My family had a fabulous time here! We had multi-generations playing and everyone enjoyed playing. It gave us time to collaborate and connect with each other. Great experience with the Precinct room. It was hard to solve, but not too hard here you couldn't do it. Our game person, Nicole was great! She gave us help when we needed it but wasn't too invasive. Her instructions at the beginning was very good. And her conversation at the end when we solved it was fun as well. read more

My team held our Holiday adventure here at Timed Out Escape in the Ballantyne area. Most of us were first-time Escape Room-ers. Our GameMaster, Camryn, was absolutely terrific. Without her timely guidance, we may still be locked in the Illusion Escape Room -- but we successfully escaped with 3 minutes to spare! The team wants to come back and do another Escape Room. It's a great team-building experience. We just may make this a quarterly event. read more

There was a total of 5 (3 adults, 2 teenagers) of us who attended Timed Out Escape on Saturday for a 4 PM reservation for the western room. I made the reservation last minute while we were eating brunch because our other options fell through. The reservation and payment transaction were completed in about 5 minutes via phone. I truly believe everything happens for a reason because we had an amazing time and we couldn't have asked for a better customer service experience. Chris made us feel welcomed and comfortable! He was very thorough with his explanations and he provided us with unlimited clues during the process. We felt a bit slow at times but Chris was patient and helped us get through it.Chris was very encouraging and provided us with a few accolades upon completion. The space was very clean and neat with all CDC guidelines in place. This is a small business that definitely deserves your business! So much fun and great for kids and adults. One of the best things about this place is that all of their rooms are private which means if your group doesn't meet the max, it's okay. They do not allow others to join your room which could potentially make things awkward knowing that you have to solve puzzles with people you don't know. My soon-to-be 12 year old son wanted to do an escape room with his friends for his birthday and Timed Out made everything easy. I called to inquire about private rooms and booked online; no minimum payments required just because I was bringing a group. Super convenient! And upon arrival, I paid for the additional kids. They did Illusion and were able to do the room by themselves without me in there. Chris was their game master and not only was he patient, the boys told me he made it fun and he gave them extra time. I was with another adult and my 8 year daughter and we ended up doing the West room with Amber as our game master. It was SUPER fun! We laughed, got stumped, was surprised, startled, and just had an awesome time working together figuring out clues and unlocking things. The West room kept you going in multiple rooms and of course we were able to get help from Amber with unlimited clues. This was my third escape experience and I'm usually the one watching everyone work. This time, I had to go all in. Be ready for suspenseful moments. We made it with 25 seconds to spare! read more

We booked a room for a group assignment we needed to do for a leadership class. I had never done an escape room before and we kind of jumped into the deep end with their hardest room, but our game master was excellent. She walked us through everything we would need to know before we went in, helped us out when we needed a nudge and made it a great experience. I would highly recommend them. read more

Awesome experience. My wife and I have done a lot of escape rooms so took on west by ourselves. Well done room with A lot of fun puzzles. More of a beginner room for 4 but perfect for 2 veterans. Carlos was our game master and did a wonderful job. I like the nudge concept so we never got frustrated on a puzzle. Will be back with friends to try the other rooms. read more

This was our first escape room experience, and we were not disappointed. We have an 11 and 13 year old and did the western themed one. The room decorations were really well done. We managed to finish in time but it was not too easy. We had a really great time. The staff was incredibly friendly, and Brandon did an excellent job as cluemaster. First time trying an escape room and we had so much fun! With our friends and 9 year old son, and being a first timer, we didn't want to go to the ones with sound effects or anything that can be too scary for the kids and the west room was a perfect choice. Our gamemaster Brandon was very helpful and made sure we had fun without getting stuck! I definitely recommend Timed Out escape room for families with kids. With a few different rooms at various difficulty levels, it will also be great for experienced adults who like to be challenged!! read more

Timed out is the 3rd company that I've done an escape room with and this is by far the best one I've done. They have a couple of rooms for both beginners and for more experienced players. What's really nice about timed out is they aren't focused on how fast you can get out but are more focused on giving you an overall great experience. The rooms they have are some of the most high tech escape rooms I've been in and the themes are really cool. The escape rooms feel more like stories that you become apart of and the design of the rooms really help you feel immersed in the experience. Chris C was our game master and he did a great job with my team. Not only was he really helpful when he saw we were stuck but he was also really funny and kind. Overall I had a blast and would highly recommend you try their escape rooms. 10 out of 10 would do again! read more

We went last Saturday and didn't have reservations but when we walked in Tina was super accommodating and set us right up to go into the west room. There were only two of us and it was the easier of the two rooms they currently have. The actual room is more like three rooms which was super cool and everything was super clean and worked correctly like it was supposed to. The clues were just hard enough that we needed help but not so hard it was frustrating. Tina immediately gave us help when we needed it and we escaped with plenty of time! I've done a few escape rooms and so far this has been my absolute favorite! I can't wait to go back with a bigger group and try out the other one they have and the two they are currently working on. On top of the room being super fun the owners were so helpful and actually spent time talking with us about the rooms they have and showing us a little bit of what goes on behind the scenes. So awesome. It's also nice cause there are restaurants right next door so you can make a whole night out of it. 5/5 would recommend! read more

I have done escape rooms at a few places in Charlotte and I have to say that Timed Out so far has been my favorite. The room was challenging and the story definitely added to the immersion of the room. There was a mix of obvious and challenging puzzles which definitely made the room more exciting. Our game master Spencer was super helpful and friendly! I will definitely be back to not only finish the room we did not beat, but also do all the others as well! read more
