Albert Briseno is a genuinely nice and conscientious business owner, although he didn't always return texts or calls very quickly after his initial in-person bid. I attributed this to him being busy doing lots of jobs. His crew seemed well trained and efficient at tree removal, however they did damage a half-inch drip line when removing a volunteer tree. In hindsight, I should have flagged it for them. The 25% off discount that was given to me basically made Timberland competitive with my 3 other bids so my perception is that it won't matter whether you get the discount or not, you'll get a competitive bid either way. What I liked most about Timberland was their equipment all seems very new. Their chipper was brand new, as well as their large stump grinder. Important to know: one of the tree companies who gave me a bid could only chip branches and not larger trunks because their chipper was only 12". Timberland's chipper is 18" or more. They chipped my entire coastal redwood and, with their new machine, I got beautiful mulch! read more

I was most impressed with the work they did on our oak tree in the back yard. It was the most expensive part of the job, but three guys spent the better part of a day removing dead wood and shaping the tree. It looks awesome! The only hitch was on the second day of service the chipper was delayed due to mechanical problems. They had to come back on Saturday morning with the chipper to dispose of the trimmings. I had a great experience with this business. The office manager Rae was very helpful and efficient. Albert came out to look at my tree that blew over. It looked healthy so I wanted to try to save it. I am wondering if this business is actually real. After having a few conversations with their office me finally with Albert, Albert visited my house and assessed the situation. I was supposed to get na estimate that day. The next day. The day after. Almost 2 weeks and a half dozen phone calls later to the office and to Albert and nobody will return the call. Not sure I've been in a situation where a customer is actively trying to give you business and you do everything you can to not take it. But that's what happened. Too bad as he seemed knowledgeable regarding the trees condition relative to others who have looked at it. Timberland Tree Care did an AMAZING JOB! The beginning of February 2015 the rain came down hard in my area, causing 6 dead birch trees in my front yard, to break and crumble towards the top. The remaining branches on the trees were dangerously close to crumbling on to our neighbors roof and our cars in the driveway. Timberland came and removed a large pine tree that died over the winter. It was a two and a half day job. The crew worked methodically and carefully, bringing down each piece so it wouldn't hit the house or destroy the backyard. They cleaned up well after each day's work, putting every limb through the woodchipper before they left for the day. Even the trunk went through the chipper! 10/22/2018 Had this amazing crew at my house cutting back major Walnut Tree branches as well as several trees and Pyracantha over grown bushes. They did a good job and worked hard all day. Although their bid was a bit higher than my other bids it was thorough and detailed as to exactly what work was to be done. A bid from a competitor simply said cut trees per our conversation...that's not good. Both Albert and Ray were nice to deal with and the crew showed up on time and did so much work in just one day...impressive. They lead trimmer checked in with me several times during the process/day if he questioned anything in order for me to clarify. He also made suggestions on what would look good and at what height to cut bushes. Everything was cleaned up and hauled away by the end of the day. We were long (long!) overdue to trim trees around the perimeter of our yard and they had grown quite tall, quite full, and quite beyond our capability to maintain them. After getting three estimates, we chose Timberland because Albert clearly knew what he was doing and what we should do. It turned out to be a great choice. The crew arrived promptly this morning and the first thing they did was take down the market lights that I had overlooked but were sure to be thrashed by falling limbs. Then they climbed, cut, dragged, and shredded for the bulk of the day, checking with us periodically to ensure we were satisfied with where they had cut certain trees and taking direction easily when we opted for more trimming. Timberland removed a large Eucalyptus tree from my yard had roots there were beginning to impact our house and neighbors yard. Ray and Albert took great care of us. I'm delighted that I had them do the work They exceeded my expectations and at a significant savings. Albert the owner assured me that his Company could complete the work safely and to my satisfaction. I must admit that I was hesitant as this was a beautiful 90 year old cedar tree. A crown reduction was completed and the Tree thinned and shaped so that it would survive wind storms as well as look symmetrical. It was a two day job, but they took down the taller portions and the most dangerous limbs first. They then came back the next day to remove the remainder of the tree and to clean up all debris. Not only did they butcher what had been lovely Sycamores, but they did it at the worst possible time, right at the start of the rainy season, subjecting them to pests & disease spores. Timberland's claim of "licenced" "experienced" arborists is a farce. They're happy to take my 80-yr-old landlord's money to subject his trees to disease without even following his instructions (trimming off a couple dead limbs). The workers had no idea what my landlord's request was and hacked off healthy limbs till the trees looked like beanstalks. When I wouldn't let the workers damage a third tree, Timberland's owner, Albert Briseno, said he would charge my landlord anyway, an absurdly high price. When I called Albert to complain, he was "too busy" and hasn't bothered to call me back. This is their "100% satisfaction" guarantee? Buyer beware. read more

Got several estimates on a HUGH tree I thought was dead, but Albert said it just need some pruning of dead branches and removal of an elm growing up through the sycamore branches and he agreed to move the fire wood stored in the yard by previous owners and made mulch of everything! I recently had a very large oak tree start dropping large branches on my house over Labor Day. Timberland was the first to call back. Was extremely helpful over the phone and got Albert out first thing tues after Labor Day. He assessed the situation delivered a quote on the spot which was very reasonable. Called office and the scheduled us first thing the next morning between 8&9am to remove the branches that where an immediate threat. They where also going to call back that evening and let us know if they would add on the rest of the work we had added to maintain the other oak trees on the property. Then came the first issue. No call back that evening on status of remaining work. Roll into next morning, as I shrugged off the added work as my immediate issue was the broken branches that had not yet fallen. However 8 rolled into 9 and no show no call. I called at 9:10 no answer so left message. Tried again at 9:30 and again at 9:45.no answer, no return call, no show. should have really paid attention to the reviews that where changed as the first complaints seemed to be no shows. The 4 1/2 stars are a bit misleading I am updating my review and changing to four Star review. The company has heart and does their best to get it right. If not they strive to make it right. Just be a bit patient with them and you will come out with a good job, at a good price, with a company that strives for satisfied customers. read more
