Just wow. Close this place or get a manager. In short. A Sunday evening. Stopped in for a bit of food. And let's give the food the 3 stars it deserves. It was OK. Exactly what you would expect from any fast food place that turns over cooks as fast as it turns over burgers. But this is a restaurant. Yeah, it is a country-themed, big, and wooden hunting-style restaurant. With absolutely nothing Big, Hunted, or Country on the menu. There is no heart here. Just whatever you could pick up for quick reheating from Sysco or Costco. And service... well, the most service we received was when one person stopped by long enough to ask us if our server had been by to get our payment. When we told her no... she didn't take our payment... she just said, "it figures" and presumably told the kid waiting on us. After she finished what she was doing with her tables, of course. Moral of the story... just go somewhere else. It will be a long drive to get to the next place. But you will enjoy it more. read more

Stopped after visiting Cedar Cove Cat Sanctuary (highly recommend!) while visiting my parents. Restaurant is very large with a ton of tvs and a bar area. Menu was mostly classic midwest/southern fare (not my personal fav). We split the pretzels and queso appetizer - so good! My husband had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatos and broccoli. He enjoyed all of it, but found the roll very bland. It also came with a cup of the soup of the day or salad - soup was a white chicken chili which was surprisingly delicious! My dad had a hot beef sandwich, which he enjoyed. Mom had sliders and onion rings and brought some leftovers home. The onion rings were very tasty! Service was amazing, staff was very attentive. We had our 50 year class reunion June 20 (Louisburg 76) and the place was great. The 2 servers we had were very attentive and polite. The chicken finger dinner I had was excellent and there as a ton of it! The 2 young guys even helped carry out our boxes of decorations which was very much appreciated. Five of us voted yes!! We drove from Kansas City and would do it again!!! ( I failed in getting pics!!!) I personally ordered the appetizer chicken tenders (was recommended) and they checked all the boxes!! If I was being picky the gravy needed something. My friends had a French dip, chicken fried chicken, chicken fried steak and chicken fried pork chops. I had a bit of the pork chops and I would order that next time!! Me and my husband and I came here for lunch the other day. I had debated stopping by a few times while visiting Louisburg since I was judging this restaurant mostly on its rustic feel, and all the pickup trucks parked out front. It is definitely very country on the inside, but the main reason I am happy we came was that I anticipated a back deck where I could enjoy nature while eating lunch. That part wasn't a disappointment since the restaurant deck is every bit what I anticipated. This is the main reason I am giving it a four star. Without it, this place would have a two. Our waitress was nice and personable. The food was mediocre, and we would have to try something else on the menu next time. We both ordered the special, which was a Reuben. I believe the reason for the special was because the corned beef had a dated shelf life. Our Reuben corned beef was a bit on the dull colored side. The coleslaw that I ordered on the side was pretty good. My husband ordered the tatertots, which were unbelievably salty. We sent those back, and he had the fresh apple sauce instead. I typically don't comment on bathroom facilities, but the ladies' room was awful, sort of like that at some truck stop. read more

Me and my wife came down from Gladstone Mo. And stopped in here for lunch, Amy our waitress was nice and made us feel like a local. We got gizzards for appetizer and they were so soft and juicy, and not chewy like other places. Then my wife got the buffalo chicken wrap and I got the mushroom burger, both were very good, the place was nice and great scenery, I had read a few reviews and one said the bathrooms were not clean, they were not great but not horrible, and I am not going to dock stars for the bathroom, as I did not go there for the bathrooms, and most bars I go to the bathrooms are not great either. Over all we were very pleased with the dinning experience here, we also went out the back door and enjoyed the huge deck that wraps around the place. With woods and creek to look at. we would definitely try something else if we came back this way. read more

I happened to pick an AirBnB close by and thought we'd have a nice respite from our busy life and I was right! Great little town with lots of things to do. We saw how busy this place was so had to try it. We opted to sit outside and it was quiet and lovely - with no bugs!! The waitress was very friendly and we were able to order right away. I've been to Timber Creek several times. After dining out at far too many restaurants, I would say their food is average. Most of the waitresses are good. The booths are old and some uncomfortable. They need replacing badly. The women's bathroom is horrendous! From the floor, to the walls and the ceiling. Yuk Too bad they don't put some of their profit into better food and sprucing the place up a bit. I rarely go there now. read more

Food was very good and at a decent value. I had a steak that was cooked perfectly. Other orders at the table were fried shrimp and chicken fried chicken. Portions were pretty good. Good place for comfort food. Service was exceptional. We had a young man that did all you could expect to have a smooth and pleasant visit. Ambience is what you'd mostly expect In a bar and grill. My only suggestion is for the bar staff to pay better attention on what is on the TVs. It was a Saturday evening and only one tv was playing a basketball game. And it was in an obscure location. The others were on odd stations like funny videos or some such that was odd. We were there for family time so wanted to visit with each other so no big deal. just odd for a bar and grill. The good news, the TVs were all muted which is wonderful. The dining room was nice and clean. I did not visit the restrooms -- so can't comment on their cleanliness. we had 5 of us on Sat Apr, 19th - place was moderately busy, waitress was fine .. food was ok - nothing special. we had 4 pay w/cash 1 w/card.. waitress only brings back the bills and NO coins .. none of us saw a policy saying that they would keep all coins .. no one asked if we wanted them back.. just plain ole theft. would not recommend and most defiantly warn anyone away from here. read more

We had a party of 11 including 2 kids. Lindsey was our server and did a wonderful job -really was great with the kids! Unfortunately for our one vegetarian, the online menu ( and one of the menus at the table) showed a black bean burger, but then we were told it was no longer available. My wife, and I eat at Timber Creek once or twice a month, she normally orders the Salmon Salad or Taco Salad, and she says it's good, me I never know until I look at the menu but what ever I order it is good most of the time. The food is for sure the best in town, and is good about 85% of the time, and the service is normally good (depending on business). My only complaint is the noise but the way the restaurant is laid out with the bar in the middle, and the way the tables are situated you kind of expect that but a small price to pay for a decent meal. I assume My wife, and I will continue to eat there once or twice a month until the place burns down. I recommend this restaurant to anyone that's looking for a descent meal at a descent price. read more

Stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon (taco Tuesday) for lunch and a beer. Not busy at all. 2 people at the bar and I had to set at the bar for a few minutes before the bartender even acknowledged that I was there. Then I found out they don't even have tacos on the menu. Just moved to the area and discovered this hidden gem. Have visited multiple times over the last few weeks and have to say the wait staff and food have been excellent every time! Very impressed!! Special Note: My sister-in-law has Alpha-gal syndrome (a severe allergy to anything from a red meat animal including dairy) The wait staff and cooks were very attentive to her dietary needs and went out of their way to make sure she had a pleasant meal just like the rest of the family. The general manager was filling in for a cook that night and even made a point to visit the table and make sure everything was good. Will continue to come back to this place! We went to Timber Creek for lunch midweek. Felt comfortable with the table spacing and use of masks. They had a special for two dollars off their beef tenderloin sandwich and I ordered it. I have to say it was the most tender piece of beef I have ever eaten and the flavor was fabulous. It came with a horseradish sauce and was served with mushrooms. I had the onion rings which were crispy and delicious. My friend had the pork tenderloin which was about 1/2 inch thick and fries. He had no complaints. Our waiter was attentive and when I commented how good the sandwich was, he said the owners care about the quality of their beef. I saw that their roast beef sandwiches were made with shaved ribeye steak. I have to come back here! Try it! read more

Y'all...this was my first "in house" dining experience in a couple of months and it was fantastic! We ordered the loaded fries, fried mushrooms, and fried pickles as starters for our table. Side note, the ranch is honestly "drinkable".... I love me some good ranch! All dishes were delish (and I'm picky about my pickles/mushrooms). One of us had a chicken salad (looked amazing), another a French dip, a salmon dinner, and I had the tenderloin sandwich. Everything was so great and everyone left with a happy tummy. The service was amazing and they took special precaution with distancing tables. I craved a night out at a restaurant FINALLY....and they delivered. We had a family (funeral) dinner in their private event room. When I saw 1 server for 20 people I was a bit concerned about what level of service we were going to get. I should gotten the young lady's name so I could have given her a shout out - she did an incredible job at taking orders, communicating to the kitchen, delivering our food accurately and keeping up with our drinks. read more
