We purchased our Campania Moderne fountain online and our landscapers installed it, but it wasn't holding water properly due to a faulty stopper. Well what can't I say about Matt at Timeless Ponds. I can sum it up with a "knowledgeable, friendly business man" I was trying to get an old fountain working, the darn thing was so heavy I couldn't handle the job myself. I found Timeless Ponds and their good ratings through Yelp, they were quick to respond to my request for a quote, after providing Matt with more info and some fotos, Matt explained how to do the job with ease and not having to move the heavy mid section to replace the pump...I wasn't thinking outside of the box until Matt took the time to explain how to get the job done. I was quite pleased to learn I could do the job myself, he did give me a very reasonable quote which was a good value, but I accepted the challenge to do the job with Matt's great instructions. We called Matt today with a problem we've been having with our fountain, one that another vendor had said would take $1100 to fix. He came over this afternoon, diagnosed the problem and fixed it in a short time. He charged us just $125 for his time and materials (he had to reconfigure some existing hoses and secure them properly -something the other vendor failed to do). he left the fountain and work site clean and tidy and did it all with a good attitude. Matt is great! I first called him 2 years ago to fix my pond's pump and clean out the koi pond. His response was fast. I called other recommended pond companies with no answer (I called, left messages, sent emails...nothing) Matt, on the other had called me back in minutes. He and his crew did a great job totally cleaning my pond and installed a new pump. Today, this last week, my old filter was leaking (20 years old) and Matt's associate, Alejandro quickly installed it, making sure the plumbing worked and no leaking. Originally, I had an issue with the pump to my fountain, the fountain lights not working, water loss, as well as needing a cleaning. I thought Timeless Ponds was going to come through for me and do the work I needed. Matt gave me an estimate for the work but also suggested I make sure that the pump was receiving power. It turned out to be a circuit breaker issue. But, I still needed help with the other problems. I let Matt know that I didn't need a new pump anymore but still needed the rest. After communicating with him, he decided it wouldn't be worth his time to help me. The problem was that he gave a bad estimate. The estimate was not accurately reflective of the cost of the work. So taking the pump replacement out of the equation meant the job was at a loss for them. Giving an accurate estimate the first time solves that problem. Secondly, I understand that businesses need to make money. For instance, I recently hired a company that required a minimum charge to even do work. I offered to pay Matt more to make it worth his time and he didn't even bother responding back to me. I ended up hiring another company and paying them roughly three times what Matt was going to charge based on the estimate.
