I wish I could rate with negative 5 stars. When I called to make a reservation I had stated that I would not be arriving until about midnight when we booked a cabin. We were leaving after one childs work and then picking the other up at a local college to spend the weekend at Timberline. They asked how many adults, how many children, and any pets. I thought it strange that pets were allowed in the cabins but I was thankful after I confirmed with the woman on the phone that I did not have to make other arrangements. I made the reservation and received the confirmation email. In the confirmation email it stated, "new policy no pets in cabins." I immediately called back to confirm. When she checked she stated no pets in cabins. Can you imagine if I drove three hours with the dog to be told that I couldn't have pets in the cabin? See attached where it shows she selected two adults, two children, and one pet. They don't know their own policy. When we arrived at midnight we found our cabin locked with a padlock. We went to the office to find a note containing a phone number. Okay, we dailed the phone number and the call could not be completed as dailed. Fortunately we found an employee wandering with friends in a golf cart and she was able to open the office and secure the key. Now with the way this cabin locks is with a padlock from the outside. Anyone can lock you in! The lock on the inside is a slide latch that did not mate up. See attached pictures. In the morning we set up our cooking grate over the campfire area. I call it that specifically because it's just a clearing in the grass. It's not a fire pit or a fire ring. While cooking in the morning and early afternoon the amount of golf carts being driven blasting music by people drinking is astonishing. Also, the amount of golf carts being driven by children as young as we would estimate 8 to 10 year olds unaccompanied by adults is equally significant. I wonder if their insurance company is aware. We left for the day to visit local attractions and go into Peoria. We came back about 9 pm to find that the local drunks on golf carts had run over our fire pit and our heavy duty campfire cooking grate. One of the legs was bent and the grate was bent inward. The firepit was 14 feet in from the road on our site! It took my over an hour to straighten the metal frame, fix the leg, and reweld the grate etc after we arrived back home to repair the grate. The band was across from us and was pretty loud, okay, we didn't know a band was playing across from us when we booked the site. There were golf carts everywhere as they like to have a "parade." Great, drunks on carts. The band did stop at 10 pm which is quiet time however someone was setting off fireworks until a quarter to eleven. We couldn't have an enjoyable campfire. As it was we stayed holed up in the cabin and we could hear the band clearly. The next morning I had gone to the office to complain about someone driving through our site mauling our cooking grate. The attitude was one of what could we do. Um, limit drunks on golf carts! Sunday morning, we hurriedly made breakfast, squared away the cabin, made sure everything had been swept, clean and tidy, and my wife and I made it a point to go to the office to inspect the cabin and sign off on the cabin to make certain we received our deposit back. We wanted an employee to sign off and give us a copy in writing that the cabin was fine. The office worker didn't know how to open the cabin door! It is a rope with a dowel that you pull down on and the 2x4 latch lifts out of the pocket. She got snippy at us asking for the inspection and my wife shot back that our property was damaged and we have read prior reviews where they have kept the deposit without merit. The jumping pillow they say they have is nonexistent, the basketball hoop is downward at a substantial angle, the mini golf course is run down (there was a full garbage can with flies all weekend), the shores of the pond are filthy, the bathrooms are disgusting both men and women. In the womens there was a hairball the size of a rat my wife said all weekend, there's mold everywhere, in the mens there was a dookie in the toilet for at least a day. The latches are nonexistent in the mens room. The playground is run down. They cleared a gulley and put all the cut overgrowth piled up. This is by far the worst Campground I've ever stayed at in 51 years and my wifes camping with me for 23 years. Avoid this place like the plague! read more

This campground has become very rundown. The website photos do not match the actual place. The office/ gift shop is nearly empty and the staff is not friendly or helpful. The ice machine has mold growing on it. The playground equipment basket ball court and large jump pad are broken. Our picnic table broke and two people from our group fell off. When you first check in there is no itinerary given about the weekend events and you just have to find out from other campers. The pond is full of algae and there's no kayaks or boats to rent or use as shown on the website. The bathrooms have not been cleaned in a long time and not been updated. So if you're boondocking good luck. The golf cart we rented the back seat tilted down and due to the potholes throwe almost fell off a couple times. I think the owners have become complacent and really do not put much effort into maintaining their campground. I will definitely not be going back. read more

Been a few years since I've been here but it's gone down hill. Public bathrooms are gross and not clean. Miniature golf has more weeds than anything else. No activities for kids. Won't be coming back anytime soon. read more

*****This is now my third attempt to reach a manager. I also called to speak to a manager on Tuesday. When I gave my name, I was told, they would not be forwarding my information to their manager, and they hung up on me. When I attempted to call back a second time and asked why I was hung up on, the woman stated that she was going to hang up again, and then did. I have waited a day and a half for the promised phone call I was supposed to receive from management after checking out yesterday, however, I have not heard a word from anyone. When we arrived at the campground on Friday 6/7, we immediately noticed that the toilet in our cabin was not working properly. I personally went over and told management, who then sent over the cleaning lady to check this. The cleaning lady told us that she would try to contact someone to fix it and to just take the back of the toilet off to flush it manually until then. A couple hours passed, still no one came to fix the issue. I walked back over to the office and notified them again. They said they were calling maintenance and would send someone. Still, no one came to fix the issue. The handle was loose and at this point had now fallen completely off and we were still having to lift the back off to manually flush. Saturday morning, I reported this issue a third time and again was told they would send someone to fix it. We had my son's birthday party that afternoon and needed this fixed beforehand. We reported the issue three more times on Saturday. Again, no one came to fix this issue. By Sunday morning the toilet was leaking all over the floor, and we had to turn the water off. Again, we reported this issue. No one came. Upon check out, I was told by the man running the office that morning that the toilet was just fine until we came along, and that he had notes from his manager and the owner, both of which said it was our fault the toilet did not work. He then threatened to call security on me when I asked to speak directly with the manager or owner. I am not sure exactly what kind of establishment you guys are trying to run here, but what I do know, is that this situation in its entirety, was completely unacceptable. I would like someone to call me regarding this immediately. I also would not only like my deposit back, which you guys kept, but also, a partial refund for the issues we had during our stay, the lack of support from your staff, and the way we were treated and blamed for an issue that we had nothing to do with. I have pictures from the time we walked into the unit, and also before we left the unit. I also kept documentation of each time we reported these issues and the response we got and by whom. There were also multiple witnesses to all of this, as we had family with us the entire time. I will not be letting this go. I am also including the Village of Goodfield, and the Sheriff's office, in this email as well, in case we need to take this further. read more

I have stayed here back in 2019 and it was okay. It was loud and a huge party made it tough because of having to go to work but I t was tolerable. I'm here again and have been since the 23rd of October 2021... I was gone back home and had been traveling for training and teaching while my project is slow. I was gone an extended time and had forgotten to pay my bill. I have made this mistake in the past at other places I have stayed. They have called me and I promptly play the bill with no problems. Here they didn't call or anything. It's the middle of winter and they shut off electricity and removed my sewer hose. Sewer hose wasn't a big deal. Electricity getting shut off caused my heaters that are digital to shut off and not come back on when they turned the electric back on. As a result when i returned on the Jan 10th I arrived to a huge Easter leak from a busted pipe in my washing machine and it was 30° in my RV. This could have been avoided! Pick up the phone and call me. In fact when I checked in I told them I was a Disabled Veteran and had bad short term memory loss, so if I ever am late just call me and tell me I'm late and I'll pay it, no questions asked. They finally sent me an email stating that if I didn't pay I would be shut off. I promptly paid but they had already shut things off. 10/10 don't recommend staying here long term. If you're stay a couple weeks or a weekend it's great. But long term stay somewhere else and avoid this fiasco! Site isn't level and dirt. With the snow and rain my RV is currently sinking and will be getting my truck under it as soon as I can get the hitch back in it to move a bit. Can't wait to get out of here in March! read more

We came here meet family for Labor Day weekend thinking for the website would be good for the kids but that was a BIG mistake. 1) Almost couldn't get our camper in the site because there was a permanent person in front of where we needed to back in and they it roped off with green stakes and they wouldn't let us pull them out to be able to back in, but we could bend them and after many many forwards and backwards we finally were able to get into the site. 2) Hookups were on the opposite side of the trailer; sewer was right outside the door with NO cover. 3)Took the kids to play and the jump, bouncy pillow only to find out that it was any good because someone had cut it but had to be years ago as there were grass cuttings covering the whole thing, the mini golf was weedy and trashy. 4) Day one, took the kids to swim and the older kids were throwing a football from the deep end to the 3 ft end and I had a 5-year-old trying to play and ask if they would please move forward so the little kids could play, I was sitting there on the side of the pool and got hit football, I was talking to the kids when a young man some adults that work there came and I was explaining what happened and they more worried about their kids playing ball then the little kids being able to play in the 3 ft so I took mine out for the day as it was getting too busy for the little kids to play safely. Day two tried to go swimming again, started out ok there were other smaller kids swimming, but the older kids were starting to play again making it hard play and then some adult women came out and were sitting on the pools edge and starting drinking beer, I have nothing with drink but not at pool side with kids. had to leave as now the adults were also throwing the football. 5) This is more like a racetrack then a campground there were so many golfcarts driving around at one time we had to sit and wait just to park in our site there was a line of about 40 carts running around and taking the whole rode so we couldn't move. 6) If you want to get high this is the place to camp all day you can smell the weed, and this isn't place I want my kids to be. I would never go here again and would never recommend it to anyone. read more

Upon check in I was greated by a wonderful staff who was eager to help my stay be the best possible. They havr so many great this for children of all ages to enjoy. At 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays you can enjoy a parade of golf carts displaying decorations of all kinds. They have tons of family friendly activities to do and playgrounds. They have a lake to fish golf carts to rent if you dont own one. Pet friendly campground. I will be returning again and again! I love the family oriented atmosphere!!!!! read more

Written during COVID. Upon check-in, you'll be greeted by 2 friendly folks inside, none of which wearing masks. The campsites are cramped next to each other, and ours had a huge camper parked in the front of it, making our site even less private. The 10:30PM Golf Cart parade was funny for 5 minutes - but 30 minutes later, with the lights constantly lighting up our tent, the Dixie horn continuously blaring, and the Trump flags on the Carts made it really unpleasant. It wasn't always the case but now the place is an absolute dump terrible management and poorly ran. They allow kids and reckless driving of golf carts, 4 wheelers and dirt bikes. They have no rules that they enforce. We saw a guy flip a 4 wheeler due to reckless driving and he had to be taken away in an ambulance. This all happened feet away from where our children were playing just an hour before. They have security but that is another joke he doesn't do anything ever yet yelled at my son to quit running on the side of the road (he was running to get help his sister had gotten hurt) which she ended up with a broke a broken foot due to kids roughhousing on the jumping pillow. We had been coming for 25+ years and we will never come back. And I have heard the same issues from lots of people. read more

We stopped at Timberline on the way from Wisconsin to Texas, just needing a place to stop for the night. The good: 1. The young man in the office was very nice and got us into a site quickly. 2. It was very quiet during the evening and overnight hours. 3. The grounds appear to be well tended (grass mowed, roads in good shape, site was level). The not so good : There are apparently a lot of full timers here, so some of the sites look pretty junky. The roads are also a little narrow. It seems that a lot of these folks have to go to work between 5 and 6 in the morning. I won't diss anyone for going to work early (I do it myself ), but there was enough traffic noise on those gravel roads to wake me up and keep me up. I didn't count, but it was a lot. It looks like they kept a lot of the activities from when this was a Jellystone park, but we were here on a Monday evening during the off season, so no one was doing any of them. Perhaps those might make it worth the price to some, but for a quick overnight stay, it was a bit pricey to me. read more

The people at Timberline campground are very friendly. They have a lot of kids out there so if you have kids 8 and up, this is a great place for you to stay! the park is so much fun for the kids and a great place for adults to have a good time. If you have younger kids i wouldn't recommend Timberline for you. The golf cart runs are so much fun and the kids have a blast! The pool is packed a lot of the time which is one of the things our family doesn't like. Timberline is a place for having a good time and partying with your friends and family. Everyone out there is friendly and they have gotten better with their rule enforcements. Such a good campground if you like having a good time!! read more

We are normally state park campers but tried this place for a weekend to be near a family function. I would say it was a nightmare, but you have to be able to sleep in order to have nightmares. Around 10:30pm nightly (several hours after our toddlers go to sleep) the drunken golf cart parade gets underway with blasting music, horns, and shouting through the entire campground. Then if you are as lucky as we were, your neighbors (it's a camper parking lot, so they are close) continue the brawl through the rest of the night... There seem to be no rules, at least no enforced rules. It is such a beautiful area with such potential... Wish we had read some reviews first. read more

This was a Jellystone campground but now under new ownership. Our grandkids had a blast doing the different activities. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our pull through site was level and all utilities worked fine. The campground is located a few miles from the Interstate but the access was quick and easy. The campground was nearly full but it was quiet. My only complaint was that campers are too close together. Not much room between units. I agree with another poster that the permanent campers need to clean up their site. Some of those sites look pretty junky which detracts from the camping experience. We enjoyed our weekend and plan to return next season. We camped in a 5th wheel. read more

This campground is packed in tight. We have given it several tries and it never gets better. We look at it originally to considered a permanent spot but can not justify due to the poor qualities. We kept hoping. The sites are not mowed regularly, they have children under 16 driving 4-wheelers, golf cart and dirt bikes around the campground. Unbelievable that they would allow this if anything for liability reason. They allow any for of motorized transport not just golf carts. The pool is so small there is no way anyone can enjoy it. The few times we have been there it was so back there was no room on the deck to sit and it was standing room only in the pool. The lake is cover with moss so it is challenging to fish in. They have paddle boats to rent that are fairly inexpensive but you don't want to go because the lake is so mossy. Their is a decent little mini golf area and they do have a jumping pad. They have a decent little shop with name brand items if you forget something. They are close to a town with one gas station. I really would not recommend his place unless you are travel and need an over night quick stay. Definitely do not go on a holiday weekend unless you are simply there for the party aspect. read more

I've stayed at this campground in the past, but it's been a few years, and all I can say is that the new management is doing a bang-up job. The grounds themselves are vastly improved, with chipped roads instead of gravel/mud, and activities out the wazoo! While the place was pretty busy, our grandkids had a really good time, and there were more than enough activities to keep them entertained. The pool was clean, and though there were a lot of kids, for the most part, everyone got along. The staff was very friendly, and professional, and our experience, from one end to the other, was a treat. We have a 36 foot A class. Some of the spots were tight, but we had enough room to maneuver, and a firepit and table, for meals. Overall, a very nice campground, and we've been from here to California, so we've seen it all. WARNING do not rent anything (campers, trailers, cabin, etc) because they will send some halfwit old lady out to check your camper after you check out and then steal your deposit!!!! Love the campground, it is very nice and some of the employees are very nice as well but overall will not stay here ever again! Everything went smooth until checkout time when they sent an older lady to check our 2 rental camper after we had removed our stuff. Upon her return to the front office I heard her in the office talking to the clerk that was responsible for giving my deposit back telling him that we destroyed the places which was absolutely untrue. In fact we left them cleaner than we found them! When asked what we destroyed they said we had been smoking in the cabin (not true), we destroyed the lock on the front door (not true) and that we burnt the wall by the stove (not true)! None of these issues were from us. We then went over to the camper with the manager to show us the things that were supposedly destroyed (he had not seen them yet himself)! There was a small existing burn mark on the wall in the trailer next to the stove which was very small and the manager agreed there was no smoke smell! The Lock that she said was destroyed was not destroyed but just needed fixed (regular maintenance)! The manager told me he would meet me back up at the office. I was under the impression he would be returning my deposit after seeing that nothing was from us! He then proceeded to tell me that he had to take his employees side and could not give me my deposit back because she is a professional maid and knows what she's doing!?!?! I am not so upset about the fact that I am out of $50 but the fact that we enjoy the campground and would love to enjoy coming back but do not want to be stuck into the scam where they steal my deposit every time because of a careless or negligent housekeeper that didn't see something from The previous renters which I Also I forgot to mention that the campers/trailers that we rented are usually booked out and rented by their very own staff at the campground, coincidence??
