Got Watts installed two phases of solar panels on my roof, 67 panels in total. The job was massive,…read morethe price was fair, and the follow up service was excellent. There were hardware glitches after installation, but the Got Watts team reliably spotted them - without me realizing there was even an issue - and sent teams out to ensure my equipment worked as promised. Years later I noticed some leaks through my roof where some phase 2 panels were installed. I notified Got Watts and they sent large crews to my home to rectify the issue over several days. This was no small fix. They probably spent vastly more to rectify the leaks than they did to install the panels to begin with. No one likes to have problems with an install. But, it means a lot for a contractor to honor their commitment and spend vast sums to honor their warranty, and their word, to their customer. I've had "good companies" make promises they wouldn't honor once the initial check cleared. Got Watts was true to their word and treated me in a dignified manner that is rare these days. I recommend Sunlight Electrical Solutions…read more My home solar/battery system was having intermittent issues. The company that installed my solar had gone out of business. The owner of that business recommended Sunlight Electrical to fix my system. I spoke with Carlos at Sunlight. He sent out Isaac who seemed very capable. Isaac's assessment was that my system had multiple wiring issues and recommended a service that would require a larger team to complete. He explained why, and I concurred with Isaac's recommendation. Carlos scheduled a larger team to come out the next week. They were led by Jesus, who also seemed quite knowledgeable. Jesus and his team worked diligently for 4 hours. They found more wiring errors as Isaac has predicted. And they found a damaged Tesla MC2 unit on the roof which had cracked. After they completed their repairs, the system started operating better than it ever had before. I estimate that I am now getting an extra 10-15% more power from the solar panels. In addition to providing capable technicians, I really appreciate that Sunlight is so easy to work with. I asked several highly technical questions and always got thoughtful answers. If you want something done a specific way, just ask them. They have such a positive, customer oriented attitude that makes them a pleasure to deal with.

I spoke with many contractors, and almost all of them sent salespeople who gave generic answers or tried to push cookie-cutter solutions that clearly didn't fit my setup. Carlos was completely different. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he wasn't a salesperson -- he's an engineer, and it shows. He took the time to deeply understand my system, reviewed actual spec sheets on the spot, and immediately identified issues that other contractors completely missed. Multiple companies told me Hyundai panels would work fine. Carlos checked the amperage limits, applied proper safety margin calculations, and clearly explained why those panels would not work with my EcoFlow system -- saving me from a costly mistake. By the time the solar panels were installed in late 2025, we had signed three contracts with them due to a series of delays dealing with all the idiosyncrasies of our old house. Through it all, our sales contact, Jason Coolman, was patient and knowledgeably answer our questions as they came up. Everyone at Solar Technologies that we worked with was great. They made sure that things went smoothly and on time. We are thrilled with our new solar system. Solar Technologies has been a Bay Area Sunshares vendor for many years and a lot of other reviewers sound like they're as happy as we are. Down the street from us, a large cluster of neighbors hired Solar Technologies and I have only heard good things from those I've spoken to.

Bad bad bad. They were great at making a proposal and getting our money, but there were so many…read moreproblems with the design and installation. We knew they were running against the clock trying to wrap up installations before the tax credit ran out, but now the system is installed and having TONS of problems and they do not respond to calls or emails. We fin called the manufacturer (Enphase) and they sent a technician out to diagnose and turns out Solar Technologies configured our system incorrectly and other problem. Enphase communicated to Solar Technologies what they need to do to solve all of our problems, but Solar Technologies is completely unresponsive. Our batteries only charge up to 17 percent capacity because they didn't set the system up correctly so basically we paid 50k for a system and that system is only functioning a quarter of what it should be. I wish they would refund us for all the capacity that we've missed out on. They are terrible.

Sue, the office manager, was great to work with--she was responsive, helpful, and kept us informed throughout the process. Joe came out to provide the estimate, and he and another installer completed the installation in just one day. They recommended using a pool cover to help retain heat overnight when temperatures drop, and that advice has worked well for us. Since installing the system and using the pool cover, our pool temperature has been averaging around 82°F in the morning and warming up to approximately 85-87°F during the day. We haven't experienced many really hot days yet, but so far the system is performing exactly as we had hoped. We're very happy with our decision and are glad we finally made the switch to solar.

Responses were slow and vague; I could not even get a ballpark estimate without repeated follow-ups. My last email requesting scheduling went unanswered, and then--three weeks later--Joe called on May 6 saying he was eight minutes away. I had no idea I'd been scheduled, and I was just lucky to be home. Bottom line: if you can get on Joe's calendar, you'll likely be happy with the repair. Just be prepared for shaky communication and scheduling from the office staff.

I will sectionalize this review because there were some things in the process I think deserve…read moredifferent ratings. Initial survey and installation scheduling: 3 Stars We signed up to get the solar roof from Tesla in February 2022. In march we had the roof survey. I was told by the surveyor the work that would need to be done to the roof to get it ready for the solar tiles. This price was also reflected in my quote. I was also told there was a delay in the install times due to supply chain issues. I was told to expect a call for scheduling in May or June. By early November, I had not heard anything yet. So, I called customer service to check the status. The rep was very helpful and got my install scheduled for the 3rd week of November. About a week or so before the install, I was called by Tesla and told that after reviewing my plans further, it looked like a small area over my garage didn't meet the pitch requirement for the solar tiles so, an alternate roofing material would have to be used. I was also told it would blend in nicely. I was also told the price would be a little more for this additional material (3k more). They told me they wanted to let me know before the job so I could back out if I wanted to. I was happy they told me about and proceeded with the install time. This part of the process I rated 3 stars because I was not called by Tesla for the install time and the small area of the roof that didn't meet the requirement wasn't mentioned on the initial survey. Installation Crew: 5 Stars The installation week arrived and the crews that came out did a great job. The crew leader's name is Geronimo and his team is called "Colussus" out of Martinez. They were on time, worked quickly, were very polite and accommodating. The whole install went off without a hitch. They did it over 2 weeks. The first week was sub-contracted where they did the tear down, decking, underlayment and the area of the garage that was not going to have tiles. This took 3 days. The second week they did the Powerwall install and solar tile install. This took 3 days as well. After the Powerwall was installed, the crew went over the Tesla App and all features in it with us. This was very helpful. Geronimo also went over with me the hazards and safety things if I have to walk on the roof for work on my HVAC system. He even provided a safety mat to put on the roof to prevent slipping while walking on it. He and his crew had great customer service. Initial Roof Completion: 3 stars When the roof was initially "finished," the untiled area over the garage did not blend well or look good with the solar tiles. This is because that part of my roof was coded in the design plan as a "Flat-roof," even though that part is just under a 3:12 pitch. Therefore, it was finished with a black rolled composite material you find on flat roofs. This wasn't the fault of the install crew because they can only do what is in the plan. But, this was an issue with the initial survey. Project Advisor: 5 Stars My Project Advisor's name is Michael Kielbasa. He was great! He was very knowledgeable about the product and answered all my questions prior to the install. He was very responsive and got things done quickly. When the roof was initially "finished" I sent him a picture and told him the material over my garage does not blend well and it made the roof look unfinished. I asked him if there is any way we can put non solar producing tiles in the section after all since there is some pitch and it's not flat. If not, I asked him if we could have a different finished installed instead. He sent the pictures and my concerns to the operations and install team. He arranged for the install crew leader, Geronimo, from the install team come out and measure the pitch of that section to reassess if it actually is possible to have the tiles installed there. Geronimo said he was comfortable that it could be done with no pooling/drainage issues, but had to get clearance from his supervisor. Shortly after, Michael emailed me and told me they got the green light to install the tiles in that section after all. They had the crew out the next day and they completed it over 2 days! They also did not charge me anything additional. Michael was great and I was very happy to have a Project Advisor that helped put our minds at ease during the entire process with great customer service! Actual Roof Completion: 5 Stars After the crew came back out and finished that untiled section, I was very happy with the finished product. The roof has held up will through a couple weeks of heavy rain and wind. It has been producing well although I have not yet seen its full potential because of the weather and clouds. Overall Experience: 4 Stars I'm rating my experience as a whole as 4 stars because although a lot went right, I did have to be my own advocate with certain parts of the process (Scheduling, Initial finished look). However, they were quick to correct these things
