Thank you for making me look like the best Auntie ever today! I came in right when they opened the doors and had a list of 4 items I saw online that I wanted to buy. Within 10 minutes I had everything I needed, was checking out and got every gift wrapped. Bought a little toy there today that didn't work when I got home. I took it back to return it and the Karen at the front desk gave me a hard time. Actually took the toy out of the box to test it in front of me to try and prove me wrong. Even while it was half way working she asked me "what's wrong with it?" This store is more expensive than any other toy store in Colorado. It is close to home and I have spent thousands of dollars over the years there. Never going back now. Bye and bye. read more

Brought my indecisive 7 year old daughter in here to pick out some birthday toys. While their selection isnt super huge, the staff were polite and friendly. The store was organized efficiently with age and gender in mind. I observed one of them trying to help another customer look for a toy she could only describe but did not know the name of. That was hilarious. He remained supportive though telling her he could probably order it if she could find the name or maker. Im sure my daughter will have me back there in time. read more

As I walked into Timbuk Toys today to pick up a birthday gift for a child I noticed their job posting stating they are hiring a friendly sales associate, then a few minutes later when checking out I realized why---that hopefully they are replacing the sour girl who rang me up! ;) I love the toys, though the store is very small especially compared to my favorite toy store in Cherry Creek North and each time I go to Timbuk Toys I seem to be there when this one particularly unfriendly girl is working. How can you be so pissy and work at a toy store? Either way, the selection is fine, the toys they carry are good high quality ones but overall it's small and the staff has never been overly friendly when I've shopped there. I probably end up here 6x/year so not a ton but I need to forego it and head to CCN instead. Sorry Timbuk Toys! read more

I came in close to close, the minute I opened the door the girl behind the counter yelled, very rudely " Just so you know we are closing in two minutes." I knew what I needed, and I grabbed it with help from the other worker. When she rang me up I said " That took less than two minutes. " She sarcastically said, "You have a nice night". I told her I won't be back. I understand that it is frustrating when people come in close to closing, but there are nicer ways to say that. That wasn't it. read more

I must start by saying that Timbuk Toys has a unique selection of toys and my children were happily entertained. There was a great selection of educational toys and crafts. My son found some tiny dragon action figures that he was excited to buy. Problem was, the tiny dragons were not marked with prices. I asked the young sales clerk for a price and she seemed annoyed by my question. Her demeanor seemed to say "if you need to ask, you can't afford them". The little dragons were almost $2.00 a piece. Okay, so that seemed a bit much...but I bought 8 of them. Young sales woman asks me if I "want" a bag. Of course I do. Those tiny pieces couldn't have been easily carried out, even with two hands. Then it got really awkward. This young sales lady huffed around looking for a small bag and made no effort to hide how annoyed she was with me. Her words dripped with condescension as she told me to "have a nice day". I would love to come back to this store for the cool toys, but I will have to seriously think twice because of the way I was treated. read more

This is the best toy store by far! They carry a wide variety of toys and cater to educational toys. I love taking me nephew here and watching his eyes light up. The fact that he can actually touch & play with the toys is even better. The staff is always friendly too. My very outgoing tot of a nephew wanted to play with the ladies working there, so they played with him while still doing their jobs. If I wasn't sold on the store before, the level of customer service the employees here provide would have sold me. It's a joy to walk into a store where people are friendly and smiling. This is a toy store. Toys stores tend to have CHILDREN in their market equation, right? Sadly, not this one. My six year old daughter and I went to Timbuk Toys to make her first "with her own money" purchase. She chose something very small for a little under $14. She handed over six dollar bills and eight dollars in quarters that she carefully separated into piles on the counter. When the sales girl realized that $8 was in quarters, she said: "I'm sorry we can only accept up to $5 in change". Apparently, this is a HARD LINE for them and they were not going to accept $3 over their $5 change limit. This is a TOY store, and they refused to accept a child's money! A manger was there, and when I asked if they'd make an exception for a first time user of money in a store, she declined, but gave me the email address of the owner (and implied the owner would not change her mind). I paid with a credit card and my daughter handed her money over to me. Even though at that point they didn't deserve our business at all, I didn't want my kid to pay the price for their being inflexible, even though she was already completely disappointed. This still doesn't make any sense to me, and the owner ignored my email. read more

I love this toy shop it is amazing, I usually stop here for whenever I need a quick birthday present for a party or just something to surprise my kids with. I have really enjoyed the crew while there, fascinating conversations with the crew and your employee Andrew is very efficient and helps me quickly with what I needed and is very polite and customer service oriented. I went here for the first time to buy two separate birthday gifts. Kristian helped me and provided great customer service. Since I had never been to the store before, I didn't know about their email list. She added me and this resulted in a discount! Then, she wrapped the gifts with a ribbon, so I left ready to party (with 4 year olds). I will be sure to do all of my future party shopping here. read more

A few shoppers had a serious case of privilege and rudeness (making staff wrap and rewrap FREE Chirstmas gift wrapping services, dropping off kids for babysitting, etc.) but the staff took it in stride.
