Buffet area
Lailah J.

This is a buffet restaurant inside Great Wolf Lodge, serving breakfast and dinner only. The breakfast menu has both hot and Continental food options, and the dinner menu is Italian. Kids 3 and under eat free. We came here for dinner and were pleased with our experience. The inside is very spacious, with plenty of seating, and the buffet area is pristine. Since we came during an off-peak time it wasn't full at all. The food is only OK, not made with refinement, but it's a well-rounded selection including many kid-friendly options (I liked the pepperoni & sausage pizza!). When you sit down they bring over breadsticks with olive oil for dipping and a large bowl of salad, which looked better than it tasted. The salad itself is actually really nice, but ruined by the super sour dressing it was drowning in, which they really ought to change for something milder! Ask for dressing on the side. The items I enjoyed the most were the salmon and the orzo pasta salad. Also the lemon bar from the dessert station. The daily carved meat - roast pork loin on the night we went - was cooked well but under-seasoned. Drinks are self serve except for alcoholic beverages. My $14 glass of Hugo spritz was tasty but filled with ice...I should've stuck with wine. Our server was sweet though it took a while for anyone to clear our stacked plates, even though it wasn't a busy night. We appreciated the variety, however, and if you have a picky toddler like we do whose food preferences can be unpredictable from one day/meal to the next, you'll be glad of the choices, including fresh fruit!

29$ for one! Not much food to pick from. All sugar base foods. Would not recommend bring your own food to the hotel room.

The food was actually pretty good. I paid $60 for myself, $16 each for my twins and my toddler was free.

The weekday dinner had lobsters and the weekend lunch had crayfish. We enjoyed all the food and the waitstaff was very attentive, they made quick rounds to collect plates and refill sodas. There is a lot of variety in the selections and they're all pretty tasty. Their sushi was good, we really it. The only thing I did not like was the wasabi, it looked neon green, the color of slimer from ghostbusters... it was looking too artificial. Their dessert/fruit table also has a wide selection and we had no issues whatsoever. The ice cream machine was kind of slow, I saw a lot of people had difficulty with the chocolate side of the machine. This is a great option to have out in the Poconos. We will alway return.

There is a nice fountain in front for ambiance. Some of the food was mislabeled or had no signage. There was some sushi which was fine, but no hibachi option. It was nice to have fruit options with dessert. There was a variety of meats, noodles, and soups. There wasn't a ton of variety, but it'll do the trick. Neither of us felt great after, but I can't tell if it's the quantity or quantity. The prices are a little cheaper during the week and during lunch where there is one flat rate on Sunday, so if you're going on one of those days, it may feel like better bang for your buck.

0 stars for housekeeping -- they didn't notice our original shower was broken, they didn't clean…read morethe shower when we requested it when the floor was wet (because the shower curtains are very short). This was by far the laziest housekeeping people we've ever encountered in our lives -- instead of taking the requested dirty towels away and replacing them, they left everything on the ground and just dumped a pile of towels on the sink. Additionally, they barely made the beds -- the sofa bed was ignored while the main mattress' sheets were all touching the ground. Only the kids bunks got remade properly. We passed other rooms and it looked like they actually made the beds, so we probably got assigned the world's laziest person. Food: buffet food is meh. Restaurant food a step up. Stick with dunkin' for breakfast. Ice cream not bad, soft serve is large portions. Mirror maze was basically all broken. Only 2 things really worked when we went in, by the next day only one worked. Pay dirt (mining gemstones/fossils) was a high value activity for my kids - extra worth when you have the 25% discount. Water park is tiny and cold (there's a few small hot tubs), but has a lazy river; slushies standard ICEE brand, mini golf is sad (only like 7 holes maybe). Kids had a ton of fun at the candlestick bowling -- there's a bunch of game modes to try. Only worth if you get the unlimited. Magiquest was 4-6 hours of running around fun and defeating monsters. Wands and attachments are all upcharges from standard. Mostly can only access up and down with elevators so when one is out of order it takes forever. We didn't experience anything outdoors bc of rain.

Had to request toilet paper and towels because no one came to our room. *Lazy river was everything but lazy.. Don't understand why kids are allowed in the lazy river without tubes! Swimming and running while people are trying to float! There are two adequate pools for swimming and a wave pool. * Read your bill At the water park we ordered food and was over charged for some items. Adjustment was made when we brought it to their attention. Also gratuity charge was on the bill.. In our room about 8:00 PM the room above us had assuming kids jumping off of furniture sounding like they were going to come through our ceiling! Could not call down to the front desk room phone didn't work... Had to use the chat?? We were told quiet hours start at 11:00 PM... So beware it's ok if someone comes through your ceiling before 11:00 PM.

Our server was Sienna, (not sure if that was spelled right), and she was extremely attentive to us and very patient with our group. We also were able to order Shirley Temples off menu because Sienna knew how to make those as well. They also served our Shirley Temples in insulated white foam cups. The food was perfect! We ordered their salmon with a side of mashed potatoes and broccoli, Chicken Française with a side of potato wedges, a side salad, Grilled cheeses with french fries for the kids, tuna melt, cheese curds, and a sandwich off their special menu I can't remember the name. The sandwiches came with bagged kettle cooked chips! I wasn't able to picture everything because everyone had mostly scoffed their food down immediately. Lol. Definitely recommend their brownie sundae for dessert, with their Double Dunker ice cream! SO GOOD! I also included a video of one of our rowdy kiddos having a good time with her food! Super worth it dining experience, I will say there is absolutely no signal to use your cellphone, so more family bonding haha. This place is amazing and would definitely come back.

Other things have changed over the years as well - like Puppadum used to be complimentary but is now considered a menu item. We came here after high school graduation to celebrate. We were seated in one of the banquet rooms which was a nice change from sitting in the train. We all got our dishes and shared 3 sides of rice (party of 6). My little one got tikka kabob (not pictured). Half of our party enjoyed the spicy options like chili cheese naan, and Indian spicy curry. I tried something new and learned the lamb kadhai has quite the kick, I wasn't expecting bc I wasn't asked for the heat level. The tikka masala and chicken curry were delicious. My kids love the mango lassi & must have thought they were bottomless they way they kept them coming lol. We each received a complimentary gulab jamun at the end of our dinner. Overall, really great Indian food. They do have a buffet to try different things but I can't remember when they offer it.

Your (very) standard/basic/expected resort buffet…read more A solid/varied selection of items... from an omelet station to the cereal dispensers (my kids used to love this contraption when they were younger) to fruit (diced and/or whole) to... kielbasa?! (They were totally trying to butter up the Mrs. who was born in Poland, that's for sure!) First gripe: my kids usually love (and devour) waffles - but here they were incredibly sweet and they couldn't handle more than a bite or two. Second gripe: the waitstaff's main function seems to be for getting your drinks (and later giving you the check). Even after all the time it took to "hunt-and-gather" (loading up our plates) from the various stations we were almost done with our food before receiving our coffees, waters, and lemonades. (This really needs to be tinkered with so it'll be improved for future diners.) Coffee (when we finally got it!) was surprisingly good. Pricing was better than expected, for sure. Friendly diligent crew of workers - constantly checking in to see how everyone was doing. It wasn't the best or worst breakfast buffet I've ever been to.
