to be repaired but the new owners will not help me.
