SIMPLY UNBELIEVABLE!!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I've been here before a few years back for a group outing and had no issues. Not this time! I called 2 weeks in advance to reserve a table for 12 downstairs in the sports bar area and two lanes for bowling afterwards. We arrived at 5:30pm on time and waited until 7pm to get our food which came out a couples plates at a time. Our group was not served our meals together so some sat and waited while others were able to eat. Waited almost 2 hours for salads, chicken fingers/fries and tacos! They were totally out of chicken breast! Some food was hot some was Luke warm/close to cold. Tacos were served with no lettuce, tomatoes or sour cream/salsa. Chicken fingers served without the fries. They had ONE person working the bar, alleys, pool table areas and food tables. Drinks are Overpriced!!! PLUS THEY HAD THE NERVE TO ADD AN AUTOMATIC 20% TIP. SERIOUSLY!!! Called the next day to complain to management and all she did was throw her staff under the bus. Blamed everything on them. WOW! NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

Not too busy but there was a good variety of games to play. We visited twice this week to use up the game card we bought. A few things to note... connect 4 needs new basketballs as they are disintegrating into leather dust in the game, and the Simpson pinball game needs to be fixed (right top flipper broken and the display screen is broken so you can't see your score. Met family here to celebrate my granddaughters birthday, How disappointing... bowling went well but had to go to bar to order anything, even though we were told they were coming to take our order, after 10-15 minutes we went to the bar. Food was mediocre, place needed a good cleaning and service was terrible. Could've lived with it, but got the bill, it was just shy of $200!! Haven't been here in forever... and MAN has this place gone in the toilet! Half the games don't work. No staff present. Tried the little "mini bowling" (not sure what the actual game is), upstairs... the left side is smashed all to hell, and the right side "works" kinda... but no front pin! Sooo... no strikes for us. Dingy, and horrible. If we didn't have a ton of credits on our card (have a walk through BEFORE you buy the card/credit), we'd NEVER COME BACK. Don't come here. My best friends husband wanted to come here for his birthday. The four of us had never been here before but was always curious to check it out. We will never return. We wanted to have our meal and some drinks before playing in the arcade. We walked into the bar/restaurant and waited for someone to greet us. We ended up having to ask the bartender if we could sit anywhere. So we found a booth to sit at. The top of the table was lifting up and you could feel it tacky underneath. There are tvs at each table but they barely work. Our server finally came over and gave us menus and took forever to return. So we were ready to order our food and drinks when she returned. We ordered our food, my besties husband ordered a Yuengling draft and my husband ordered a water and a Manhattan, a drink they had featured in their menu. The server then asked for our credit cards. We thought it was strange that she asked for them so early but assumed they run the card to start a tab and then she would return them. She returned with his water, my soda and the besties soda. The beer came about 15 minutes later. Pretty sure it was not a Yuengling. So I asked if she had returned our cards and she said "no we keep the cards on file". My besties husband became very assertive and told her "no, you are not holding our cards, you're not allowed to do that. We want our cards returned to us NOW!" The servers response was very defensive stating they have told hold on to cards because people walk out without paying and then she's responsible for settling the bill herself. We had to beg her to return the cards. We even asked for the manager. The manager never showed but she did reluctantly give us our cards back. The food took an hour to reach us. We were the only ones sitting in the restaurant when we ordered. Food was subpar. My husband never received his Manhattan. He pointed that out to the server and she looked completely clueless. So he ordered an Angry Orchard draft. She returned with two Yuenglings. We finally just asked for our bill, telling her each couple was paying separately. When we got the bill, it was not separately properly. My husband and I just decided to pay for our friends stuff that was on our bill rather than try to get this server to understand anything. She was the only server and there was only one bartender. We did play games afterwards and that was fun, no issues there. That's the only reason why I feel okay giving one star. read more

Had to receive help numerous times for stuck tickets, ticket machine not working , etc. even then still had to wait to find an employee. Went to have dinner in the Arena Restaurant before a Paintnite event. I stood there by the "hostess will seat you" sign for at least 5 minutes before anyone even acknowleged me. There was no one in the restaurant and about 5 people at the bar. I was seated eventually and I ordered a water and asked if they had a certain beer on tap which the waitress told me they did not have. She later came back and said they did have it. I ordered the Pittsburgh steak salad which was made with fresh ingredients but the flavor was just ok. The steak had no flavor at all and was cooked more rare than medium rare like I ordered. The salad was m definitely not worth the $14 price tag...not in quality or quantity. I would not eat here again. The Coliseum itself was a nice arcade that was colorful and looked like they had some fun games. The bar area downstairs is nice. If I could give 0 stars I would....first no one at the counter to buy a game card....then half the games scan and then don't work....finally we play a few games. Think we can grab some food, go ask someone if we wait to be seated or seat ourselves. She says seat yourself. We pick a table someone comes over to bring us menus, I ask for 4 waters....sit at the table for 15mins to no water and no one around to even go over to the bar....we left since it's terrible service and terrible games. read more

The only thing good about this place is some of the staff. Ordered loaded nachos. No onion and no tomato at all. Sour cream and salsa served in 1 oz soufflé cup. There were way too many chips for what you got and I guess the chips were supposed to make it look like it's a great deal for $12. This is some thing I'd expect to see at Taco Bell. Will NEVER go back. We got two lanes for bowling and after one game, one we couldn't finish on the other lane as it broke, we were discounted for one lane and our shoe fee not charged. This was horrible.. we waited for 15 minutes for someone to come fix our lane while we played on the other lane that requires a reset after EVERY frame.. the place was dirty and the server never came over to us. No one checked to see how we were doing and no one came to fix our lane. Crooks! We did even play an hour of bowling.. we barely played one ONE game.. Upstairs is just as overwhelmingly disgusting,, most games are broken and there is no one on the floor to help.. poor guy behind the counter was on his second day and left to fend for himself.. manager was no where to be found after we lost our money in 5 games! Took the family to play the arcade for the daughters birthday, some of the games were down, the games we tried to play that were operational, either didn't function correctly (time crisis light gun no where near calibrated, air hockey table pick would barely glide) or would take our credits and never register. finally found an employee and I asked to speak to a manager and explained the situation. even the employee knew most of the games were acting up and apologized multiple times. management walked up to the counter with a case of chicken wings, set them on the counter, and said " I can fix those issues. " I told him I just wanted my money back. $100 play voucher and after using about 60 of the 1000 credits, losing over 100 credits to non functioning games, management gave me $75 back. was once a nice place to go a few years back, but my family will never be returning read more

My husband and I had a lot of fun here! We started by playing a few rounds of bowling and enjoyed some sweet Thai chili boneless wings and sweet potato fries (the food was pretty good!). They did a good job at making sure all the stations had hand sanitizer. My husband and I also played a few rounds of billiards. Overall I'd say this was a Sunday afternoon well spent. read more

The servers were rude and they ignored us. They also ignored other people of color too. We had to wait over 30 minutes for a server to come before we decided to leave. This place is overseen a lot, it has a nice sized arcade with reasonable prices. On the floor below they have a mid sized bowling alley with a full sized bar next to it. Customer service is okay, they are very friendly but they are very short staffed. read more

Absolutely Awful! First time back after a few years. Called ahead to reserve a lane, no chance of that, they don't reserve. The service at the basement bar was terribly slow. The bartender had air pods in and had literally no urgency in any movement, it was painfully slow. Crown and water cocktail was clear, couldn't even taste the spirit. I should've read the reviews before I had my son's party here. Our party was scheduled for 12:15 pm and when we arrived the doors were locked. There was no one at the bowling counter to give us our shoes. The hostess was busy with another party and couldn't handle both parties. When we finished bowling and went to the party room it took an hour and fifteen minutes for our pizzas to arrive. Half the games in the arcade are broken or turned off. When I got my bill they charged 21% gratuity for the entire party-not just the food. The website says nothing about extra gratuity! I would've tipped but DEFINITELY NOT 21%!! It's really a shame how dirty and unkempt this place has become. The staff was very friendly, but the floors were sticky and littered with dropped food. The bathrooms were in a similar state -- used paper towels all over the floor and an overflowing trash can. We enjoyed bowling for the most part, except that some buttons didn't work. I enjoyed the games, even though they were expensive. My son had a great time--and that is what matters. The environment is nice. Contains lounge style bowling, full bar, pool table, arcade games, and large screen tvs to watch the game. The service was terrible. We waited 30 mins before our server greeted us. I had to go up and ask for drinks and menus before she came over. She saw that we were sitting in the booth, but took her time chatting with another worker. She did apologize for us waiting so long and her excuse was that she was the only one on. The restaurant wasn't that packed and a majority of the people were eating at the bar. Once we got our food, service was still slow. The only time it was quick was when we asked for the check. Our waitress looked as if she didn't care. Food was your typical bar food. We ordered the Pittsburgh burger, wings, and nachos. It is pretty pricey for what you get. I wouldn't mind coming back again to play video games. I wished they had a bit more variety. Central PA's sad version of Dave and Buster's. As if Dave and Buster's wasn't bad enough as is - Harrisburg has their own version. Lots of beer on tap, the prices are not great, and most of the beer on tap are things you can find anywhere/everywhere else. Steep liquor prices. The food, average at best. It had been about 10 hours since my last meal and even then I considered the food average at best. This place truly did very little for me and unless another event with some friends is going on, I doubt I'll return. read more

Very disappointing. Arrived for a 6:30 reservation, took some time to get our party of nine seated. Got seated (there were plenty of open tables) and eventually the bartender came over and gave us menus. Told us that our server would be over to help us shortly. Placed our orders around 6:50 along with beverages. Appetizer (one of them) got to the table around 7:30. Many apologies from the server as to how long the food was taking. Other tables around us did not have food, which was a bad omen. Two hours after we ordered, the food came. Overall, completely below average. Member of our party found a hair in her french fries, and even after all that time, fries were less than fresh. Dry wings were packed with seasoning so much that they were inedible. The lemon pepper wings could stand to be rinsed off and the maple smoked were basically packed with a bottle of seasoning that I still haven't been able to scent off of my hands a day later. Really feel as though the kitchen failed on a number of levels. Huge menu that really had some potential. Long wait time for food and sub-par presentation really hurt the experience. I understand that were there for a leisurely dinner while the kids have plenty of time to play games, but two hours for food was ridiculous. Never saw a manager, nobody. I don't come to a bowling alley expecting to eat top notch food, or have a bartender juggle jack Daniels while setting mixed drinks on fire. It a mini Dave and busters. The point of this place is to spend your money pointlessly, just to have fun. Overall, They have a diverse menu as long as you know it's a small step up from bar food. They offer a full bar, a seperate restaurant, party room, Lazer tag, black light bowling lounge, arcade and lots of flat screens. Checked in on 3/9/2016. As a bowling place, The Coliseum is decent. It's not the best, it's ok. There's no music suited for a game day out. They have a new carpet since my last visit. Software on the TV monitor was frequently getting stuck in one of the lanes. We had rented 4 lanes (office outing), so 3 lanes finished faster and had to wait for the 4th lane to finish. Moreover it was annoying to call for someone to come and fix the program. I felt the ambiance could have been sportier. We were the only ones bowling at that time, so the service was acceptable. After bowling we ate dinner in their restaurant. I would not rate the food more than 2 stars. There was a strange taste to the food, felt to me like plastic or frozen stuff. read more

Absolutely wretched experience. Place is nice and has lots of potential and is HUGE but management/ownership decided to staff the ENTIRE facility with ONE poor dude on a packed Good Friday afternoon. That's right--one hapless man to get you the shoes, work the arcade, collect money, try to fix the always breaking down lanes. We had a party of 10 and our lane failed 5 times during ONE match, and we had to delay turns for 10 minutes at worst. That's a 0 out of 10 experience and there was no apology, no discount given. Bathroom out of paper and unattended. Total bush league operation. Update--saw the manager on the way out after writing this--she vowed to refund my sister's money--if she does, I will post an upgraded review. read more

I want to love this place more but its just not quite there for me. I love the whole concept like a Dave and Busters where there are games and food and drink all under one roof. The Coliseum is great but just not quite right. So next to the Coliseum is the What if West Restaurant and bar. That's more of an upscale dining choice. When you walk into the Coliseum part you go right into the arcade area and party rooms. Downstairs is the dining, bowling alley, and pool tables. So far so good. I've been there for a party and the kids had a blast but the games are so expensive and its hard to get a decent amount of tickets and even if you do the prizes are awful. Now I get that arcades are never great prizes but geez you spend so much money to play these games and walk out with a tub of slime from the dollar store. The stuff just feels cheap. And the claw machine toys...Oh man I beg my kids to stay away from claw machines but they love them and they do win. Well the toys they win here I wouldn't want for free! They're the cheapest things ever with fuzz busting out. Its comical. The bowling is fine, the kids tried it at a party once. On to the food. The last time we went there it was just my husband, me, and my kids and we sat down for lunch before we played. My husband got a cheesesteak and I got a burger. The burger was not bad, the fries and the chips are where they lost me. They were house made which I was so excited about. But they were so super greasy. And they tasted like old oil. So gross. The kids enjoyed their kids meals though I forget what they had lol. The thing that was crazy to me is the bill was almost $50. My husband and I each had one beer and our sandwiches, the kids their kids meals, and $50? Plus it wasn't $50 quality. Then to go upstairs and spend about $30 to get some slime and a paper fan, we left $80 poorer and nothing to write home about. I say this a lot and I'll say it again. I really have NO problem spending money when I get some good food and a good experience. I'll take one or the other. But when I spend a decent amount of money and leave feeling like eh. I don't feel like I want to rush back. Now I'd like to see things improve and I'd definitely be one of their best customers. I have been here twice: once for a 40th birthday party and once for Paint Nite. The pizza at the birthday was your typical arcade pizza and there was also veggies, nachos, and wings. We had a private room off the arcade area. As someone who doesn't frequent the arcade often, the games were fun but I would've like to see more. It was a crowded night. I was in the same room for the painting event, and this time it was really warm. We opened the outside door to get some air, but then we could smell cigarette smoke from outside. It was a good space for the painting because the arcade door blocked most of the noise. read more

When we first got there, the service was slow. It took us about 10 minutes before anyone even came out behind the bar to serve us. We went there strictly for bowling and come to find out the people that work here are complete assholes. Me and my boyfriend cannot bowl very well and we're using the bumpers as a guide to help us get better, and we asked the worker if we could put the bumpers up he strictly told us that they are only for kids and adults should not need them. Which immediately was a red flag for me because they help me out quite a bit but as we were looking around the basement where the bowling is, we had looked over towards the bar and saw that apparently in this establishment you have to be 20 to drink not 21. The entire building had a nasty smell to it, and not to mention the fact that some thing in that establishment had to of been molding because I have a mold allergy and all I was doing with sniffling the entire time we were there. And apparently, if you order food when bowling, they will automatically add a 15% gratuity to your tab no matter how good or bad their services you will be tipping them no matter what read more

After being stacked by the door entering, we found that you need a credit card type thing to play games. The machines that dispense the cards were either broken or turned off. Guy working the counter was awfully busy talking on the phone to assist us. After calling us over to the counter while we were walking away we got a game card. I had no idea what the guy was saying but ultimately I was charged $11 for a $10 game card. The arcade games are quite dated and I'm fairly certain there haven't been updated at all since the place opened years ago. We then went downstairs to bowl for a bit. There was no one at the bowling counter for a few minutes. After the guy finally showed he told us that we pay after bowling and we were on lane 1, but the lanes weren't numbered. The house bowling balls were damaged and need replaced, it was like Flintstone bowling they were so rough. The environment was fair and everything was clean but service is awful. There was nobody at the bar so we couldn't get served drinks. A waitress later asked if we wanted something from the bar. We didn't get our drinks until we were nearly done bowling. Long story short of this place is that it's a cool concept and idea for an entertaining night but their lack of service and effort makes it awful. read more

We got here early to decorate and had to wait until they figured everything out. Everyone showed up before we even had the party set up. When we are they didn't give us napkins or any trash cans. The last time I went to this place I was a freshman in high school to hang out at the arcade. From what I remembered it was pretty fun and they had a cool bar and bowling downstairs. I am now 25 and I convinced about 8 of my friends to go bowling there last night on Cinco de Mayo and it was the worst experience we have ever had going bowling, which we do frequently all over the area. We were on lanes 5 and 6 and lane 6 had to be reset or worse, the guy would have to run down the lane and rack the pins himself almost every turn. Lane 5 also had reset issues and it seemed like they hadn't been waxed in a month. When we asked to move over to lane 7 he said that lane 7 was broken. Since yesterday was graduation at PSU we were all exhausted and our friend who had been up since 5am and wasn't drinking at all had her head back and was dozing while we were bowling and they tried to kick us out for her being drunk when she was literally just sitting there- she hadn't even been at the bar. Speaking of the bar, the only drink they didnt mess up was bottled beer. Every drink was either way over or under poured and didnt even taste like what it was supposed to. We had lemon drop shots, Dirty Shirley's, and a screwdriver and all were tiny, felt watered down and absolutely disgusting. ABC East has a much better atmosphere and bar. Very professional over there. Not so much at the Coliseum. Last but not least, when we went to pay for the 19 games we all played they couldn't split the payment at all. All $111.50 was forced to be out on the same card and even after everyone found money and we calculated how much everyone owed individually they guy couldn't split the payment between cash and card. In short- DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY THERE The place looks cool but they have horrible employees, bad systems, inferior quality games and bowling and it's just a sad situation. It has alot of potential and I would want to go all the time but the owners really cheap out. They seem to care more about how much they have there and spending money on the outside of the building than the quality of all their events. Do not go here. They don't even know how to make proper pizza. The buffalo chicken dip looked like puke and the pretzel bites that are supposed to come with it were just dumped in there and therefore really soggy. The waitress was very rude and didn't really care about her customers at all. I don't know what they think they're doing in the kitchen but it has nothing to do with cooking. Trust the reviews and avoid this place. We went upstairs to the "arcade" and you can only load your card with cash. When we started to play, the machines didn't dispense any tickets even though it said we won 20. Last night was our 3rd visit here. Our first was in July of 08 and we couldn't have been happier with everything about The Coliseum. Great menu and a nice equivalent to a Dave and Busters without the drive. Shoot forward to Oct. of 09 and the place looks the same but that's where everything else stopped. A once 4 page menu is down to a single sheet of paper with some pretty terrible selections on it. Our server was terrible, no bartender on staff in the restaurant, and slow service even though we were one of three tables in the entire place. One more try last night led to more of the same, this time one of two tables, forgotten food, and at 8 p.m. the manager closed the main doors and roped off the entrance. Talk about feeling rushed. Our waitress decided to add a 18% gratuity to our check for good measure as well? Classy. I'll be going in again but simply because I spent money on a game card that now has $20 on it, I'll take my daughter for some games, but we'll be skipping any dinner at what once was a nice place to eat. read more
