Dr. Gernhart and her team is the absolute best! We travel from Street, MD to Timonium to make sure our pup has the best care! The team at TAH treats my dog like it is their own. The tech met him as a pup, remembers him by name and even can recall the first appointment we had together -- his puppy orientation. I am especially thankful for the care they demonstrated to my latest Goldendoodle as neared the end of his life (and compassion they showed to me and my family). Nice enough but not for me. There was only one vet tech that was good with our pups and she was amazing. But all three stars are for her ( i wish I renter name because she deserves a raise!) But outside of that I was underwhelmed. I mean, even the actual veterinarian seemed to be intimidated by our dogs which didn't help their fear of the vet one bit. I'm sure this is a nice enough place but it's not the place for us. read more

I have been going to Timonium animal hospital for years, BUT since they moved to the new office, it's not friendly and they put you in a room with your pet and you sit there and sit there. I walked out today because we sat there for almost half an hour, it's worse than a doctors office. They schedule to many appointments a d ay for the almighty buck. read more

Our 1 year old puppy has had a few different medical issues and we have been treated great every time we have interacted with them. We will usually call and discuss issues first and they will typically recommend things we can try for free/cheap before bringing our dog in. When we bring him in the staff is very professional and takes great care of us. We usually see Dr McIntyre and she is potentially the greatest human on the planet and treats us so well. They are usually pretty busy because they have a lot of customers and not necessarily cheap because of their reputation, but the quality of care our dog receives is all worth it. read more

I rarely write reviews but I am so impressed with Dr. McIntyre and the staff at TAH and so grateful for their care of our dog that I had to share. I have tried 5 other vets in the Baltimore area and none come close to her level of care. First, she is able to put my very anxious dog at ease. Second, she starts with the least invasive and traumatic options. Third, I was able to get an appointment with her within a reasonable period when my dog was crying in pain. Other reviews mention long wait times and we did have to wait maybe 30 min. for our emergency appt. but the time that Dr. M. took with us made the wait unimportant and I have found similar wait times at other offices. I also found the prices quite reasonable, particularly when you consider I don't have to pay for unnecessary tests recommended at other practices. read more

The staff is friendly, but the whole team is not professional and try to sell you vaccines that you don't want. Told me wrong info about the cost and claimed they never have the promotion after my appointment. Took my puppy for wellness exam and two weeks later the vaccine still requires wellness exam. They just want to take your money away. read more

I am not excited to start the process of finding a new vet that can deal with my bad cat after moving states away from TAH :( All of their doctors have been phenomenal with her, but especially Dr Howard, the cat whisperer. My cat has been banned by several other vets, I've been asked if she's feral, and told not to bring her back unless she's dying. TAH handled her with finesse, even doing extensive exams without needing sedation. They are cool as a cucumber even when bad kitty is a terror. I really like that they take her in the back for everything so I don't have to see the trauma. I just went to a new vet in PA and I almost cried. read more

Dr. McMichael is the absolute best! She has taken care of our pup, Scott, for his amazing almost 13 years. Towards the end of his life, Dr. McMichael could not have been more understanding of our tears and heart broken feelings. She made every step of the way feel as easy as could be, but above all else, she never stopped putting our pups health first. She treated and looked after him as if he was her own and for that I am eternally grateful to her. The staff have always been playful with our pup and spoiled him with treats during his visits. I have used this vet for the last couple of years. The first time was to put my very ill cat to sleep because he was suffering. They were not my vet but used them for this. They were so kind and welcoming. When I got another rescue, I decided to use them. My Cat Zach had a dental cleaning and stopped breathing during the procedure as he had a benign growth that had been hurting his breathing. The doctors quick thinking saved him and a tech stayed with him until I picked him up. He is fine now and they snipped the polyp. The vets are all so competent and keep you informed including aftercare planning, and the techs are great. My only complaint is that sometimes the front desk is so busy they forget to show empathy, but are always competent. They really stepped up this time to serve my Zach. read more

We bring our three pets here to Dr. McIntyre. She is one of the best vets I have met in my life. She is so sweet with our older dog and understands how much we worry about her. She is incredibly friendly and you can see how much she loves animals in each and every interaction with her. She also did surgery for our younger dog and did a wonderful job. She has called personally to follow up on our asthmatic cat and was extremely helpful in saving us unnecessary appointments. The staff seems a little flat at times but have always been helpful in transferring our records to our dog daycare and our various animal specialist doctors. They are also usually good about calling you back in regards to prescriptions or prescription food. Would highly recommend! read more

I don't usually feel compelled to post reviews except when there is an exceptional positive experience. That sums it up for my feelings about TAH and particularly about Dr. McIntyre. I wish my doc was as kind, caring, patient, and enthusiastic to see me. We've been going there for 7 months and had dental surgery, multiple anal expressions, minor illnesses, and vaccinations. Every single time I walk away feeling good about choosing them. The vet techs and the front desk are also patient and diligent with my young dog and me. Unless there is a life threatening emergency my kitties are treated by Dr. Howard and no one else. I can't say I have a problem with the other vets that work there (I'm not familiar with most) it's just that the care Dr. H provides to my babies is above and beyond. I've recommend her to several of my friends and they have also been thrilled with her care. The staff there sometimes can be maddening to deal with. I will admit there have been a couple of times I have been there for appointments and said if I did not love Dr. Howard so much I would leave without being seen. However, I did have to make the very painful decision to put one of my cats down and the compassion the staff showed was amazing. They were so accommodating to me and my family during such a hard time. read more

I would give a zero star if I could. Not only is it one of the most expensive vets in the Greater Baltimore area, wasting someone's time and more importantly making an animal wait even longer for care, seems to be okay. I have a 16 year old cat who has been scratching at her ears. Made an appointment specifically for an ear cleaning/check and nail trim waiting a week for the apointment. Having my 4 year old grand daughter with me as I am responsible for her in the afternoons, I wrangle my cat in the carrier, listen to her cry the entire stressful ride there, only to be told a doctor needs to be present when ears are cleaned. Why wasn't I told this when scheduled? Um ... someone new scheduled you. Not my fault. How long would it have taken a doctor to look at the cat's ears. Guarantee not more than 5 minutes. Between their schedule and mine, next available was 10 days later. No thanks, called Hunt Valley Animal Hospital and have an appointment in 4 days. read more

I took my Pomeranian to Timonium Animal hospital as a puppy, and the staff was incredible through all of his tiny dog problems (and new dog parent worries). Huge shout out to Dr. Stephens! I always felt like we were getting the right care and attention. Since moving to California, I've been at a loss to find a team of vets I like as much. I was recently back in Baltimore for the holidays, and my dog needed to be treated for an infection. Dr. McIntyre was phenomenal - I really appreciated her positive attitude, compassion, and the time she took in consulting and following up with us. Highly recommend! The worst part about this hospital is that you might wait a little longer than you want once you get there, but I never mind - it's clear they are taking their time with each animal and putting emergencies first. read more

This establishment has a practiced quoting one price for services and when you go to pick up your pet , the bill is much higher. Example- was told spading my dog would be $189 .00. When I went to pick her up , I was presented a bill for $379.00 . I was told the rest of the money was for lab work. Took a cat there and was told the bill so far was $150 and they wanted to keep him overnight. The next day the bill I was presented was over $1100 on top of that they told me that were surprised he lived thru the night. I like doing business with up front people, they are not. I have taken my business elsewhere. You should too! I talked to a vet who used to work there and was told by her that it is a normal practice for them. read more

This place is outstanding. I've been taking my cat there for two years and the incredible staff have been amazing. My cat had surgery and they walked me through the whole process. Dr. McIntyre treats Edgar like her own and has gone out of her way to help him with his incontinence. I'm moving away and I'm so sad I can't continue seeing them!! read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Timonium Animal Hospital. I started taking my dogs there when we moved to the area a year and a half ago. I was extremely anxious about finding a new vet as we had moved over 800 miles. Someone recommended Timonium Animal Hospital and I am forever thankful they did. When I called to make our first appointment the receptionist suggested Dr. McIntyre. I explained that I had a dog who was nervous with strangers and would do best with someone who understood that she may not be the perfect patient. Dr. McIntyre is absolutely amazing, she is friendly, knowledgeable, caring and most of all she treats my dogs like her own. The technicians are all extremely friendly, smart, personable and are great with my dogs. I have not had a bad experience since coming here and since adding a third dog, I'm there quite frequently. As the cat-parent of a cat with warning stickers all over his file, I've been to sooo many of the vets in town. Mt Washington Animal Hospital made me sedate my cat before bringing him in, and Falls Road charged almost a thousand dollars in one visit. Then I found Dr. Howard, the cat-whisperer. I was nervous the first time we came in, more for the staff's sake than my cat's. She introduced herself to me, and then spent about 5 minutes talking just to my cat. He behaved incredibly well (for him) for the remainder of the exam. Since then we've dealt with a three-week long mystery illness with daily drop-offs and pickups (he had swallowed an almond whole and it got stuck), two more cats, and now old age with a variety of old age ailments. She continues to treat him and our other pets like family, explains everything in detail to us, and keeps my elderly cat as healthy as we could hope to have him. I've referred many people to this hospital, and specifically to Dr. Howard, and I've only had wonderful responses from all of my friends who come here. Everyone here is so nice, kind, and caring, and they really go out of their way to take care of you and your pets. read more

We just moved to the area and were extremely pleased with both of the Vets and the office staff.

These guys are fantastic. They are not my normal vet, but I've got some pretty high standards, having worked for numerous animal-based jobs, including a vet, before. I called them 20 minutes before they closed with a kitten I got yesterday: the runt of a litter, he was a street cat with no prior medical care and he is absolutely tiny. I was concerned because he was having diarrhea, which is a scary thing in a cat who weighs less then a pound. They checked with their vet, who encouraged me to come down just in case; if i could get there by the time they closed, we would be seen. They were very willing to fit us in last minute. We got there with 5 minutes to spare, and they saw us to a room. They were very efficient and very competent. They answered all of my questions, and were thorough in his care: fluids, de-wormer, flea treatment, some tests, and a bit of food. The doctor we saw, Dr. Stephens, answered all of my questions and was very knowledgeable, and she was genuinely concerned with my kitten's welfare. The vet tech was also knowledgeable and took our information efficiently. Overall, it was a good, welcoming atmosphere. And they were absolutely willing to make copies for us to take to our normal vet, and recommended two emergency vets in the area should our kitten have any problems overnight. They also knew our regular vet and spoke well of them-- techs and doctor. Their pricing is very affordable. I would be happy to pay these prices regularly, and they did not charge us extra despite the fact that we were a last-minute emergency seen after they closed. The staff loved our kitten and asked us to send an update even though we do not see them regularly. I am VERY happy with this vet's office, and if my relationship with my current vet was not so positive, I would switch in a heartbeat. read more

We have seen several of the doctors, and each one is attentive and handles them with care. We have been coming to this hospital for years. Having previous bad experiences, it was a pleasure to find such a caring "family feel" in a Vet. Dr. Howard is incredibly sweet and knowledgable, while considerate of owners' wishes and finances. We have seen her with 2 dogs and 1 cat for 10 years. I do wish they would perform more simple procedures and assessments in-room with owners (if they choose), versus back of house. Highly recommended! read more

My dog was throwing up during the nite and I knew something was wrong with him. He wasn't acting like himself so I called the vets at 6:30 am and was told to bring him in at 8:30 am The care that my dog got was excellent, the staff and vet showed their concern as well as professionalism and knowledge of there profession. Ex rays were taken and it showed he had swallowed something, injections were given to him to help relieve the inflammation in his stomach and intestines. Operating was being considered since this object he swallowed was not moving. As the day went on the foreign object he swallowed did start to move and they put him on several medications. The next day he was back to his puppy way of being very active and like nothing ever happen. My thanks go out to Dr. Gernhart, Dr Stephens and their staff, they were there when I needed them and their concern was truly appreciated!!!! read more
