The Timbers Motel is fantastic! I found it thanks to Yelp while searching for something else and am so glad I spent a night here. Whenever I come to Eugene in the future, this will be my place. I stayed here from July 5-10, 2014, found it to be a great choice, and really appreciate the Yelp reviews because that's how I picked the place initially and made the reservations sight unseen from my home in Nebraska. The room was aesthetically pleasing; the mattress was substantial and comfortable and of good quality; the linens were changed daily; Towels were big, fluffy and sumptuous; I wasn't bothered by noise coming from other rooms, so it must be well insulated; they accepted my dog; I did laundry twice while there, and that worked out well; the staff is "on it" and pay careful attention to every detail; and while I was there, the flowers were beautifully and outrageously blooming. Daily the staff were cleaning up fallen flower petals, watering plants, dusting the exterior walls of the building, even. I arrived late, my first night, and they accommodated my schedule; I needed to extend my stay one day beyond what I originally planned, and they accommodated that too. Just a great experience, all the way around. If I return to Eugene I'll stay here again for sure. It was definitely a wonderful choice as a "home away from home." read more

So it's comfy and centrally located to most things I've need for this trip. Walls are a bit thin and the "continental breakfast" is NOT what we expected (just bagels and muffins). All in all we've stayed at place for the same price that were more comfortable and had an actual breakfast in the morning, but it was clean and pet friendly which can be a pain to find in this area. Just be prepared for a bit of noise off and on and going elsewhere for morning meal. Also I recommend a room on the top floor on the backside for the quietest stay you can achieve. Cheers~ read more

What a wonderful surprise to spend the night at this motel. The room was very nice and clean with a microwave and refrigerator. It had wood floors and wooden ceiling. The bathroom had actual tile in the tub/shower and floor. It is also pet friendly for a fee. Staff was very helpful. I highly recommend this great place for a great price too. read more

The things that keep this place from being 5 stars is the lack of customer service. Specifically when we checked in they did not advise about breakfast or check out time. Barely spoke to us at all. Also the beds are HARD and the pillows aren't good. Otherwise great location and it's clean and remodeled and doesn't feel like a motel. read more

I've stayed at Timbers three times, the front desk is very helpful and booking online is very easy. They've recently remodeled their lobby/office, and it is very quaint, very comfortable. The rooms are adequately clean and normally sized. The amenities are all wonderful except for the WiFi. I recently stayed in two different rooms that uses the same WiFi. One barely could stream YouTube. The other could not even load facebook. It was the only negative thing about any of my visits though. Certainly for the value and the location, it makes it an obvious choice for anyone visiting Eugene. Highly recommended. read more

I have no problem with this mom and pop style motel! The rooms are clean with modern amenities yet has that feel like you're traveling along Route 66. I have been to all 50 states, excluding Hawaii and including North Dakota. I have been to at least 10 countries. I have traveled by air, sea, land, under sea and under land. Yet I have never been treated with such disrespect and pure intentional nastiness as I was trying to check into the Timbers this afternoon. I recognize that it was expedia's fault that my reservation was not handled properly, but they even refused to let me make a phone call from the lobby to find a room at another hotel, even adding "we have cameras". I left, tired, disheveled, dragging my luggage with no plans for a room for the night. Not really a big deal, it's not like there were not 15 more more motels within walking distance. But if I looked so tired and disheveled for some pretentious hipster motel like the Timbers to refuse to let me sit in their lobby, I wondered where I could go in this town that would accept that same woman, only crying. If you have to stay here, do NOT stay in a room on the first floor. It's 4:00am and I'm exhausted, but I've gotten about an hour of sleep. Whenever the people upstairs walk around, the ceiling makes LOUD cracking and snapping sounds and the walls make loud snapping and popping sounds--and they have been walking around and coughing ALL NIGHT. I wish I could include a sound recording with my review to show how unbelievably loud it is. If I couldn't see that the ceiling is made from sturdy looking beams I would seriously think it was going to fall down on me. I wish I wasn't so tired and had somewhere else to go, so I could leave. read more

Loved the Timbers Motel! This is much more than a Motel though. Our room was lovely. The fixtures were all coordinated, the colors in the room (browns and gray) were blended so well together, the bathroom fixtures were high quality, and that quite possibly was the best shower head I have ever had the pleasure of standing under. Yes it is a slightly more costly than other "motels" in the area as some reviewers have stated, but as I mentioned at the beginning of my review, this is more upscale than a typical motel. Good, no-frills, affordable motel. Was just in town for the night to see a concert at the Hi-Fi Music Hall and this place was in walking distance. The king bed was comfortable, though the sheets could have maybe been a little cleaner. There were a couple stains, but I'm not sure what you can expect with motel guests constantly spilling various.. fluids on them. Haha. Anyway, it looks to be recently remodeled and looks good, just kind of thrown together, furniture-wise. The rain shower felt amazing after the late concert. Continental breakfast looked good, but we ate at the waffle place a five minute walk away. Rooms could use some directions/personalization reminding you what hotel you're at and where the ice machine is. Definitely would not have found it if I hadn't walked over to the front desk(where a sleepy homeless man was bothering the front desk person). Staff were all friendly, especially the guy who checked me in. Would stay there again. read more

Very well maintained place showing pride of ownership, and the night desk fellow has such a pleasant demeanor that I'm giving it 5 stars. No continental breakfast as at Best W, but for the $60 difference in price, we feel safe saying that we'll manage to cover breakfast. Wish that they had offered us the $55 rate, but maybe that was a single? Still a way better option than the big guys. read more

I absolutely love this place. I have not been to a motel that was so clean and classy. Some of the $120-$150 hotels in California I have paid for do not even compare to this place. Everything was clean upon arrival. The wooden floors and ceiling makes everything feel way cleaner than the usual carpet or stucco ceilings on most motels. The sink and phone were absolutely adorable, both antique looking. It is small-ish as most models are, but the furniture was laid out so there was a lot of room to sprawl our luggage on the floor. My favorite part was the option for the rain shower head. My hair is really, really long, and the water pressure on the shower head was so full that it rinsed the shampoo out of my hair within just a few seconds. I'm writing this review in bed right now, with bright white sheets that also feel perfectly clean. The last motel I stayed at in California on our road trip up north made my skin itch. This place was not the case at all. The front desk is also very friendly and helpful, explaining to us noob Californians how some laws are different here in Oregon, and offered to call us in the morning to ensure we checked out in time (I can sleep until forever). This place is amazing and will probably be my go-to place if I ever need a place to stay along the I-5 in Oregon. read more

The Timbers Motel was where I spent my first night in Eugene when I moved here. We needed a last minute hotel room with our two dogs and we were pleased to find this place was pet friendly with a pet fee. They have reasonable rates during the week but of course those become less reasonable on the weekends. We stayed here for two nights in a room with a king size bed and thought the room was very clean and modern. We liked the hardwood floors except if you are staying on the ground level you will more easily hear the people walking and talking above you. We had some noisy neighbors who were partying next to us (thin walls) but eventually quieted down. The employee at the counter was moderately friendly but answered all of my questions. There was a strange lady staring at us while we took our dogs to the bathroom each morning and I think she was the owner. It was giving me weird vibes like my pets shouldn't be there even though I paid the fee but I could just be over thinking it. This motel sits very close to downtown and Bank of America. There is some shopping and many restaurants to choose from. I would recommend this place to others. read more

I've stayed here about four times and each time it has been a pleasure. The motel is in the center of Eugene, within walking distance of all the great restaurants and galleries. It's an easy run to the pedestrian/bikeways along the river. The staff always is friendly, professional, helpful. And they do an awesome job in their colorful planters: a highlight to the area. This last visit, we left my laptop.... they discovered it two hours later when we were on the road. They were awesome: packed it up, shipped it out, and everything came in perfect condition including the 695 photos of our son's weekend wedding! What a sigh of relief. We have stayed here several times in the last five years. If you don't have a dog it's a reasonable place to stay. They are renovating rooms continuously. Rooms are comfortable if not a little cramped. Noise comes thru the ceiling (ground floor) & from the outside especially if one is staying near the sidewalks. As the hotel is near the Bus Station there are a lot of homeless milling about at nite. Perhaps the best part of staying here is the upgraded breakfast venue. Well done with new, comfy seating. There is covered outdoor seating as well. Nice touch. Now for the dawg. On all our previous stays our dog was free of charge. Upon our arrival we were informed there was a new policy & would be charged $40 for our canine sidekick. Bringing our total to $140. We spoke with the Manager/ Owner (?) Kevin(?) in the morning. He offered a $15 discount on the dog next visit. Needless to say we will probably stay elsewhere. Pity. read more

We stayed here on recommendation from an acquaintance and were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was for the reasonable price. The room was clean and comfortable and included a fridge and microwave. The a/c worked well for the hot August weather, and the shower was nice and hot with one of those rainfall-type shower heads. I slept great! Location can't be beat - we parked our car here and walked to everything we wanted to see. The only minor drawback is that the in-room coffee is super weak. The friendly clerk checked me in, recommended places to eat then handed me a key to my room. A key! Already I was excited. This place is cool. The ceiling is a rustic wood, the beds are comfortable and, overall, the room is clean. The location is great for checking out Eugene life. After a slice of pizza, I walked a few blocks into a thriving area with street artists and musicians providing my soundtrack as I walked down the dog friendly streets. Then I strolled the five minute trek back to the motel, put my key in the lock and got comfy on the bed while watching a show on a nice, flat screen television. If you're traveling with a high maintenance person then no, but if you're cool with an old school appeal that's reasonably priced, then yes. read more
