It's no longer wheelchair accessible, with large machines that employees can't and won't move blocking entrances. This isn't acceptable. We planned a happy and accessible group celebration for a birthday and only found out about this new layout change blocking our family member from entering the arcade today. Came for a special "Nick Arcade" event. Since this was first time at the arcade I was really excited to give it a try. The place is really awesome with wall to wall games like pinball, skee ball, and driving games. The atmosphere is pretty cool the building has the the game theme in and out. I liked that they movies projecting on the the wall and the free play juke box. The staff is friendly and the place clean. I also liked the BYOB hours, really fun and the open parking. I hated the joint bathroom, I'm a pretty progressive person and it even weirded me out. I stayed in the stall until the gentleman stopped using the urinal. I hope they can fix that! read more

We have been here in the past and it was a lot of fun. This visit was horrible. Pinball not working and many classic video games had poor screen quality. The deciding point for the one star was when they started mopping the floor with some sort of cleaner that made it impossible for me to breathe. Will not waste my time here. I would like to try out the York location to see if it is any better. So sad that this was how I decided to spend my birthday this year. read more

I wanted to love Timeline Arcade. I came here with my dad (60s) and my 14-year-old sister last Sunday afternoon, and we planned to stay for an hour. It seemed like a pretty good deal for $10 each. My dad hoped for some pinball games from the 60s and 70s but was told from the gentleman in the game store on the first floor that they only have pinball games from the 80s and younger. That's fine, there were still tons of pinball games! There was ski ball, several versions of pac man, racing games, a dance game like DDR, and many game consoles, including Nintendo and Wii. My sister was most excited about playing Wii games, and I wanted to play the DDR game. Unfortunately, we wasted about 10 minutes trying to figure out how to get to the Wii game because there was an error message. The worker came over and said she would try to fix it while we played other games. Unfortunately, we never got to play any Wii games because she later informed us that Nintendo was performing a system update for about another half hour. We wandered around and found some other games to play. I enjoyed ski ball, several pinball games, racing games and pac man rounds. Then my sister and I tried the DDR game. It worked at first, but the level was too difficult for us so we waited for the song to end, and we changed the difficulty to easy for the next song. Then the next song never came. The screen went black. The worker reset the game and it just had codes running across the screen for the rest of the time that we were there. My dad felt like he overpaid even though it was only $10 each since those games didn't work. He had experiences with other games while we were there that didn't work correctly as well that I do not recall, so it was a disappointing experience. The worker tried to be helpful, but I think she should have offered to extend our time since a lot of our time was spent interacting with non-working games. I have been to other retro arcades that had their games in working order whenever I was there, so I was surprised by my experience at Timeline Arcade. read more

This is the best arcade I've seen in a long while! Huge selection of games, many vintage from the 80's and 90's. All the machines were in good, if not great condition. About 15-20 different pinball machines too. If you want to be thrown back in time to your youth, this place will surely take you there! We took a trip from Harrisburg to Hanover just for this place alone. It was well worth it. My boyfriend and I love pinball and each bought an all day pass for $25. It was money well spent! We checked in shortly before 3pm and ended up staying until 11pm. We took beer and food breaks at the local breweries and bars within walking distance. It made for a great day trip. They also allow BYOB after 7 pm. We took advantage of that and saw many similarly aged patrons doing the same. Surprisingly, you did not have to wait in line to play most games. The layout of the place was nice. It was very clean and welcoming. It would be a great place for parents to take their kids, as both could connect a bit of pop culture together. It's a family run establishment and you can tell. The staff was helpful and welcoming. We plan on returning soon! Hanover - Underwhelming. I went for the pinball. They advertise about two dozen machines - at least seven weren't working at all and three others although playable didn't work correctly. The story is similar for the the arcades. There are tons of machines - maybe 100. I only tried a few but, again, many weren't working or they weren't working properly. Also, the machines are packed tightly, making walking around difficult without messing up someones game. Finally, the person working the counter was barely helpful. Friday night was the first time I've been to Timelines new location. I've been to the old location in the mall. I was there for a Halloween event. It was a good time. Lots of old school games and some new ones. I paid $15 and that included unlimited game play, beer sampling from something wicked(Hanovers newest brew pub), and live music. The event had a good turn out. The down side of all the people was you had to wait for certain games and it got really hot inside. I would go back and take my kids next time. read more

Maybe I'm a bit spoiled by living just a few miles from another arcade, with a second one about 20 miles farther that also features an Atari hooked up to a CRT TV. With working paddles. And that's the problem here. A lot of the games are not in great condition. From twitchy flippers to randomly shutting off or sequestering balls in impossible situations, the pinball machines are only about 70% reliable. Someone had apparently stomped on the Atari paddles but no one noticed until the next day... who's watching? Who's cleaning up? The Skee ball had 5 balls in it. So this place needs to get its act together in terms of maintaining these machines. That said, I'm a big fan of having a video store underneath and of their $25 day pass with unlimited reentry. That makes it easier to socialize and take breaks from playing without watching your wallet. Oh, and BYOB nights, although good luck finding a place open that late with B you can BYO, and the under-21 presence seemed to grow and grow as the night went on (what else would you do in a town with four breweries if you're underage?). I want to give this place a better rating, so hopefully they can turn up the effort a notch. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way back home from vacation. We actually went out of our way and I'm glad we did! There are a ton of video games and pinball machines and arcade games, we only spent an hour and a half in there but I easily could have stayed for five more. The staff was friendly and attentive. I visited Timeline with my 4 year old son and we had a blast. It was great playing the old games I grew up playing (mostly at Dream Machine in cranberry mall). We enjoyed playing tons of classics like Space Harrier, Operation Wolf, The Simpsons, TMNT, Contra and pinball. It was row upon row of games and then there was a pinball room and a theater and another room in the back. There are larger games like multi player sit down racing and motos as well as full size basketball, skeet and game consoles.We had a blast. You dont pump quarters in like the old days however once you buy your time pass (lanyard with swiper) most games are in free mode or a simple swipe gets you going. Time goes by really fast and we were there for an hour and it was 20$ which was money well spent. I cannot wait to go back and I am so glad this is only 15 minutes from my house! read more

They have decent old school games but unfortunately many are either broken or in a state of disrepair that makes them unplayable (screen burn, monitors so dark you can't see etc..). The staff there is also remarkably bad. The machines were misconfigured to require quarters so we asked if they could take a look. We were immediately told we were wrong, they are configured correctly and we 'just aren't doing it right' because you know... a start button is complicated. The snark was palpable. When Hailey finally put her phone down long enough to check and find out we weren't actually idiots, realizing the machines weren't configured right we got an amazing high school sigh because working in an arcade is clearly the modern day equivalent of coal mining. This happened twice. You would think after the first time she looked foolish she would have maybe realized the *exact same problem* on a different machine was within the realm of possibility, but nope. That logic jump never occurred and she was forced to walk fifteen feet then use a key with another dramatic sigh. Save your money and just grab the games online. read more

I went to Timeline Arcade for the first time during their Halloween costume party event. It was a blast! The arcade has a good selection of retro games and pinball machines. The Skee-ball machine is definitely my favorite. They also have a few consoles, old and new, and a selection of games for those as well. The space is pretty packed with machines so it was a little difficult to navigate around the place when it was crowded. That's my only complaint though. It's a great place to take the kids and have some fun. I will definitely be going back and I can't wait for the next event. read more

Eight pinball games and a plethera of video entertainments to choose from, as well as air hockey. A classic old style arcade which seems to be a disappearing beast nowdays. I only get out to Timeline a few times a year and always get their $25 All Day. They are fantastic deals that make the pilgrimage from Maryland totally worth it. I love their selection of titles in both arcade and pinball. The TV area with classic consoles hooked up is a fun touch. The whole vibe and feel of the place really strokes my 90s youth nostalgia and I will spend a solid 8 hours there every trip without batting an eye. The special events I have attended were all great. Unfortunately, it's not all groovy. The upkeep of the machines is a bit spotty. I know that one day they will all just give up the ghost and stop working and there's nothing that can prevent it but that really isn't an excuse for the occasional visit where a large percentage of the games aren't just working, none of the light guns are calibrated, and every fourth card reader isn't taking the swipe. Either they need another dedicated repair tech or something. While a visit like that isn't the norm, they have happened a few times and that keeps them, tragically, on four stars. I really do love Timeline Arcade and I will be a patron as long as they or I are still around. read more

This place keeps me coming back to Pennsylvania from Maryland. I love this location! I pay $25 for all day pass if I don't have anything else major planned for the day. I love playing pinball...old nintendo games on the console..Killer Instinct. I just wished they swapped the DDR to this location from York instead of that Korean dance game. Timeline provides a lot of older games. I know they focus on the retro..but I hope one day they get some new arcade games. I'd love to play a newer Tekken there. Timeline did have a large selection of retro games as many of the other reviews state. However, many of those games were in need of maintenance, which made them unplayable. Problems noted during my visit were unresponsive joysticks/buttons, poor screen resolutions or screen flicker, and panels being held shut with duct tape. The Timeline facility also seemed very cramped. There are a lot of games in a small amount of space, and had it been busier the night I visited it would have been very uncomfortable. Additionally, it smelled like smoking was sometimes allowed in the building, and the restroom is coed. TL;DR: Lots of games, but don't expect them all to be in working order, and be comfortable with tight quarters. read more

Really nice selection of titles and tons of fun to be had if you were an arcade dweller in the past. The only real downside I would say is pricing. If you are a parent and have multiple children you will spend allot of money. I find it unreasonable that there is no discounted rate for children. No matter what the age you pay the same price and that can be very expensive. Before I took my entire family I had been there once before in the past, but only because it was $5.00 for the entire day and I wanted to check the place out. I had an awesome time so obviously I wanted to go back so I brought the family. Now, I have four kids all different ages so I figured like most places that there would be some sort of reduced rate for a large group, or a reduced rate for small children. Have been coming to this place for about 5 years.. we make a trip out of it and drive two hours. When it first opened it was really cool they would have events and i mean it's such a throwback to the past. I want to preface my review by saying I understand some of these games are upwards of 40 years old, it's hard to maintain them and hard to find parts. I fully understand this but at this point I feel like they aren't even trying. We went yesterday, I called and asked about the condition of the machines (thinking things would have been repaired as the whole country has been closed for 3 months) I was told they just got a new repair tech and things are getting repaired frequently. Honestly probably half the machines were broken, no gun game had both guns working, pinball machines constantly erroring or broken flippers, screens not working, I mean it was almost everything. Skee Ball and basketball were fun but they were down, or so I thought, I was told "they removed the scoring system to make them free"... dumbest thing I've ever heard, like what kind of logic is this.. they used to have a card system like dave and busters but they removed this cause i dont know why... but now a lot of the machines need credits so you need to flag down someone working there. Heres the real kicker, it was 90 degrees and the AC was NOT WORKING, i was covered in sweat all day, the kid working there was super nice and I get it was not his fault but we were not told about this ahead of time, I asked to just do hourly instead of a day pass and I was told well you already paid for the day. It was borderline dangerous with the heat in there. I have contacted the owner before, he sent me a sticker and a pin... I'm not looking for free stuff here, I just don't think anyone gives a shit anymore and it shows. I still need to give it three stars cause its a retro arcade and WAS a great one, I just wish they would upkeep it even a little bit. I would love to hear from the owner honestly, but he didn't take my last inquiry very seriously. read more

This place is not what it advertises. Dark and dirty on the second floor of an otherwise abandoned building. Looks like some guys basement hobby not an actual business. Staff is unhelpful and the whole place seems shady. Not a place id feel comfortable taking my kids. read more
