Absolutely furious with my experience at 21st Century Auto…read more On December 24, 2025, I purchased what I believed was a reliable truck from this dealership. Exactly one month later, on January 24, 2026, the engine completely blew up. After owning the truck for only 30 days, I was staring at a repair bill that would eventually exceed $13,000. Because the truck had 126,000 miles, they did not qualify my purchase for their 30 day 50/50 warranty, had this been the case this would not have been posted. Never mind that the vehicle suffered a catastrophic engine failure almost immediately after purchase. Never mind that I had barely put any miles on it. Never mind that I was a repeat customer who had trusted them enough to buy from them again. Initially, they dangled the possibility of helping with about $1,500 toward an engine warranty, but only if they performed the work and could find an engine. They couldn't even accomplish that. Months passed while a larger Ford dealership finally located an engine and completed the repair. Throughout the entire ordeal, 21st Century provided little more than excuses and empty promises. Five months of ownership. Only 1,200 miles driven. Think about that for a moment. I spent thousands of dollars on a truck that spent more time sitting broken than being driven. Then I had to spend over $13,000 of my own money fixing a vehicle I had barely owned. Meanwhile, the dealership that sold it to me refused to stand behind the vehicle in any meaningful way. To add to this garbage, days before the truck blew up their techs resealed my oil pan, or so i thought, it was leaking within days of getting the truck back and was only overshadowed by the fact i needed a new engine. The financial damage has been enormous, but honestly, the stress and frustration have been even worse. This entire experience has been a nightmare for me and my family. The most disappointing part is realizing that customer loyalty means absolutely nothing to this dealership once the sale is complete. A reputable dealership does not have to be legally obligated to help in order to do the right thing. 21st Century Auto had every opportunity to show integrity, goodwill, and concern for a repeat customer. Instead, they chose to do the bare minimum and leave me holding the bag. If you're considering buying a vehicle from 21st Century Auto, learn from my mistake. When everything is going well, they may be happy to take your money. When things go horribly wrong shortly after the sale, don't expect them to stand behind you. I will never purchase another vehicle from this dealership and will never recommend them to anyone.

Variable Pricing is the new way to describe Bait & Switch. New name, same old con…read more Used car dealers and salesmen have a reputation, and it's for a good reason. Overland West Car sales (DBA Hertz Car Sales), salesman Eric, and manager Cody, fit the reputation to a T. They demonstrate an alarming lack of integrity. Further, they are now armed with the modern iteration of the good old Bait & Switch. Today they call it Variable Pricing, a situation wherein prices can go up or down (UP, who are we kidding) on a minute by minute basis based on demand. Guess what, if you show interest in a car, the car is in demand. From Overland West I received 4 progressively higher prices, in writing, over a 36 hour period. The biggest price escalation came after I informed them I had sold my existing vehicle. If any dealership or salesman demonstrates this much dishonesty, you need to question and verify anything they have said concerning the condition of the vehicle, the deal, financing, and every other aspect of the transaction. Salesman Eric seems to follow the 33% rule. Talk about your own experience, integrity, and honesty 33% of the time. Talk about the incredible integrity and business honor of the dealership 33% of the time. And finally, talk about the car, the very best example of a nearly perfect used car 33% of the time. If the customer balks at any point, give them the old..."You want to talk to my manager?" They can also read a customer. Type of car = luxury, the mark has disposable income - so jack up the price. Payment type = cash or cash & trade, the mark can afford more, so jack up the price. Already sold their vehicle = the mark really needs to make a deal, jack the price yet again. Fortunately, I was not desperate to purchase, and I was willing and able to walk away from the Overland West BS. It turns out I looked a little harder, and a little further, and got a factory certified vehicle with 3 year Bumper to Bumper warranty for just a few hundred more than the final price I was quoted. My recommendation...verify everything, and if you smell a rat - walk away. You want to be the one who got away.

I considered buying from hertz because terry Bolinder works there. I've bought vehicles from him in…read morethe past when he owned cuzs cars. From the start I just had a weird feeling about hertz. With in days of first visiting the lot the manager emailed me, which was entirely irritating and unnecessary. As my time with my rental car was running out I decided to go back to hertz to see if they had anything that I was interested in. All the cars I had seen online had been sold the day before or were in another state. Terry and I decided to run my credit to see what I would be able to afford before bringing a car in from out of state. We were looking at a $19,000 car. Terry came back and told me I would need 15,000 down according to the one credit Union that accepted my application. Something was clearly wrong and an hour later I was at Kia buying a brand new 2023 soul with $4000 down at a $300 monthly payment. I really do like terry as a person, and I wished he worked anywhere but here. I called him after Kia approved me, and he agreed something was wrong for them to need 75% down on a car and said he would investigate it. I haven't heard from him again but I don't entirely expect to, but don't trust their finance options and shop around and try getting financed elsewhere before coming here. I wish I didn't waste a ding on my credit score to figure out something was wrong. That being said even when telling me what financing said, terry was honest and did not try to pressure me to come up with money or to accept the finance offer. I wish this company held the same moral standing he does.
