Such a disappointment Purchase Green ended up being. I hate writing this because I trusted their words of reassurance & apparent willingness to make things right. What happened? We built a new home in Santa Rosa & were moving in during the winter months, with dogs. We needed landscaping because it was muddy. We met with 4 companies to do our synthetic grass & other landscaping. We liked Purchase Green & in particular, the person they sent, Diego. He was communicative, warm, & discussed a product package in a timely manner that was more appealing than the others. During the process, we also met with a regional manager named Kyra, very friendly. Both Diego & Kyra assured us they would meet our needs & correct anything that went wrong. We hired them largely because we did feel they had our best interest at heart. The installation of the grass was good & the paver work was too & sadly, that's where the good ended. Diego has a habit of bringing on "friends" as subcontractors & unfortunately, left them unsupervised. The landscapers that handled the planting of our numerous fruit trees & other plants were abysmal & left us with poorly planted trees and plants that died or nearly died, inadequate irrigation & apparently did nothing to the surrounding soil (red clay) which left the roots unable to take hold. Tens of thousands of dollars wasted. I complained to Kyra & Diego, & we learned, "talk is cheap." They said all the right things but then didn't deliver. In fact, when I texted Kyra on the final day of a return visit by the horrible landscapers, I received zero response from her. Diego made excuses for everything. First, we were told that we didn't need window protection for sun glare on the grass; later we were told we did or they couldn't warranty the work. That ran us more money than was unanticipated. Then the fencing built around our pool equipment did not provide access for service people despite stating access was essential (they did actually fix this problem). Then, one of the doors Diego built stays open on the lower part which he tried to argue is because the wood needs to be stained. There is simply no room in this review to include all the aspects of failure & ensuing excuses here. On another very annoying note, every time they were here, there was damage to the house from their equipment coupled with subpar fixes-- this has cost us money repairing said damage. Also, they made a mess with handling the white sides of the house with muddy hands & more than once, we spent hours trying to clean it to no avail. We are going to have to pay for someone to paint the sides of the house now. Also, I made the mistake of allowing them to use the brand new outdoor bathroom-- never again! They left it filthy & beyond what can be cleaned; again, we will have to hire people to repaint it, inside & out. On the landscaper's final trip here, which was contentious, they took it upon themselves, without our permission, to use the outdoor bathroom which we had already repaired from their last visit. It is a mess again! They left the property leaving gates open, the bathroom a mess and door wide open, & an inadequate job with the plant correction. They put in asparagus plants to replace the dead lavender but left one of the lavender plants in the middle! I trusted P-G so much that it feels actually hurtful to know they didn't take the care I entrusted them with. I fed them lunches & provided them with access to constant snacks & drinks (literally, access to a garage refrigerator full of beverages. It would have been nice if they took as good a care with us & our property as we did of their needs. Writing this review was a hard decision, but I feel it's important that people know when choosing a company. We are now paying another landscaper to fix everything they failed to do from the plants, irrigation, lights, soil, & structures built, as well as all the clean-up, repair and painting. Diego didn't supervise his various subs, & they blew out of here to their next job without fully completing & ensuring things were done right. Then excuses were provided at every follow-up point. Sadly, I would not recommend this company, & I am ultimately very sorry I hired them. Talk is indeed cheap-- I was reassured time & again by both Diego & Kyra that everything would be corrected. That turned out to not be the case. I am down way too much money & now having to pay others to make everything right. Sad & disappointing for us. read more

Some jobs are budget jobs and they have turf for that but more of our jobs are for a more affluent clientele and their turf is a really high quality and we know that our clients want it to last so turf like Natural Fusion 80 (Best color) and Bluegrass Supreme (Most fancy) can usually wow our customers. Would give ZERO stars if I could. Now I understand why they were the cheapest estimate. Horrible install, and 60 days later, they still have not fixed it. All I get from the store manager is how busy they are! Umm, hey pal, I just paid you $20k to do my effing landscaping, and your guys did a half-a$$ job. I am not asking for a favor, I am asking to get what I paid for. During the install, the workers trashed my property- it took me TWO contractor-size bags to go around and pick up all the mess- energy drink cans, fast food wrappers, and especially touching, the krispy kreme box the day I bought them donuts. I also found bags of chips *hidden* in trees. Like seriously, WTF, in.the.trees. My pool was just remodeled, so I asked them to tarp it. Well, they used bricks to hold the tarp, and as one might expect, the pump pulled the tarp down and in went the bricks. Thankfully no damage was done, but my pool required extensive cleaning. On completion, the project looked fine. Then a few weeks passed, and the bender boards started separating. I noticed bumps in the turf, which turns out to be the base rock settling, but not grabbing the nails, holding down the turf. Two of the seams are quite obvious. The project, much like the company itself, looks great from a distance, but as you look closer, it is a wreck. I gave them a chance to fix the issues before writing this. I notified my sales rep on June 27 that there were issues with the installation. It has come to this, due to their lack of customer service and shoddy installers. Do.not.recommend. read more

But here's why I'd love to give them another 5 stars: We had a water leak under the grass. Our landscaper thought it may have been from one of the stakes when the grass was installed that could have become dislodged. I can't believe all the positive reviews on here! I must have dealt with another Purchase Green from Concord (sarcasm). First of all, Aaron Sighn, one of the owners, blew off our appointment and responded only after I called and complained. We eventually made a deal and scheduled an install date. The work crew did not show up on the scheduled date. They were late for the next appointment and only dropped off materials although they were supposed to complete the install that day. As a result, I paid for 2 days of unnecessary boarding for my dog and had to juggle my schedule. The install crew looked like a clown circus the day of install. Initially they brought two pieces of Astroturf, neither of which were correct style or size. They made several delaying trips back to the Concord store for supplies and more artificial grass. The third piece of Astroturf was cut 5 feet too short and they again had to return to Concord for more product. After the install, I learned that a new employee was being trained on my job. I watched as he mangled the entire end of the Astroturf that resulted in a too short and ragged edge. I left several email, telephone and voice messages for Aaron but he has not responded once. Just had Steve's crew from Purchase Green, Concord and Petaluma, install Fescue Supreme in my front yard. I am very happy with the results. They excavated down four plus inches, removing many tree roots, installed weedblock and gopher barrier, then base which they compacted with water to get it very firm. The entire process took three days. Out of all the estimates I received, Purchase Green was the most competitive. They also have a three year warranty on labor, an added plus! Overall a fairly responsive staff. However, be wary of the estimators and double check their quantities when they give you a quote. I asked for a quote an artificial turf installation for our front yard (very easy geometry, mostly rectangular) so it wouldn't require much cutting at all. The area I measured out was approximately 310 SF, while the estimator quoted over 600 SF for the project area. I called him to try and work out the difference but he insisted his number was good. I asked for a markup of his calculations and the math did not check out. I work in a similar industry and know how important these measurements are. Just flat out doubling the cost of the project is unacceptable. Overall, the pricing per sf is a bit higher than some of the competition. I would lean elsewhere or at least get a second opinion before choosing to work with purchasegreen. read more

We purchased our artificial turf (Playscape Pro) for our babies' play structure from Janine Rivera. She was very kind and helpful. She even gave us a military discount - we spent almost $4,000 total, including playscape pro turf, XPE shock pad, cut and tubing, Herofill, zeodorizer infill for 786sf. All was great until.... Within two months, the lawn started changing colors and falling apart, and Janine disappeared. I called and they said they hired new employees, including management. We were referred to a supervisor named "Rob." Read the rest of the review below - bottom line is Purchase Green has the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER and their product sucks. Do not purchase your artificial grass from here. Their employees change all the time and no one wants to help you when you have a problem with your order - we had to talk to many people with no response. There is discoloring in our artificial turf within two months of purchasing, and Rob continued to argue with me over the phone that it's not a "manufacturer's problem," so therefore, he cannot help me. If the lawn is changing colors within two months of purchase, then it's definitely a "manufacturer's problem." We called and requested someone to come out to take a look in 4/3/2021, so they sent a man who's the "new supervisor", Rob. On 9/2/2021 (YES, FIVE MONTHS LATER!!!), Rob came out and touched the lawn with his fingers and hands. He then proceeded to say that "the coloring was weird, but it's "dust."" He kept running his hands through and saying it was "dust." Telling me to watch closely as the white ash lifts up into the air (during the fires in CA). Why would there be ash or dust only on one side of the lawn?! So, we power-washed it, and the "dust" never came off - the artificial turf was still discolored and lighter than the rest of the lawn. He agreed that this was strange. Then, Rob continued to say that the discoloration is because "the blades of the grass need to be raked." Okay, so my husband raked it, and you guessed it - the color was still light and discolored, and not the same as the rest of the lawn. Rob was doing everything in his power to say that it wasn't a manufacturer's problem and basically, there's nothing he can do even though we purchased it two months ago. He was also speaking condescendingly as if I knew nothing about turf and he's the expert, so everything I was saying was wrong. This company and this man is a joke. Rob said he'll call me back after discussing with "other people" who work at Purchase Green - that was on 9/2/2021 after his visit. I didn't hear back from Rob, so I followed up on 10/1/2021. NO RESPONSE since Rob's visit *CRICKETS* - I've followed up via text, email, and calls. I am a mom of two babies, and we are a military family, and I have never been treated like this in my life by any person or company. After spending $4,000, you'd think the company will help with your purchase since it's only been two months. I do not recommend Purchase Green to any of my friends or family because this company does not practice good business ethic and they're practically thieves. Note how many good reviews are about love for the product, and not about love for the service. Then think about how many different places sell a similar product, which means service is far more important in this world :-). So many things went wrong here, it was almost unbelievable. After getting some samples, we got an email saying that prices were about to go up, so we should order now. By the time I got a hold of them, the prices had gone up and I had to negotiate back down to the price I was originally quoted. Fine. They have a minimum charge of $3200 to install grass regardless of size, and this is the only way to get the warranty. Less fine. But hey, they have DIY videos that are well laid out enough for a contractor to follow along. Cool! So I hired a local subcontractor for literally half the price. Great. Grass should be delivered on Friday. 5 guys arrive on Saturday to do the install. There's no grass. Where's the grass? No one knows. So I call. I get a hold of my account manager and find out "someone was supposed to call" me to tell me that their forklift broke on Friday. No one had. No apologies given. I ask if they can get me the grass right now, and the answer is no. I say thank you, they say "you're welcome." For what? The guys prep the space for grass and promise to return when the grass arrives. I get it Tuesday. I'm at work when I get the call: "It's a foot too narrow." What? I race home. Indeed, the grass was 15x6.5 instead of 15x7.5. Sigh. Call again. Again no apology. Again I have to suggest options for resolution instead of being offered any proactively by the team. I tell them they should install the extra foot themselves, because I'd have to hire my team for a THIRD time just to make up for their mistake. I get pushback and told that they'll get back to me. They don't get back to me. I call again, on Thursday. "Didn't our installation team leader call you?" No. "They should have." Ok... Another two days go by without word. I call on Saturday and ask to talk to a supervisor, JT. He hears my concerns and promises to get back to me within an hour. He does. I'm told that they can't offer to install the extra foot of grass because they gave me a deep discount on the original price itself. Huh? They apparently think they deeply undercharged me for the grass in the first place, despite the fact that I had requested my originally quoted price (written down on the back of a sample of grass they had given me). They basically decided that a $90 'discount' on the grass made up for the hundreds I'll have to pay my team to do a professional install of the new 1 foot. In fact, they had the gall to charge me (with, granted, a 50% discount) for the seaming tape and glue that was now necessary to join the 'old' grass with the 'new'. I bet they had an internal discussion about how I could have simply not installed the narrower grass and returned it for a full replacement for free--sure...but then I'd have to have rescheduled $1600+ worth of work for the 5 guys who eschewed other work that day to show up at my house. I wouldn't do that to them (or anyone). So now I have a 15'x1' piece of artificial grass, a bunch of glue and tape, and some more DIY videos. Cool. I'll just install this in my spare time so that I don't have to hire anyone and spend even more money to fix Purchase Green's mistake. Except I don't have time to do it myself, because this is all so, sooo much more time and energy than I had already intended to invest. But I guess Purchase Green doesn't see this as their problem. read more

Very professtional company. We had several estimators come out to check the grass we wanted to replace with artifical grass. Purchase Green was the only one that brought out samples of different grasses that they thought fit what we were looking for. This is a big plus because you can see what grass will look like in different areas of your yard where the light is not always the same. I could feel and smell it, check out the backing to see how it is made. He was able to answer all our questions. We wanted artificial grass that is good for small children and for dogs. We also had questions about drainage, if there would be mildew, how the seams would be placed, and how long we could expect the artificial truff to last. The estimator was able to answer all of these questions on site and was able to provide us with a ball park estimate that same day. Within two days after the estimator's visit we received a written estimate and contract via e mail and there were no surprises. I was able to speak with the contract person the very next day and set up install dates that would work for us. I was told our job would take take 3 days. The installers were there on the day we set up and the job was completed within the 3 days we were originally quoted. The installers were also courteous and professtional. My questions that I asked by phone or with email were always answered the same day or returned the very next day. Purchase Green really knows there products. I hightly recommend them. read more

They continue to be less than responsive when I've had to contact them about the various issues that have come up. The main issues have have been seams pulling apart, and the turf pulling away from the bender board. I even had bender boards separating within weeks of the install. Harry and the crew were absolutely great to work with! Harry is very responsive and easy to get a hold of. He brought various examples of turf, and explained what the different types were better for. We were able to get on the install schedule rather quickly. Harry showed up w/his crew of 4, got them started then headed out. I think it took them about 7 hours to complete the job. Harry texted me after some time to check-in and see how things were going. The crew was also very pleasant. They did a great job, and left my backyard really neat/clean. I had given them each glasses of water. I left before they were done, but when I got back home, they had piled the glasses by my door, rather than leaving them all over the place like other contractors I've dealt with in the past.
