I am a Toys "R" Us kid through and through but they were a little bit of everything. Timbuk caters to enrichment and STEM, not just the last eat video games. I have to say, I love this place. There are toys for every age group that doesn't involve electronics and I love it. We as a society are too dependent on the computer in our pocket and not encouraging development. This was first trip to this location as I usually go to Aspen Grove. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. I have never encountered otherwise at a Timbuk toys to include the Belmar location that was shut down. I even had the privilege of meeting an owner there and she was super nice: If you are looking for that one of a kind toy for a one of a kind kid, skip the big box stores and come here. Timbuk Toys is such a nice option to have in the neighborhood. They always have a great selection of toys for all ages, and the staff is helpful. They also frequently donate to community fundraisers. Their weekly story time with Mr Paul is great! Plenty of parking, and just overall a great place to shop that is not Amazon. read more

It's been a few weeks since I've visited and I'm still not happy with how I get treated when I've visited (3x now) The prices are insane but the service is what really is not acceptable by any standard. Each time, I thank them, and am returned with "you're welcome" if anything. NO gratitude for spending hundreds, no apology for not applying points to my account when your computers aren't working, just silence. Even getting one of the employees to stop gossiping long enough to ring me up, was extremely difficult. I felt like I was interrupting and asking favors, not PATRONIZING and supporting your store. It's unbelievable how entitled they feel. This is a prime example of why people go to major corporations like Amazon or Target, you can't get treated decently at a mom and pop and that's a sad reality for someone who really prefers supporting smaller businesses. read more

This has become my favorite toy store. I realize there are not many around these days and they are hard to find. Timbuk has become a staple in the Denver community for toys. My first experience was a great one. I was greeted immediately and offered help. There are plenty of really great toys, including green toys and educational toys for all ages. Right now they are also providing ways to help give toys to kids in need. They also have the option to wrap toys for one dollar. That's my favorite part! As I am navigating buying gifts for the holidays from small and local businesses, I was able to have two people from out of town purchase gifts from this store for my son for Christmas. What a joy it was to pick up gifts directly from the store, already wrapped and without a hassle! I highly recommend buying toys here! read more

This is such a cute toy store! There is a pretty decent variety of toys in here! They're a bit more expensive than the big box places but well stocked. It's sectioned off nicely and they have a separate area for kiddos under three which I appreciate. It looks like they also offer gift wrapping which I did not take advantage of since I had a kid in tow. But I will keep this place in mind for future purchases! read more

The people in here are very helpful and deserve raises. They will pack your toys for free. I just gave it four stars because the prices are above average, but I just keep going here every time there is a birthday party or holiday for all the children of my relatives and friends because of how unique these toys are. There are some good deals. They carry some of the old classics like sea monkeys or things they can build like a maze or miniature roller coaster or an obstacle course in the backyard. read more

They offer gift wrapping and a savings club and a selection of toys for everyone even things that will delight the adults. Please patronize this store. Really wanted to support the local independent store. My daughter, out from another country, purchased an expensive engineering toy for her nephew's birthday. Trying to help me entertain her toddler, she purchased an additional $50.00 toy by a well-known brand. The toy is not usable for the toddler without lots of adult help because is difficult to assemble and quick to fall apart. We asked for an exchange and was told a flat no. I tried a second time and explained the problem, and said the toy did not cost the owner $50, so how about a partial credit toward something. I have family with children here and many friends who are having grandchildren and I like to buy substantial toys, not junk, for them. I was told a flat no. I will not support this local business, then, unfortunately. The cost to the owner is about $30, but the unfriendly attitude will cost more. Am bummed. read more

I used to love this toy store. It was always a 5 star experience coming here. The toy selection is phenomenal and it used to feel like a nook and cranny toy store full of discovery around each and every corner. It used to be that you would walk in and you felt instantly welcomed. There were always young sweet people ready to wait on you. It still has an amazing toy selection but it's much more sparse and is a little confusing to navigate. Clearly it's a brand new location and are working out some kinks. The strongest difference is the customer service. Both times I was "helped" by the assistant manager, and both times it was a grating experience. Perhaps hire someone who like people and kids for a toy store? Just an idea. read more

I came in here looking for something for my niece who is almost 2. I went to their old location and this was my first time at this one. The store was pretty spacious and clean. I didn't find what I was looking for, but I do believe there is a lot more selection for kids above 2. Only a small section was for the under 2 age range. They had a lot of stuff for older kids like games and figurines. I think its a cool store, but unfortunately I didn't find anything I felt like I should buy. They employees were friendly. read more

Unique toys and so fun to be able to actually go into a toy store and not just order online. The staff is always helpful and friendly and I love that they are a small, locally owned business. I'm not gonna get into the price comparisons are whether or not the staff is helpful or teenagers arguments on here. The truth is, there just aren't anymore big toy stores out there. Yes, the big box stores have toy sections, but then you have to drag your kid through the massive parking lots and card section and pharmacy. And yes, you'll find little bitty ones in tourist towns or main streets, but they don't have doll sections, puzzle rows, etc. So, if you want your kid to enjoy the wonder we all had of getting the experience to go and wander a true toy store, pick out something they've felt and tried (not just flicked through pics on your iPhone), and then enjoy at home... guess what, here it is. We have been coming here for years but will be doing so less in the future. They have a great selection of interesting toys, a little more expensive than other places. However, this was offset by the fact that we got to support a local business and also they provided free gift wrapping. Now they are charging for gift wrapping--not free--which is a big downer for us and sort of shifts the balance of pros/cons. We can get toys elsewhere, less expensive, and wrap them ourselves. read more

I was looking for gifts for a 2 year-old who just had surgery. I thought that TimbukToys would have a great selection, which they did. The problem, however, was with the customer service. A teenage boy greeted me a minute or so after I came into the store; that's just about the only interaction I had with him. He milled about the front of the store the entire time I was in there. There was one other younger person working in the store, who didn't even say hello. I was in there at least 45 minutes, and nobody bothered to ask me if I needed help looking for something. They used to have really good, friendly service, but I guess that's not important anymore. It's a shame, because they really have some wonderful toys, but I doubt I will shop there again. read more

I use to go to this store for birthday gifts to support a local business instead of ordering online. However, lately the prices are way more expensive. I understand the need to charge a little higher than competitors, but recently prices are as much as $15 more. I just called today to see if they would be willing to come down on a toy that I could get for $14 elsewhere (they were selling the same item for $28!) The woman told me no and as I was trying explain that I'd prefer to buy from them but that is too much of a price difference, she rudely interrupted me and said "bye," and hung up! If I can find prices relatively comparable I will try to buy from them, but I do wish they would try to come down on prices a bit and not be so rude when someone inquires about the cost. read more

I went in to store with minimal expectations since I hadn't been to their old location. I was greeted immediately and helped right away. I had several questions since I don't have kids or very much kid experience. Everyone was helpful in explaining some things to me. And if one person didn't know, the other did. There were also a tremendous amount of filled bags behind the counter ago I asked what they were. Some were packages that were purchased then wrapped in store for free but the people were coming back to pick them up. And then there were several packages that were filled with donations to carrots charities. That won me over! It doesn't happen nearly as often as people think. I'm now a loyal customer. read more

I was willing to spend a little bit more money on the toys because I wanted to support your small business and I must admit I love the free gift wrapping. Also, you have a good selection of educational toys. I was in your store today getting gifts for the grandsons and learned that you now charge for gift wrapping. It's only $1 per package but given that your prices are already quite a bit higher than other places such as online, I would think the free wrapping would be a way to keep some of your customers such as myself. I've been to this location on several occasions. I've purchased items as gifts and on one occasion inquired on a donation for a silent auction for my daughters high school lacrosse team. The store Manager Becca helped me out by making a generous donation, Thank You!! I've had questions on gift ideas for kids and even needed New Years Eve Games for adults, Becca and the other employees steered me in the right direction with great/ fun choices that didn't disappoint. I don't recognize any of the staff at the new location and I've had nothing but bad experiences in my three visits in. They seem bothered with questions and were annoyed with my young children in the shop. Isn't this supposed to be a toy store? We won't be returning. read more

I stopped by this weekend to shop for a birthday party. Even though they were busy the staff greeted me as soon as I walked in.
