I went in to this location on a Saturday with an old bear that I made back in probably 2002 or 2003. I have had this bear for a very long time and have a couple instances over the years where I've misplaced her or forgotten her overnight at a hotel while on vacation. This occurred again recently and I decided when I got back home from vacation I was going to buy a tile tracking system and have it sewn in the bear. I walked into the Park Meadows store on Saturday and was greeted by Taylor. I explained to Taylor what I was looking for and she agreed with no hesitation to sewn the tracking system in to my bear. We came here to get my son and my daughter birthday bears. I learned about this through social media. You can get a bear for the price of the age they are turning, so $2 for my daughter and $4 for my son. The majority of the stuffed animals are around $30-40, so this is a great deal. If you plan on doing this, it has to be the birthday bear specifically. I liked that they have so many options for stuffed animals and even seasonal bears/outfits. The staff here were really nice and especially patient with my 2-year-old. I think it's a fun activity for kids. First of all, no one greeted us when we entered. We were hoping someone would help us because it was our first time shopping there. Once we had everything ready, we went to fill the gift bag, but the girls filling them seemed like robots. They only spoke like a machine; it didn't seem genuine. They looked tired or frustrated. I went to pay for everything I had. The girl asked if I wanted to add my email to collect points. I said yes, entered all my information, and when I went online to see the points I had earned, it turned out I had nothing. I tried sending messages to find out why, but they didn't reply or resolve anything. Then I asked to speak to a representative via text message, and they left me on hold. I think this store has lost its customers service . They need more happy crew. read more

The associates here are friendly and we stopped in to check out the new bears. I was thinking of a new outfit for my Grogu as well. The layout is easy to shop and people were happy building their bears. The price is higher than a regular stuffie but the birth certificate and voice box makes it cool. read more

What a fun activity that my daughter has been begging to do for quite some time. What kid doesn't want to create their own customized stuffed animal. The lines were a tad frustrating, but honestly, these are the times we are in and they handled them the best they could. The price point is a tad bit high, but we knew this going in. I am extremely disappointed in this location. I came in with my boyfriend during a date. The issue I have is the service. When we went to pay the lady grabbed our bear by the tag and said "do you want this" when we said no she cut the tag letting the bear fall onto the nasty floor then waited saying nothing until I bent over and picked it up. She didn't ask if I wanted the travel house thing to take it home and the biggest issue is that she didn't give us our birth certificate. The magic is gone. I personally did not see any signs saying what we could and could not say in the voice recording box and my boyfriend, his brother and I went there to get build a bears because my boyfriend goes to college out of state. My boyfriend said don't break mom and dads sh*t very quietly in his brothers voice recording. The build a bear staff said they had to listen to it so we gave them all of our voice boxes and they were extremely rude when telling my boyfriend that it had to be clean. Again we had no idea this was a rule or else we wouldn't have said this. But the entire time we were there after this happend, they were extremely rude to us and my boyfriends little brother did not end up getting a voice box of his brothers voice. I understand now that you can not use any profanity in the recording but what I had an issue with is how rude and disrespectful the staff was to us after the fact. read more

What a phenomenal experience we got to have! We took our son who turned one in August to get his birthday bear. We walked around and looked at everything first before we asked how to do everything. The girl at the counter explained the process and was very sweet! We grabbed our bear and headed over to the stuffing machine where we were greeted by Kim. Let me tell you, even though our son won't remember, my husband and I will, all because of how wonderful Kim was. She made this experience so special for our son and was so incredibly sweet! She let us step on the peddle to start the stuffing, constantly spoke with Christian and included him on everything, let him pick the heart he want, and even gave him a birthday sticker. Kim also would ask us if we wanted to get any additions added like the scent or the heartbeat but was never pushy. She was absolutely wonderful. We then headed over and picked out a shirt and got a birth certificate for our bear. Upon checking out, since it was his birthday bear, we paid the price of his age plus any additions we got, so in total it was only around $9. Fantastic price!! The entire process took us under 30-45 minutes I would say. There was only two other families in the store with us and this was a Tuesday evening. We took our daughter here for her very first time to celebrate being done with a pacifier. There were 3 people on staff, 2 employees and the MOD (this person told us she was the only manager on staff at the time). there was a birthday party and about 10 other people in the store making bears (we got there about 10 min after opening). The two employees who were stuffing bears were soft spoken but very kind and great with the kids. The one who was helping us was even patient when my daughter accidentally stepped on the fluffing pedal and sprayed the employee with fluff. We were so apologetic and the employee was really gracious. While it was busy, it was not chaotic and all customers were really patient during our visit. The MOD is where things were disappointing for us. She snapped at the other two employees in front of the customers, when the employees were trying to help answer phones or ring someone up. She seemed uninterested in the birthday party she was running and looked miserable the entire time we were there. She ended up being the one to check us out and made very little conversation with us. Then, while we were paying she said, completely unprompted, "sorry I'm the only manager here". Right after that, another employee walked in, walked behind the counter, had a smile on their face and said hello to the MOD. The MOD responded with and exasperated "please clock in right now". Now I don't know if this person was late for their shift or what but it was really awkward and unprofessional to speak like that in front of customers. This MOD has chosen to work in a store that caters to children, yet seems to not enjoy it at all. Perhaps she needs to "fake it till she makes it" while working here or get out of the business of working with kids. Thankfully our toddler is too young to notice the attitude and unhappiness of this MOD, but I know others could tell, probably even the birthday kid. read more

This is probably the fanciest layout of any Build-A-Bear Workshop location I've been to, and I've been to several. We called around to several different locations looking for a specific bear my wife wanted, and after finding out it was in stock at this location, we made the trek and were not disappointed. Ashley was the name of the employee who helped us, and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. Build-A-Bear furry friends are always great, but it's the experience of actually making one yourself that makes them truly special. Ashley made absolutely certain that we were well-taken-care-of, and we'd be happy to return to this location any time we need something that our local mall location doesn't have in stock. read more

Just had the WORST experience at this store. Brought my son there to use a gift card he received for Christmas and waited nearly 2 HOURS in line to get the bear stuffed. Had I known it would take so long I would have opted out immediately. You would think with such a long line, the two ladies working the stuffing machine would have picked up the pace a bit, but they just kept on at a snails pace. It was infuriating!! At one point, one of the workers got up and left...stood up from the machine, went in the back room, got her coat on and walked out of the store. My 8 yr old had her bday party here, we arrived about 10 minutes early to check in and I was quoted the wrong amount that I had signed up for, they told me I had purchased the $45 party and I told them I only wanted the $25 party like I had registered for and my confirmation reflects that. She said okay well we don't have enough bears at that price point and tried to get me to go for the $35 per kid. I told her I'd like to stick with my budget and she made me feel horrible and said she'll just transfer me down to the cheaper party... I said you aren't transferring me down to anything bc this was on my reservation and if you don't have enough bears to cover the cheaper party then that's not my problem. Erika was our host and it was so unorganized, no information no details on how this process works, the kids were scattered and it was chaos. She was super awkward with the kids and the party, it took a bit to get the party started although everyone was there 10-15 minutes before the party was supposed to start. They didn't have a private room to gather the kids together which would've helped with the initial party details and which bear they could choose and outfits in our "cheap" price point, it was stupid and I would never do a party there again or recommend this process to anyone. The store was definitely busy as it was a Saturday afternoon and right after the whole fiasco from 2 weeks ago. But we were greeted quickly and given instructions and tips. It was our first time there and kiddo had a gift certificate and voucher to use and chose to do this for his birthday. He went online to see which Pokémon were available and was a little bummed when the one he wanted was not there. But chose a different one and was happy. The line to stuff your bears was long but moved pretty fast. The staff were friendly but definitely tried to upsell you at every chance they could. I wouldn't have let him do any of it if it weren't for the gift card. Asked if he wanted a scent to add to the bear, asked if he wanted a Pokémon sound..both kiddo of course said yes to. After the stuffing you move along to the washing station which is a pretend bathtub. Then you can make a birth certificate for it and pick out any outfits. Then pay. Our guy without anything was like $30. For a stuffed animal. Then the sound and scent was another 10$. Good thing we had the gift cert I'm guessing this is the only time we would do this type of thing. read more

Do not go to the Build-A-Bear Workshop in the Park Meadows Mall. If I could rate it -5 stars I would. We stood in line for 30 minutes to take my kids, no big deal. Mean while they only have 1 person stuffing bears and 1 person putting hearts in the bears and tying them. No biggie whatever- I'm pretty lax when it comes to stuff like that because I get it, it's a Saturday it's busy. My problem was at the check out, there's a line of 5 people, and only one check out lady while the other one is just handing her the birth certificates I mean I get it, it's BUSY. But then I get up there, and this meek little 16 year old girl was checking me out. I could barely hear her, she was so meek. I pay everything's fine I'm about to walk away. She looks at me and goes I need you to give me the bear I have to put it in a bag it's company policy, I looked at her and said "if I take that bear away from my son he will scream." She started shaking because yes I copped an attitude because I'm not about to make Daniel unhappy by taking his toy away. AND WHY ARE EVEN MORE PEOPLE TOUCHING THE BEAR WHEN WE HAVE A PANDEMIC. IT MAKES NO SENSE. And so she got nervous and went and got somebody else who said it's just company policy, I've been to build a bear since I was little, that has never been a thing. I went less than a year ago and even then the boys got to carry their bears out, and also why waste a bag when I'm just gonna throw it out the minute I leave. So I take the bear from Daniel and give it to her, it takes her 5 minutes to put 1 bear in the bag, another 5 minutes to get Finns in his bag, and the screamed the entire tim. I also had to remind her to give me the birth certificates. I don't like to complain, usually I hold my tongue and I'm polite. But Build-A-Bear Workshop, you lost a lifelong customer today because I will never be returning after my experience today. Wow, what an obnoxious retail experience! It would have been excellent, but unfortunately, the manager on duty- (young pale woman, black hair, snarky, sarcastic, and far too jaded to be working this job) chose to get super rude with us at checkout because I didn't want to give an email address or buy a coupon for future shopping. Because I was already feeling way overextended to spend over $50 on a stuffy (yeesh!) I opted out. She proceeded to essentially SHAME me in front of my child saying in a highly sarcastic tone (while laughing) "Ooooh, you'll be back. They always are. I'm SURE you'll use it, you might not think so now etc. etc." Her attitude was basically- you're going to do what I say because there is no way you'll let your kid down. Addict. I should thank this woman for the opportunity to teach my daughter a valuable lesson. We will NOT be bullied. Not by other kids, not by snotty little mall employees, and not by mega million dollar corporations who push addictive products. I WALKED OUT without the bear we so lovingly built, my daughter did suffer a temporary heart break, but I'd rather this than spend $50-60 bucks on an experience that is not a good one. Make no mistake young lady- the product is THE EXPERIENCE it's not the damn bear. And if the only way you can make your bonus is to push your damn coupon- girl do better. My suggestion to this store is to cut the dead weight, and let this very tired girl free to pursue a career more in tune with her ethics (which as you so clearly explained to me is not driving the BRAND you have so much disdain for). Give the other woman a promotion- she was awesome and so sweet with my daughter I actually felt teary at one point. As for parents- spend your $50 on some felt, buttons, and thread and make your own DIY workshop at home You could make 15 bears at that price. Spare your child of becoming a BAB junkie and draining your bank account. This company is not looking out for your young people. Makes perfect sense except that at this location by 11:00 am we were told here is your $15 coupon because we plan to release more stock for people this afternoon so they have a chance as well. All of us were like so you are not out of product and you are holding product yet we have waited at least two hours and some over 4 hours. While supplies last works perfect if you actually uphold that policy. Again total fiasco. read more

My daughter loves this place. The last time we were there she made a troll doll with a matching hair piece. My husband, who happens to be bald, looked really good in the pink troll hair piece. They went straight to the Troll movie with her new troll doll in tow. I really like that the employees are interactive with the kids. They do try and sell you anything under the sun that might go along with a bear, like scents? I don't even get that. I just say no thanks and move on. But we will definitely be back. read more

Worst experience ever at Build a Bear ... took an hour and thirty minutes to get through the lines. They were hosting the boys of leather which was a complete disaster with people in leather with inappropriate patches on there leather vest. The management should have thought this through before allowing this event to take place on a busy holiday weekend and asked that appropriate attire be worn in front of children. read more

We went to a birthday party here and the employee (Allie) who hosted it was terrible. She was very awkward with the group of 3 and 4 year olds and her instruction felt like she was yelling the entire time. She seemed flustered, irritated and annoyed. At one point I handed her a tag from clothing that she had forgotten to collect to ring up and she rudely said to me "Oh now you're choosing a different outfit?!" I said no, this is the original outfit we chose. She said "no you had the dress!" I pointed out that she was confusing us with another child who had the same bear in our group. When she realized that it was her mistake she didn't apologize but just sighed and talked to herself under her breath saying "oh phew". She rolled her eyes while handing out bags for the bears and expressed frustration at the 3 and 4 year olds because they didn't recall if they had chosen a pink or blue bag. She forgot the words to the birthday song at the end and the other employees had to remind her what to say. Aside from this experience, I think it's a fun concept. I would just make sure if you book something here that you request a different employee as your host. read more
