This was a custom piece that was heavy gold and a large cluster of diamonds measuring 7/8 in. By 3/4 inches . It was not a cookie cutter mass produced ring. I stand by my statement.

The woman who answered the phone was curt and unpleasant from the second she picked up. Rather than answering my questions, she immediately became condescending and started explaining how watch batteries work--which wasn't what I had asked. I then asked whether they guarantee their work. Instead of answering professionally, she responded in a tone that made it seem like I had asked a ridiculous question: "Of course we stand by our work." Since that didn't actually answer what I meant, I clarified by asking what the warranty on the battery replacement was. Her response? In an even nastier tone: "We don't warranty our batteries. No one does that." That statement turned out to be completely false. Their quoted price was $65 just for a battery replacement, so I called a few other reputable jewelers. I ended up having the battery replaced for just over $21, and it included a two-year warranty on the battery replacement. It's one thing to charge a premium for exceptional service and expertise. It's another to be rude, dismissive, and confidently tell a customer that "no one" offers something that multiple competitors clearly do. Customer service starts with the first phone call, and unfortunately this establishment failed that test spectacularly. When my watches or jewelry need servicing in the future, Manfredi won't even be a consideration.

I decided instead to take it to Daniele (who has done great work for me in the past): he took one look at it while I waited, said the only problem was that I had jammed it by over-winding it, fixed it on the spot, and charged me nothing.
