Epic failure from vehicle service to actual service. Took it to them twice and they charged me out the yinyang and totally ineptly failed to fix the problem and refused to take responsibility for it. We only used this shop in desperation due to no other scheduling option and paid the ultimate price when finally the dealership told us about the incompetence and failure that led to the destruction of our van with only 75K miles on it. Saddest was the awful attitude we got when we made contact - total denial of their failure and rude, rude, rude.

First, the Skylark was only worth 12K upon purchase and I got duped at DTC into buying it for 20K. Rick and Sam had to not only get a "road ready" vehicle to run but it was inoperable upon arrival because I bought a vehicle with no brakes after 16 miles-- they blew up. Second, the vehicle nearly blew up twice with the exposed fuel line and overheating due to no fan. Third, Sam meticulously designed the entire electrical system and now "Dope Lemon" is worth what I paid for in the beginning after an untold loss but let's just say, 7K loss to make me feel better. On 6-18-26 I made an appointment to have my truck serviced on Saturday the 20th at 8 AM. I filled…read moreout the work requested sheet when I made the appointment asking them to replace the rotors front and rear, ceramic brake pads and flush the brake fluid system and it must be completed on the same day and they said no problem. When I dropped the truck off at 8 AM and reiterated that I wanted rotors replaced, new ceramic pads, flush the brake system and if they had time to change the shocks as well. At 11:30 Pep Boys calls and tells me that the repairs my truck needed were the same things I asked for in the first place plus wipers, air filter needed replacement and differential serviced. I told them the air filter was replaced last December and not to do it. I called them at 4:10 PM and asked if my truck was ready for pick up and lady said not yet, I asked her how much longer and she said she would ask the service technician. She told me about 45 minutes so I uber down to Pep Boys and my truck wasn't ready. I asked how much longer she said they would be done by closing. About 5:45 the desk lady tells me she has some not so good news. Turns out they were nowhere close to done and that one caliper was seized and had to be replaced and they couldn't get the caliper until the morning, but they wouldn't have a service technician to install it until Monday. By now it's a little after 6 PM and I have to call uber for a ride home. Meanwhile in the shop they start working on the differential. That made me see red. Not only didn't they do what I asked for first before they wasted hours which on top of a $3100.00 bill, I will also lose a day pay on Monday, but it also hurts my employer's faith in my dependability. I can honestly say that I would not recommend this Pep Boys for anything other than oil, wiper, tire and air filter changes. 6-21-26 I thought that I would be posting a give credit where credit is due write up but that's just not the reality of the situation. I will give them credit that they brought someone in to replace the seized caliper today so that I wouldn't miss a day of work and I will give them credit for that. Pep Boys called today when they had my truck finished and said it was ready for pick up. Upon arrival at Pep boys I gave my truck a quick look to check the work out. There was oil spilled all over the cowl in front of the radiator, the brake fluid reservoir was overfilled and obvious that the brake system wasn't flushed as requested. I went into the office and asked to see the itemized bill and I found I was billed for an oil change that I did not authorize because I had just had one 339 miles ago and wasn't due for another 2661 miles. The charge for the oil change was $290.84 plus tax. The brake fluid flush that wasn't done, I was charged 123.20 plus tax. $414.14 plus tax for work I did not authorize or that wasn't done. I requested ceramic brake pads front and rear, they installed ceramic on the front and semi-metallic on the rear. I told the day manager that I wouldn't pay for the oil change that I didn't authorize or the brake fluid flush which wasn't done. Ellis the day manager would not hear of it. So, I asked if I could talk to his supervisor, he calls his supervisor when he left the office and told me that it's all recorded, I explained to him that I had asked to talk to his supervisor and he told me to come back tomorrow if I wanted to talk to the supervisor. I said ok, let me hear the recording and he said I'll have to call the Sherrif and I said fine by me. The Sherrif's showed up in mass, three of them including the shift supervisor. Sherrif said pay the bill and leave so I did, I had to ask the Sherrif to get my key from the office, and he hands me a key bent enough that I couldn't insert it into the ignition. I had to straighten it out with the butt of a screwdriver on the asphalt. Yesterday, the lady managing the office did her best to placate me and she did manage to get someone to come in today to install the last caliper and put the tires on so I wouldn't miss a day of work. The mechanic working today was kind enough to clean up the spilled oil. Odd as it is, my bill went from $3100.00 yesterday to $2448.33 and today's final invoice was for 2149.98 and that's with the oil change I didn't ask for. Unfortunately, the office manager could not produce the work authorization form that I had signed last Thursday for the work that I was requesting. Odds are I'm going to have to take my truck to another shop to get my brake fluid system flushed and have them check to make sure new caliper slide pins were installed as I requested. Bottom line I would not recommend this Pep Boys to anyone for anything.

I have been a loyal Acura owner for over 10 years, having owned three Acuras while living in Pennsylvania, where I was always treated with respect and professionalism. Unfortunately, my experience at this Florida dealership has been the complete opposite. I recently visited this dealership for warranty repairs on my vehicle. I spoke with the service manager, Tom Ryan, in advance, explaining the issues (auto idle start and brake system error messages) and asked if I could bring my car in the same day. He assured me that I could, provided I was willing to leave it overnight. I confirmed this and specifically asked about the availability of a loaner vehicle, which he confirmed would be ready for me. Knowing I was driving over an hour and twenty minutes from Panama City, I trusted this arrangement. However, upon arriving, both Tom Ryan and the general manager informed me they would not provide a loaner vehicle. Their reasoning seemed to hinge on past interactions, during which I had expressed my dissatisfaction with how I was treated previously. I was told they "didn't feel comfortable" giving me a loaner because of where I live--a point that was never raised during our phone conversation. This could have been avoided had they contacted me before I made the long drive. Instead, my time was wasted once again. The general manager, in particular, was extremely hostile and unprofessional. Despite my calm demeanor and willingness to resolve the issue, he suggested I visit a dealership in Mobile, Alabama, rather than addressing my concerns. At one point, he even followed me outside, making provocative comments in what felt like an attempt to escalate the situation further, and trying to intimidate me. Check the cameras. This behavior is unacceptable, especially from a brand that prides itself on customer service. I was appalled by the lack of respect and professionalism shown. Interestingly, during my visit, I overheard another customer describe the dealership as a "complete sh*t show." Clearly, my experience is not an isolated one. As an Acura dealership, this location has a responsibility to serve its customers, particularly for warranty work, which, under the warranty agreement, I am entitled to have performed at any authorized dealership. Instead, this dealership seems to prioritize ego and hostility over customer satisfaction. I do not recommend this dealership to anyone. If Acura's corporate team reviews this, I hope they will address the unprofessional behavior and ensure a better standard of service. I moved to Destin over seven years ago from Texas where I spent over 20 years in the car business. I've bought my last four cars here and have referred numerous others. My family and friends tend to ask my advice when it comes to buying a car. My brother and I just leased a new TLX, I was in a three year lease and they rolled me out of it with no money down and my payment went up less than 20 bucks a month! The owner called me after a week to say the ticking was coming from the bottom of the car, not the top, and needed new cams/bearings for $3k or it could catastrophically fail. I agreed. The ticking is still there, and it's painfully obvious (they said they test drove it and it was fine). I called five times over the course of two weeks trying to speak to someone about it to find out whether I should bring it back in or not. The manager said I wasn't allowed to speak to a mechanic, but he'd have someone call. No one called. I've maintained this BMW myself since 2018, so I decided to run the diagnostic myself. It ended up being a completely different problem, so I'll be taking it elsewhere to get the repair done. It would have helped me tremendously to know if the cams/bearings were actually out of limits, but they didn't even bother documenting it on the bill. They got $3k out of me, but they lost a customer.
